The question has been asked about the inner border. It generally takes 3/4 of a yard for the inner border, but we had some leftover strips from the jelly roll so we used those, and cut the remaining strips we needed from 1/4 of matching background fabric. I hope that makes sense. Thanks
this is so cute and you know, no matter what block Jenny is showing you how to make, she makes them ALL look so easy to do. I just love watching her tutorials. I have learned so much watching Jenny. She is the best.
Oh Jenny you made me laugh out loud when you tried to cut that with a pen!!! Too funny!!! I love this quilt!! You're so much fun to watch!! Thank you!!!
This quilt is so cute! I watched this the morning I was heading out to a quilt retreat so I grabbed a couple of jelly rolls and my quilt is halfway done. All the ladies at the retreat loved the pattern and it's going to be SUPER cute.
It was nearly at the end before my brain realised that this is a new way for doing a log cabin! I love how you show us that a small change in a pattern can create something new and beautiful. Thank you Jenny for another great tutorial!
It’s 3 a.m.!! As soon as I saw this, I downloaded it. Then I couldn’t wait to watch it. When I saw the block, I immediately thought of throw pillows or quilted bags or Dollie quilts. The block is so cute I hate to lose it in a beautiful quilt. No, that’s not as true. I’m too lazy to make the quilt but absolutely love this block. You got me again! Thank you!!
@@tlsnana9539 The cut measurements are all within the pattern, or at the beginning of the tutorial. You will need: 6- 2.5" squares 1- 4.5" 1- 6.5" 1- 8.5" From both a print and a white strip for each block. We hope this helps!
I’m playing with this today but using honey buns. You get 2 blocks from each strip that unfinished is 5.5”/finished in the quilt will be 5”. It’s so dang cute!!! Wish I could post a picture. Thanks Jenny for another fun quilt pattern!!! 👍🏻
This is absolutely beautiful. I love the colors. I have several jelly rolls that I could use. This would be cute as a small baby quilt. And I just found out yesterday that my daughter is pregnant with our first grandchild. Time to relook at the baby block from last year.
I always enjoy your tutorials. It adds just one more quilt to my list, That's ok, I'm gonna have to live a lot longer to get them all done! My problem is that I started this way, way, too late in life. I'd better get going on my quilt!
Ooo & WEE I C A SECONDARY BLOCK. SO-OO CUTEFUL. WHAT FUN!!!. I'M SO-OO HAPPY THAT I'VE DWNLOADED MSQC APP. I CAN WATCH YOUR TUTORIALS ANYTIME. I ALWAYS GET A EXTRA BURST OF HAPPINESS WHEN FRIDAY COMES AROUND 2 C WHAT MSQC HAS CREATED THIS TIME. THANK U 4 SHARING WIT US.
Definitivamente eres una gran inspiración para las que amamos el patchwork. Soy de Medellín Colombia y sueño con el día que pueda visitar tus tiendas y conocerte. Disfruto tus tutoriales, los haces ver fáciles y entretenidos.
I was amazed at how it was put together, I thought it would've been put together like the Sticks and Stones quilt, I was so surprised at how you built it log cabin style! So much fun! Beautiful quilt!
Such a "happy" quilt with your choice of fabrics! Time for me to go through my fabric stash and give this a try! So fun...so easy! Thank you Jenny...love your tutorials!!
I so can't wait to make this! I am admitting that I am a fabric hoarder and need to start using up some of the beautiful jelly rolls that I do have, thank you for the fabulous pattern! :)
This is such a cute layout I love it. I think I'm gonna try it with one of the jelly rolls I have. And those little waste triangles I been saving all those by doing the 2nd seem right after it in I probably have almost enough to make a entire quilt.
LOVE this quilt. Jenny, I took a tip from one of your other tutorials and used the Folded Corner Clipper by Creative Grids to cut out and sew together the five 2.5 inch HST’s - worked like a charm - no need to draw the line or trim off the dog ears and the HST’s are a perfect 2.5 in square every time! I just put the background strip on top of the print strip right sides up, cut the 5 units, then flip the background piece over so the right sides are together and sew your perfect seam tip to tip. 👍🏻
Jenny , this is perfect for one of my family members for Christmas ! I've been wrecking my brain and changed my mind a hundred times but this one just solved all my problems! Thank you so very much !!
I love this one!! And your color choice is so happy and springy! My first thought was Civil War fabrics with a yummy golden tan.... I see so many ideas flashing before my eyes!!! Black and white... Red white and blue... Oh my... It is gonna be a real treat!! Thanks Jenny and crew for all you do!!
What a quick pattern to use up those jelly rolls. How about putting a color triangle on the end of the long white pieces to make a little pinwheel in the center of the white spaces and likewise; a white triangle on the end of the long color pieces to make a white pinwheel in the color.
Carrie, I love your idea of adding pinwheels. Can you explain to me how to add the triangles on the ends of the long strips so that they form pinwheels?
I think I am going to place embroidery in the middle of that white piece. Maybe flowers. I will see. Anyway, this is a great pattern. Thanks again, Jenny!
I bought 2 Rainbow Swirl half jellies that have 17 strips instead of 20 and was trying to figure out what to do with them. Very timely and perfect video. Thank you! Also, thanks Carrie for your suggestion of the pinwheels. This is going to be such a fun quilt! Just have to get my white strips and then pick out something for binding and backing. Suggestions?
Oh that will be beautiful! Here is a great fabric for your binding: www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/104028/moda-fabrics/moda-fabrics/parfait-batiks-rainbow-yardage And this one would be neat for your backing: www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/97540/anthology-fabrics/anthology/108-wide-back-batik-medallion-rainbow-backing
Thank you for the suggestions, I knew you would pick something really pretty. I saved them to my list so I can order them. Won't be able to till May 3, so hope you will still have them. Also liked another of that line. Have a little tme to decide. Thanks again for all the great videos and service.
First of all I just love your tutorials, you are so fun to watch! I love what you did with that allison glass fabric, beautiful! I love her fabric prints!
I think this is such a great use of jelly rolls. This is going to be one that I make for sure. Thank you for all of your amazing video’s and fun videos with your kiddos
Jenny, this is cutest quilt I've seen in a long time! I love how you teach it and especially how you show us how to sew it. I've made many of your quilts. This one is next. My sister and I both want to make it. Thank you so much!
I never miss a video and watch them multiple times and I hope everything is ok Jenny. You seemed a little different . Thank you for getting me started quilting. You are awesome.
I'm really disappointed that Rob Appell did not have his contract renewed, he was inspirational for me and I looked forward to him being a mentor for my 10 year old grandson
I noticed below you told Jane Sprague to put a pic of her finished quilt on Facebook. Jenny, I'm not on Facebook, I'm older and just see no need. I'm very addicted to YT videos, so between YT and sewing, designing, crafting & my socializing 'offline', I wouldn't have time. Is there another way to send u a pic once I complete this tutorial? You've just sparked more of my creative juices... I may have 2 pics for you! I just found you this past week, so I will be spreading the word to my quilting friends. One who was never on YT until I told her about all the quilting videos on here just a few days ago. Even I didn't realize there were so many. I subscribed and look forward to all your videos. Thank you!! Blessings, L :)

