It was correct, MVP should go to the winning teams best player IMO. In NHL they clearly don't think that and just give it to McDavid even when he doesn't deserve it.
I think Leonard played pretty well despite breaking his nose a couple games ago, taking a puck to the same nose, and in general taking lots of abuse that the refs didn't care to notice. There was one play in this game where Leonard did try to sell a dive, but Finland did the exact same thing earlier in this game and it drew a penalty. He played an awesome tournament.
In the third period and the overtime the US was dominating, yet Finland almost stole it. Allowing two quick goals in the end of the second was too hard to take. As a side note: 3 on 3 is a whole different game, should never be used for defining a winner.

The important thing in this argument are the resources and number of people. USA has around 560,000 registered ice-hockey players while Finland has 70,000. USA spends around 100-200m in hockey yearly while Finland spends 5-10m

As a US fan, I would much rather lose to you guys as well over Canada. Anyone but Canada. They still think it's 1960 and they completely dominate hockey. They are living in the past. Over the past 15 years, the US has won WJC gold 6 times and Canada 4 times. The NHL has been less than 50% Canadian players for about a decade now and it is falling fast..down to 41% or so last season. Most Canadians still think they make up 2/3 of the league and win 90% of international competitions.

The Finns made a bit of the same mistake as in their previous games against Latvia (quarterfinal) and Sweden (semifinal)... passivating their game too much in the lead. Those first two games still ended in victory, not this one.
У меня сложилось мнение что финны слили игру. Они стали очень слабо играть в 3 периоде, прямо очень заметно. Огромная разница в скорости и технике между 1,2 периодами и 3.

Заметь, что фины еще в матче со Словакией нервничали в конце, а со шведами так вообще должны были вылетать за такую же бездарную концовку матча.
