It's nice that you opted to not use the Mathews stabilizers. While they are beautiful they are not required. Alot of people seem to think you have to use bridgelock stabilizers with the new Mathews. I bought a bare Lift 33 and transferred over my Hamskea Trinity rest, stabilizers and fast eddie XL sight (which works in the dovetail in the riser). The only additional cost for me was the quiver because I got rid of mine when I traded in my Hoyt. I did buy the limb legs because it's so convenient
As much as the Mathews stabilizers cut out vibration in the bow with how stiff they are, I just couldn’t justify spending over $700 in 2 stabilizers with the rear mount. It’s expensive enough getting into a brand new setup these days. Sometimes you just have to know where to cut your costs. I used the RedLine on my old bow, and I really liked it. Decided to go back to it for a fraction of the price.

I gave up shooting Mathews newer bows because of how heavy they got, from the monster on. Started shooting the older lighter bows. Heaviest bow I shoot now is my Switchback. Maybe a Lift 33" would be more to my liking. I'll wait a couple years though. Mathews is great at having parts for all the bow models they have made. New prices are crazy.
Congrats on your bow. I am presently building my Lift 33 and know how your feeling. I'm not completely done yet but will post once I do with the parts and cost of my build to see how close I am to yours. Great hunting and be safe.
And that's why I won't buy a Mathews Lyft. I can afford it. That's not the issue. But deep down I resent having to spend up to $3.000 for a bow set up. Frankly I just resent this. I recognize that machining, material and labor costs have gone up. But $259.00 for an arrow rest, $250.00 plus for a quiver. These prices are absurd and I feel that they are detrimental to archery as a whole. Yes, other manufacturers are pricey too but not to the degree that Mathews is. They are in a league all their own. I will say one thing to their credit. They make a great bow. I shot the 33 and it was fantastic.
All the big manufacturers are coming in at the same price for their flagship bows. Hoyt Bowtech Pse Elite not sure how Mathews is in a league of their own on price of bows. Hell even Bear archery has flagship bows that are over 1000 these days.

The specs for my current 2013 flagship bow are 35" ATA, 6.25" brace height, 340 fps, & 4.5 pounds. If I were to replace it with the same brand 2024 flagship bow, the specs would be 34" ATA, 6.25" brace height, 342 fps, & 4.5 pounds. Spec-wise bows haven't changed much in the past 10+ years. I don't have any intention of replacing my $899 flagship bow in my lifetime. It has a rock solid back wall, stays in tune extremely well, is quiet at the shoot, and is very consistent/accurate. Today's bows look fat & overweight to me. It's cheaper if I keep telling myself that, too! 😃
Fk that! I wouldn’t spend over a 1000$ on bow and accessorys and dozen arrows and broadheads! And I would never disrespect myself by cheating with a xgun
just seems like you could pull the gear off your old bow. i got a v3x with real nice shit on it, when i get a lift, i'll just move all my real nice shit over
I 100% could have moved everything over to my new bow, but I chose to get all new stuff and sell my old bow to a friend who was just getting into bow hunting.
In 2023 July I bought a Hoyt Torrex, first ever bow $700. Couldn't see a multi pin sight so paid $350 for a single pin sight, needed arrows which were 200 per dozen, (now pay half at Bass Pro per dozen, same arrow) needed a case and bought that on amazon for $175 standard QAD rest, cheap front weight bar and I spent over 2000k when it was all said and done. Needed a release, i am on my third one because you never pick the right one if you've never done this before. Bought a cheap deer practice target, then bought another box target.... this is like golf or fishing its keep adding and changing etc. The set up you got seems standard to me, the question is how long will you have this set up. Many people chase the what's new. Levi Morgan just bought a 15 year old bow, and went out and killed a deer. There will always be newer and better, get a good set up and shoot it for a few years. I dont' have the best set up in the world, but I have the set up that I can afford and it will kill any deer if the shot is on target and that by the way is up to the shooter.
