lol, i bet it felt like a brick at the 80mile marker , in the meanwhile if you ever decide to adventure over the pond and visit the UK for a bit of two wheeling , I can hook you up with a friend and organiser of the Hard Moors ultra race serious , 160 or 110 should be your cup of tea

We met at the 2014 Burning Man Ultramarathon (seeing your video of the 2013 race is how I found out about it). I'm no longer able to do ultras -- once I hit 45 years, my body decided that I needed to stick to shorter runs -- but I got a teensy bit of that ultra rush watching this. Thanks for reconnecting me with that feeling. I'm happy that you're in the world.

I am 65now and 7 years ago I finished ironman. The races tatted for me halfway thru the marathon. I finished ok but was not trained up for the emotional ending of it all. Noone ever thinks how hard it is emotionally to finish. I still have emotions about it today. The physical part we all know is hard the emotional I feel harder. Good work ,160 km is a fair distance.

I know the pain of Hope Pass, as my bikepacking partner and I missed our turn on the CT and ended up going over Hope Pass and this was after our flub-up the previous day when we made a wrong turn and went six miles up Mt. Ryan! You are a beast of a runner. Going into the pain cave and endure it for a full 24 hours is something else! You should absolutely be so immensely proud of yourself for that achievement. Running these ultra distances isn't just a physical feat but also a mental one. The body will almost always come up to a certain threshold where it wants to quit and then the mental aspect comes in and wills the body into forward momentum. Having that mental strength of knowing that you can push beyond those boundaries is priceless and looks like you have that in abundance!
You encourage all of us to find that physical boundary for ourselves and then push beyond them, just like you routinely do on your epic bike tours and ultra-distance running.
You are an inspiration to us all!
Thank you Ryan for sharing your experiences with the rest of us!

I know if was just a few minutes in your video, but you took me back to the last section of my Leadville 100. Those last 12 miles coming in from Mayqueen are like holding your breath underwater trying to swim to Hawai'i.

Wow, what a day! You filmed that in such a way that I could feel the joy, the camaraderie, and of course the suffering. I don’t know if it makes me any more willing to sign up for a 100 (let alone the LV100), but if I do, you have laid down a great example of how to live the day. Way to dig deep!
