    I have probably 500 arrows through my 33 and I love it, zero regrets in my purchase. People complain that "bows are getting to expensive" but they fail to realize inflation is a thing. A Mathews Halon from 2016 actually cost the same as a Lift 33 if you account for inflation.

    I bought a phase 4 because I was encouraged back in October to get a new model So I went on the website to check it out and couldn’t find anything on the lift which is the hunting model All I could find is the title target bow I called around asking and finally someone told me you could get a lift but you might wait 6 to 8 months So I got the phase 4 cause he had several to choose from It’s still a great bow and was probably the best before this one came out The biggest difference is the shot sense which I can live without The lift will stay in production for a couple of more years and what will they have improved on by the time I get ready for a new one

    I shot the Lift 29.5, and 33 yesterday. I also brought my Phase 4 29” to compare. I did find that the draw cycle on the Lift was just a skosh more stiff toward the end of the cycle. That was at 54lbs, 29” draw length on the lift 33. The 29.5 Lift was set at 60lbs and that was not a fair comparison to my Phase 4 29 set at 54lbs. Due to shoulder issues my Phase 4 is turned down slightly less than the 60lb mod it has. You are correct on after shooting the 33 for a few shots I couldn’t really notice the difference in the draw cycle. Thats how small of a difference there is IMO. Also the 33 Lift didn’t have a stabilizer on as my P4 does, but nevertheless there was little hand shock. I should have put my stabilizer on it but, oh well. I was thinking about moving to the Lift, but I just may keep on shooting my P4. It is the shortest ata bow I have ever owned. If it wasn’t for that long riser and the pie plate sized cams nock pinch doesn’t seem to be an issue. Gone are the days of 80lb bows for this old dog. I’m glad for very efficient bow technology today. By the way, good fair review

    My LIFT33 has turned out to be somewhat disappointing because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HOW IT SHOOTS…….. I made the comment earlier about my limbs being replaced 4 times and Mathews (SCHEELS The Colony TX) replaced my bow. Only to have the limbs on that bow splinter also. Those limbs were replaced on Monday and today (Wednesday) my limbs splintered again! Nothing out of the ordinary here; 31.5/72/85….. 29.5”/472 grain Sirius Gemini arrows w/ 50 grain podium titanium half out and 125 grain field point.

      The great thing about new bows coming out every year is that you can get huge discounts on the previous year’s top bows and they are still available brand new in the box. That’s how I was able to pick up a brand new in box 2022 Ventum Pro 33 for only $800. It helps that I am an archery tech and can tune and set up my own bow and that I am not very concerned about the warranty so eBay purchases on new bows that are the previous year’s model makes perfect sense to me.

    The International Bowhunters Organization and Archery Trade Association use specific formulas to measure arrow speeds. IBO speed is measured by shooting a bow with an 80-pound draw weight (+/- 2 pounds), maximized draw length, and a 400-grain arrow. ATA speed is measured with a 70-pound draw weight (+/- .

    Is no one going to mention the non-existent valley on these lift bows??? Shot a 33 for the first time this week and it was absurd. There’s about a 1/4 of room before it’s wanting to runaway on you. Nope. Sticking with my Traverse.

    • @o.n.e.wayhunting
      @o.n.e.wayhunting Рік тому +1

      That is actually what makes a good valley and a better shooting bow. High letoff/long valley bows make you lazy, which lends to being not as good of a shot as you could be. Perfect valley for hunting and shooting in general.

    • @cinbk2154
      @cinbk2154 Рік тому

      @@o.n.e.wayhunting Interesting... So that would essentially mean that Mathews has completely changed their own outlook on what makes a better bow? The Traverse has a terrific valley (IMO). That bow is only a couple years old and you're basically suggesting that Mathews, by their own metric, would say that that is suddenly not a good shooting bow? Moreover, the Vertix had a substantial valley, and so did the Triax.
      I'll add that I also shot the '24 Hoyts, including their flagship RX-8 and, yup, you guessed... nice pronounced valley.
      It is really tough to accept the logic that this new cam with no valley is suddenly the better bow. Mathews has made a complete departure from their previous cams and apparently their competitors also think it is a good idea to have a decent valley over a hot, jumpy bow. I've not shot the 29.5 but I understand from those that have that it is worse than the 33.
      The tradeoff here is speed. They gained speed. As an elk hunter I don't think that's a great exchange rate.
      If your form sucks then work on form. But it seems disingenuous to say that hold back times, adaptability to environmental variables outside of a hunter's control, and controlled let-downs in difficult moments don't matter as much as speed. That appears to be the assessment from Mathews with this one.
      Is your form better? Sure- draw, aim, fire in a shorter interval and it may improve assuming all other mechanics are correct. There are some comparisons out there of this lift to a target bow. I would not hunt with a target bow.

    • @o.n.e.wayhunting
      @o.n.e.wayhunting Рік тому +1

      So there is valley length and then there is holding weight. I should have been more specific. Bows with 85%-90% let off tend to allow more laziness in holding on the backwall at a consistent pressure because they encourage lazy shot execution with minimal effort. A longer valley tends to rip your arm off when letting down, and even more so if you are in that over 85% let off range with a long valley. These are those bows you feel like you have to push forward to let down, which is a terrible thing. I run my PSE's at sub 85%, usually closer to 80%. It reduces what people fuss about in a hump and dump, reduces the valley length to a more overall comfortable and usable length, and allows a touch more holding weight to keep the shot execution dynamic and not lazy. My Lift 33 is running about 83% on its 85% mods, is a pleasure to let down, easy to hold on the backwall, and is an overall perfect setup for shooting and hunting.