Also want to add how stupid it is for guys that buy new bows every year, here’s why a lot of shops will not allow you to walk in and buy off the shelf you have to order a bow which takes upwards to 6 months so you actually only have the bow less than a year, so by the time you shoot it and break it in and hunt with it, the newest bows for the following year are already coming out generally during first two months of season so it makes no sense to try to keep up with em I stopped in 2020 and guess what my bow can do whatever a new one can and it can do what I need it to do. Thanks for making this video
@@brandonpatterson5705 I agree with you, but if that’s what people want to do then more power to them. If they can afford it, let’em. This is the reason why I made this video was to show the real cost of what it takes to get a brand new bow setup. Shows just how crazy some people are buying these every season.

I think its safe to say i'm never buying another bow for as long as I live haha.
@@aaronhawk4200 That’s a good deal. I like the way the new quivers fit on the bow and the low profile of them as well. There’s a difference though. If I bought the stabilizers, that would have been over $700. With the stabilizers I bought and the quiver I was still under $350… 🤷🏻♂️

Is it a 29.5 or 33 just curious how much he over charged you. The lift is 1229$ for 29.5 or 1329$ for 33. You went and did a complete bow build and gave him free advertising and he flipping up charges you lol. I understand everyone's got to make money to stay in business but that's why mathews sales them to him for less than the msrp price. Anyways dope build and nice set up good luck next season
He got the 29.5. MSRP on the 29.5 is $1329 (for Black and Realtree). All other colors have a $50 upcharge (which is what Mathews charges me), so it gets passed along to the customer. I did mispeak on the price in the video. I said $1429, but that is not what he was charged.
@ronaldirvineII There are two prices you will see. One is MSRP, and the other is MAP (Minimum Advertised Price). Mathews MAP price is $100 less than their MSRP.
Right now on my lift 33 bow build I have $1989.84 so far before the bow. Of course that includes a new UV button release so you could take away 326.95 for that for a total of $1662.89 and am still waiting on a few parts to arrive I still have to pay for. LOL Hell I thought my Harley's in the past cost a lot.
To each their own big dog 🤙🏻 one thing I’ll never buy used is a bow. You never know what the first person did to it or if they dry fired it even once. I’m good 🇺🇸
Idk why everyone is dick ridding Matthews so hard with these price points when there soooo many other great bows on the market. I just won a 3D tournament against a bunch of guys with similar builds, I’d doesn’t make you a better shooter putting $2500-$3000 into a bow. Buy a Darton save some money
I don’t think it’s necessarily “dick riding” Mathew’s. It’s what people like to shoot. Some people are willing to spend the money on something they want, such as myself. People with traditional bows can still outshoot people with compound bows. Again, it’s all about whatever you like and want as an individual. It’s also about how much time and practice you put into shooting. Never about the bow. Good job on the win though. Keep after it!
@@i_hunt_because_im_hungry every archery UA-cam channel is talking about or shooting Matthew, it’s dick ridding. Every time I go to a tournament 80% of the guys there have a bow you see on all these channels and it gets old. If you want your channel to stand out do something new not another Matthews build.
@@Texaslivinoutdoors you sound angry. Don’t be angry about what others choose to shoot or what they want to buy. Just because you choose to go cheaper and with a name brand that isn’t Mathew’s doesn’t mean you’re better than everyone else out there. And just so you’re on the same page as myself, this wasn’t a bow build. Simply the complete setup with the prices to show others who actually care about getting into this bow and let them know why the round about price is to get into this. @@i_hunt_because_im_hungry i’m not angry, I just think it’s lame that every archery channel is talking about the same thing. Got to follow what’s trendy.
whats crazy is I just had one come into my shop because he couldnt tune it....Mathews installed mis-matching shim sets in the bow...from the factory.... paying almost 2k for a bow that isnt even assembled properly and chrono's bout 80fps slower than the factory IBO rating. Ive got 8 year old Elite's that perform better. people need to stop buying based on a brand name, mathews preys on the gullible
I haven’t seen that yet with anyone I’ve talked to or seen in that shop. Again, with them being mass produced like they are, there will always be some that are messed up at some point. I wouldn’t say gullible, but they do know they can get people to pay a lot of money for their bows. All about that name brand. Some people are just happier shooting a name than a bow. I get what you’re saying though. Never want to pay that much money for something and have something go wrong or be wrong with the product.
