Thank You! It was a lot of work, but it came out pretty well.

Utterly fantastic work! Without a doubt, yours is the best choice of colors I've seen on anyone's build.
I know it's been a few years since you built it, but I would like to know the tools you used to cut out under the armor plate edges. I made a chisel of sorts, but it is extremely slow going, and not nearly so neat.
    Thanks!

John. Thank You for your word's! Well, I went through a lot of X-Acto #16 Blades! The work was repetitive, and a pain in the butt a few times, But came out pretty good. I hope this helps you. Thank You for Your Time!

Michael Mitchell Hello. Sorry that I didn't find your question till now. I would be awesome to replace the battery with a plug in. I'm planning on a new, taller base. I found some wooden boxes that looks like a book, I just need to miter the corners. Thank You for Your Time!

Just starting on mine now. You've given me a lot of ideas about how to approach the lighting. For the flight pods, did you solder the wires from the pod to the hull wires and then 'stuff them' back in the main hull? Always a challenge to get all the wires connected right before you seal it up for good. Oh, and what color scheme did you use?
    Great build!

Scott. Thank You. Yeah, this was a good challenge. The easiest way I figured out how to light up the Landing bays was to pull extra wires through the main hull. You probably saw some wires taped down to the hull close to the landing bay connection ports? I connected the wires together and pulled the excess back through to the main hull.
As for the Hull colors. It's all in how You see the colors. I saw it in shades of Gray other people see it in Metallic's. But here's the shades I used.
Ok It's a few shades. Outer Armor, Neutral Gray. The Inner Hull, Dark Gull Gray.
And about those little details I added to the main hull? I studied the pictures of the Galactica on the Instructions. I used some pensile led, let it set for about a couple of seconds and I painted Neutral gray over it, it moves around a little bit,let it dry and dry brush a light cote of Light gray over it.
And painted Euro 1 Gray, Gunship Gray and Dark Ghost Gray on all the small Grebals I added. Oh yeah, I didn't use the Decals for the Red strips, I painted them with Insignia Red. And used a cote of powered Black water color and Black pastel for all the smoke from all battle damage.
I hope this answers all your questions.
Oh yeah, a few people have asked me what I used to remove all the plastic to add the details. I used a lot of X-Acto #16 blades and some #11.

Chad B Hello. Sorry that I didn't find your question till now. Well I used cool white (Light Blue) to realize that I should have used Warm white, the same color as the windows. Thank You for Your Time.

Great build. I noticed the intricate fiber optics underneath the front of the model. Was that hard to finish after painting? How did you trim those down? Could you have gotten the same effect with drilling window holes and backlighting with LEDs?

Oops sorry I didn't see this till now. Accidentally 6 Years latter😳. Yes it was Hard to trim off the Fiber optics in the sandwich section. I thought about back lighting them. When I saw someone else do that at the time, and I didn't really like how it looked.

Are the landing bay lights white or blue? Thanks.

I used two 3mm Cool White LED's, I used the same for the Engines. By the pictures I have I thought the landing bay had a Blue glow. But it is suppose to have a warmer glow, I should have used Warm White.

I like it! I notice that a lot of whites look blue on camera and I wanted to know. I am planning on making a Pegasus...or a Galactica...or Pegasus. lol. I'm on the fence about it. I'm trying to gather as much info as I can since I never did a lighted model before.

Thank You! Well I have lighted a few kits, But it was challenging to squeeze all the wires into the kind of small main body. You've seen the picture of all the wires coming out the bottom, pain in the but.
The easiest way I figured out how to light up kits up is to think of how water pipe's work. The power goes in to your kit, light's up all the lights and the power goes back through your wires out of your kit back to your power source.
I found a lot of pictures online but you can if your able to, watch some episodes.
Good luck in lighting your kits!

Thanks. I took two years of vocational electronics back in high school. which was like 20 years ago. In fact the Air Force wanted me to go into that career field since I scored highest on the ASVAB in that area. But I really didn't like it. Our teacher was more of a design circuits types then a hands on sorta guy. So I went to be an aircraft mechanic. lol. My big issue is power. How much amperage is common for power supply? 1-2A? I'll most likely set it up for 12V but use 9V. Also how do you connect to the main power wires? Just direct solder connect to them or do ppl use some sort of distribution (ie bus or multiple pin device) device?

Sir. I humbly apologize! But in my defense, how would I know what you do. I bet you know a 1000 times more than I'm just scraping into. As for the power, I use a 9 volt battery. But it drains one in a few hours. I fact that what probably cost me a award at the 2015 IMPS Spring contest. I know I should have brought a few more.
Anyway, what I what to build next is going to make my Galactica look tame. I'm hoping to light up the original Enterprise Bridge. Using a some led's for the lighting kit for the Big 1:350 original Enterprise.
Again I apologize for my words!
