    Wow! im surprised you never experienced digging cuz both my baby and his/her parents dig constantly to the point where they have their own lil tunnel systems lol. and its not digging cuz I don't provide enough hiding places lol trust me they have tons of hide outs; but I guess do what works for you. they have a tunnel system that goes from their baskin spot to the middle of the cool/hot area lol its really interesting to watch them

    Most small varanids look very similar.
    Ive kept ackies like this for 5 years, they spend most of they're day in the tiles (which in the wild would be tight crevices in rocky outcrops), the only time i add substrate is when the females are gravid, other then that ive never experienced digging.

    its funny, your Storrs monitor looks just like my baby Ackie lol. also, your Ackies need a LOT more substrate to burrow in, and something to mix with the sand so they can build sturdy burrows

    Just wondering where you get your reptiles

  • @JloReptiles
    @JloReptiles  11 років тому

    Hi, thankyou very much!
    Small monitors are simple to care for, what species were you looking into?
    Pretty much just lots of space + heat + food and they do the rest!

    so u said that one of your dragons has a kink in its tale and i have a one year old central bearded with a little kink at the end of his tale.I cant find to much about it and was just wondering if u might know weather its normal for dragons to get little kinks or if its like a bone problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • @JloReptiles
    @JloReptiles  11 років тому

    I believe it is just a birth deformity, certainly not from genetics.
    It can be common but usually if its not too towards the base of the tail its not much of a problem.

      *****
      Usually people are freaking out because the cage is too small. Its weird to see people insult someone just for wanting something better for the animal. No need to call someone stupid because they think a snake should have more of a home than a little tub(even though ball pythons may not need it) You can never win with the reptile viewers of youtube.