Whats sad is people like urself will just keep driving the price up. The amount of people going into shops and putting a down payment on a bow they havent even HELD is insane. I guess this is what happens when you spend x10 the amount on advertising. Props to mathews for creating a company like this, but holy crap... if i spend 2500 bucks on a bow its going to automatically "feel better".
@@philgiuffre6390 I think most people just think Mathews is overpriced. I just think it can vary from dealer to dealer, but they’re not completely wrong when it comes to accessories either.
@@i_hunt_because_im_hungry the thing is, it’s priced higher because, at least this year, it’s a superior product. In the past you could make the argument which was best, but Mathews made a mark with weight, speed and sound. With accessories, you still have all the same options plus bridge lock. Thats what makes it so great. In that bow, you pay more for the superior product. I’m not sticking up for Mathews by any means, just logic that a superior product would come at a premium price.
@@philgiuffre6390 I can definitely agree with that for sure. This bow definitely does not disappoint. I had it grouping 12 inches at 100 yards the first time I got it sighted in. I’m very impressed.
Any of you spending over $1000 total on a bow are fools. My used $250 Creed with $25 sight can do the same thing as these expensive new bows. You aint killing nothing outside of 50 yards people. I enjoy seeing people get ripped off though.
You don’t have to agree with what people decide to spend their hard earned money on. I’m sure there are things that you’ve spent your money on that just didn’t make sense in the past to someone else. Good thing this isn’t your choice because I truly live shooting this bow. Have fun with your $250 bow. I hope it treats you well and lasts forever. Good luck hunting out there. It’s a sport we can all love and admire in our own ways 🇺🇸
If you're thinking about getting into archery hunting take some free advice: Don't watch UA-cam "influencers" and think you have to mimic them concerning gear. Many are sponsored in some way so they get some gear for free. You're better off learning land navigation skills, scouting an area to hunt, learning how to be extremely quiet, learning how to read the wind, and practice shooting a lot. I'm not saying this guy is sponsored and I'm not saying it's wrong to spend that kind of money. I'm just saying you don't have to and there's way more to archery hunting than a Mathews Lift and all the Sitka clothes.

Today's bows look fat & overweight to me. It's cheaper if I keep telling myself that, too! 😃
Might as well buy a top of the line crossbow for the same price that shoots 100 fps faster and you can use it all archery season in Kansas!
I would never buy a crossbow unless I can no longer pull a compound back…
Might as well take that money, and go buy a cow if you're gonna be lazy about it.
Fk that! I wouldn’t spend over a 1000$ on bow and accessorys and dozen arrows and broadheads! And I would never disrespect myself by cheating with a xgun
Still using the visions debit card.... Nice.
Solid setup, loved the video, sub'd
One other thing that could save you money is take the stuff off old bow put on new bow.
just seems like you could pull the gear off your old bow. i got a v3x with real nice shit on it, when i get a lift, i'll just move all my real nice shit over
I 100% could have moved everything over to my new bow, but I chose to get all new stuff and sell my old bow to a friend who was just getting into bow hunting.
If you think that price is ridiculous I just priced Tenpoint’s 515 crossbow $4600 that’s insane
Prices of everything are getting out of control these days. They know people will buy them. Pretty soon these bows will start shooting themselves haha
That’s nuts
The Torrex is a dang nice bow! I would say you did the right thing by sacrificing a little on the bow but getting nicer accessories
I Thaught the more u spend on a bow the better shot u will be lol 😂
Subbed for a fellow Kansan
Did he end up giving you a discount ?