Beautiful Jenny your the only you tuber I can follow because you make it understandable and your very precise and good with your instructions thanks very much lovely lady xxxxxx
Would rather you trim loose threads with scissors and it would look less like a nest on the back...unless your pieces you demo on are not really used in a quilt. I feel it's misleading to the newer quilters to not make a tidy back, as well as a tidy front of each block. I do enjoy your tutorials, however this detracts from your professionalism. I have been to your town & in all of your stores; love the set up in each & oh, so much fabric & wonderful ideas nearby! Such fun!

Jenny Doan how wide is the inner border please. The outer is 6 inches so I assume cutting at 6 1/2 inches?
Some of the greatest tutorials on the planet!!!
Agreed!
Absolutely!
We really appreciate your comment! Thank you! :)
this is so cute and you know, no matter what block Jenny is showing you how to make, she makes them ALL look so easy to do. I just love watching her tutorials. I have learned so much watching Jenny. She is the best.
Thank you so much for the kind comment Robyn Winter! We're so glad you enjoy watching our tutorials.
Oh Jenny you made me laugh out loud when you tried to cut that with a pen!!! Too funny!!! I love this quilt!! You're so much fun to watch!! Thank you!!!
I have been hoarding a Bella Solids 30's jelly roll for years. This pattern is perfect for it.

Oh what a fun quilt! Some rick rack on the outer boarder would be a nice touch too.

Congratulations to you and your family! Such an exciting time!
Wow, that is so adorable. I love the Rick Rack look.
I never get tired of watching you and the wonderful designs you create, Jenny. I'm looking forward to making this quilt. Thank you so much!
Jane, we are thrilled to hear that you love our tutorial! We would love to see your version of this pattern, please share it with us on Facebook.
This design is such a fun combination of modern and traditional. I love it.

I recommended this pattern to my Guild as a retreat pattern. Very cute and good for our newer quilters.
I love the simplicity of this one. A great twist on a log cabin block.
So very cute! Reminds me of the ric-rac that my mom used to sew on our blouses. Especially, our spring and summer clothes... love it!

Looks like spring or Easter. Very nice and happy quilt.
I so can't wait to make this! I am admitting that I am a fabric hoarder and need to start using up some of the beautiful jelly rolls that I do have, thank you for the fabulous pattern! :)
Y’all are ingenious coming up will all these different patterns. Thanks for helping us that can’t.
I just Love watching Jenny sew, I do the same things as her
Love this pattern! My favorite (& only 😄) granddaughter just graduated to a "big girl" bed & this will be perfect to make for her.
Quilt making will be my new found hobby... thank you Jenny!
This would make an awesome minimalist-style 2 color quilt, too!
This is such a cute layout I love it. I think I'm gonna try it with one of the jelly rolls I have. And those little waste triangles I been saving all those by doing the 2nd seem right after it in I probably have almost enough to make a entire quilt.
The rick rack looks great! It reminds me of lace. Thank you for the awesome tutorial!
Another quilt to put on my list to make. Since my group is University of Tennessee I might have to find that orange jelly roll.
Looks like an advanced project, but Jenny’s great tutorial breaks it into manageable steps, love the fabrics, this is when a jelly roll is your BF.
I love this cute quilt. I'm in the process of packing so that I can move, but as soon as I can get my quilting space set up I'm making this pattern! ❤
We would love it if you would share your creations with us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter! Good luck with the move!