He did end up giving the 10% discount on everything
I didn't give a discount, you earned it!😂
@@kansasarcherycenter1004 lol that makes sense
My new Hoyt only cost $1,918.82 with all their branded accessories. I already had a sight. Mathews is too high. I got the integrate non-branded QAD.
Hope you keep it for a lifetime
I plan on it for sure
Also want to add how stupid it is for guys that buy new bows every year, here’s why a lot of shops will not allow you to walk in and buy off the shelf you have to order a bow which takes upwards to 6 months so you actually only have the bow less than a year, so by the time you shoot it and break it in and hunt with it, the newest bows for the following year are already coming out generally during first two months of season so it makes no sense to try to keep up with em I stopped in 2020 and guess what my bow can do whatever a new one can and it can do what I need it to do. Thanks for making this video
@@i_hunt_because_im_hungry :)
@@brandonpatterson5705 I agree with you, but if that’s what people want to do then more power to them. If they can afford it, let’em. This is the reason why I made this video was to show the real cost of what it takes to get a brand new bow setup. Shows just how crazy some people are buying these every season.
@@i_hunt_because_im_hungry absolutely more power to them, I loved your approach to it though :) I’m all for supporting archery period it’s the best hobby/sport on the planet. I just found a bow that shot well for me and I said enough with chasing flagship when I’m on a cruiser budget 😂 I’ve subbed and hit the bell so I’ll be watching to see what you can do with that thingy lol
It’s all subjective. As long as the individual is happy and can afford the cost it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. Great looking setup though. That initial shock of the price if your new to archery will get you off your not made of money. 😂
It’s definitely not cheap if you’re just getting into it and want to go with a big name brand.
@@i_hunt_because_im_hungry The companies are getting better at coming out with some great mid range bows for entry level shooters or even people who have been shooting for some time just looking for a backup bow.
It comes down to how dumb a person is I guess
Shia!
That bow price is a few $100 high isn’t it?
It was about right with the taxes on it here in Kansas. This isn’t a cheap state, which blew me away when I moved here.
My LIFT with all Matthews stuff including 2 ( with v bar) stabilizers, 5 pin site, and ultra view button trigger about $3475 USD. With a few arrows and a case $3790.88 USD with taxes.
Unreal! Wow that’s nuts
The most insane cost is nearly 300 for quiver that can't costs them more than 30 to make hehe....
The bow is innovative i can see 900 for it....
Looks like a Dragon 10 for me with good accessories ill swap to one of these in 2 or 3 years if im alive..m
That will buy a daniel defense rifle......you can keep the bow
To each their own man. No judgement 🤷🏻♂️
I wish that was what my Lift cost. My full Lift 29.5 setup (without the cost of the peep, nose button and some other small odds and ends) came out to $4,137 😅. But I did go with top of the line for everything, including the Mathews bridge lock stabilizers for the front and rear as well as the UV Slider sight. I think its safe to say i'm never buying another bow for as long as I live haha.
😂😂😂😂
Bro got ripped off some where
I just came home with the lift, all bridge lock accessories, mx2 rest, hamskea deluxe peep. Hha tetra with the ultraview target kit for 2793.94
@@aaronhawk4200 That’s a good deal.
The bow was $1,500
My UV slider was $610
MX2 Rest was $265
Bridge lock 12” stab was $294
Bridge lock 8” rear stab $225
Quick disconnect vbar $150
Low pro quiver $250
Easton wrist strap was $16
Shot sense was $381
Bowman nose button $18
Engage limb legs $87
Sas string was $37
Then I got a few other accessories like extra set of switch weight mods to perfect my draw length. It added up on me quick.
I didn't do shot sense. I hope you enjoy that i haven't found one yet.
I have a hoyt alpha x 30 and all together I paid 1600
For a stripped bow ?
250 for a quiver 🤯
Yup. Ain’t cheap these days for any brand
Ever see a credit card smoke??
😂
If you drink the mathews / UltraView KoolAid, you must pay. Latest and greatest is not for the faint of heart. With all premium you are going to be touching 5k buckle in for the ride
@@Funny-bf8xf I agree. I couldn’t justify spending almost $700 on Mathew’s stabilizers and the UV when you can get the same quality for a fraction of the price. However, I do think the bow itself is one of the best I’ve shot. After having it almost a year now, I wouldn’t trade it. But yes, not for the faint of heart 😂
Hahaha, I'm in Ontario, and just built out a hoyt alpha x with all very high end components.. 3600$ .. Americans have nothing to complain about.......
Bro that's like 2,650 US......same price
Got a Lift 33, with all the Mathew’s accessories. Front bar and back bar. Came out to $3200
And I didn’t even get a site. UV slider was another $600
Key is don't cheap out on the accessories, you can switch almost all of them from bow to bow. Buy once, cry once (for a little while anyways).
Not a whole lot in this world that’s cheap anymore these days 😂
Mine was 3 k
Couldn’t justify the bridge lock stabilizer but spent an extra hundred on a quiver?
I like the way the new quivers fit on the bow and the low profile of them as well. There’s a difference though. If I bought the stabilizers, that would have been over $700. With the stabilizers I bought and the quiver I was still under $350… 🤷🏻♂️
@@i_hunt_because_im_hungry nahh I’ll be totally honest I didn’t think that one through all the way lol. I only do a single bar and like the hd quiver better so for me it worked out.
@kansasarcherycenter1004 oh lol that makes since. i was like dang 1429$ that's 100$ more than my lift 33 subalpine I just ordered
@ronaldirvineII There are two prices you will see. One is MSRP, and the other is MAP (Minimum Advertised Price). Mathews MAP price is $100 less than their MSRP.
$750.00 before you even get to the bow😂.
That’s why I wait 6 months and buy a like new one for $1,200 decked out! Buying a new bow is just stupid
To each their own big dog 🤙🏻 one thing I’ll never buy used is a bow. You never know what the first person did to it or if they dry fired it even once. I’m good 🇺🇸
@@i_hunt_because_im_hungry I’ve bought and sold used bows for over 12 years. Sometimes even multiple in a year, never had any issues
@@martypopeye8236 that’s great for you man. I’d rather not risk it. To each their own
Still cheaper than the RX-8, with Hoyt parts
And rx8 is still better
And no it's it's not. You realize two 12" bridge lock bars and a rear stab mount for bridge lock comes out to 800-900
@joshbeavers1349 lol I don't shoot hoyt. I just know prices
It's a win win then since a RX-8 will take 2nd place behind the Mathews lift.
@joshbeavers1349 He's dreaming!
I don’t know why people cry bout the price when they buy a carbon bow which will cost the same
The Lift in Canada is $1900, your easy $3000 with cheap accessories on it
Put the best stuff on the bow, and your $5000
I paid 1399 for my lift...
With tax here in KS, it was around $1,429 for just the bow
Jesus christ! You're getting took to the cleaners on the price! $269 for a qad rest???😮
Next time you have a concern about what others are building or buying or shooting, take a sip of your Bud Light and move on. Enjoy your day big guy. Not here to please them all. Good luck with your future shoots.
Fck THAT, please tell me he gave you those discounts he said he could and it was closer to 2k...
He got 10% off of everything. Even though I could sell the stuff I have for whatever price I choose, I choose to keep my doors open and make a living.
Little bit overpriced cost lots of markup going on
This is the cost of a lot of new bows… pretending like the high price is exclusive to Mathews is weird…
I didn’t just say Mathew’s. I said getting into a flagship bow in the video. Thanks bro
@@i_hunt_because_im_hungry and my comment was to the people saying it was due to it being Mathews. Thanks Bro
If you're thinking about getting into archery hunting take some free advice:
Don't watch UA-cam "influencers" and think you have to mimic them concerning gear.
I spent $3400 CAD, LIFT 33, SCS kit that they didn't give me the rope, Earth colour, 10" Mathews Stabilizer, QAD integrated rest, Peep, and Spott Hogg Fast Eddie 3 pin. 🙄
