I enjoy Conan's animal segments way more than the other ones like Fallon & Kimmel etc. because of how Conan is with the animals. He doesn't act all terrified and like he just wants the segment to be over. (*Cough Cough*. Fallon *Cough Cough*
I even prefer Conan's animal guy over the animal guys too. Lol. I just think it makes it more enjoyable to watch when they act like how Conan does. Sometimes he's a bit weary bit 99% of the time he's cuddling holding stroking etc the animals. #TeamConanAnimals #ConansAnimalTeam

I Agree with you, but he could also allow the segment to be a platform for wildlife education to reach people it normally wouldn't. Still I find him being chill is quite good, it helps the audience appreciate the animals. I think there can be a middle ground.

Johnny Carson was classy- he let his body language be most of the humor with just occasional low volume snide comment- not yelling around nervous animals. That said, yes Conan at least touches the animals which is good.

My family had a Savannah Monitor Lizard for several years and he was the most mellow animal ever, we used to put him on a leash and walk him around the yard and occasionally he'd make a trip over to Target.
Don't think savannah monitors (I think they're also known as bosc monitors) grow as large as black throats
Savannah Monitors grow to be about 4 feet long.

It was highly unlikely the pelican would take off, due to the fact it didn't have enough of a runway as it takes a bit for one to get off the ground. I remember a umber of years ago when one landed in my backyard and it couldn't get out, like hell we where going to take it through the house, so we had to call the RSPCA to take it away.

+victronex just off the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne, Australia. There was a lake that came in off Port Phillip bay close to my house and they liked to sit in and around the rocks at the end of it.

At least they're not that likely to attack people, we've got white swans (mute swans) here in Ireland, they've been known to attack people and their wings are strong enough to break someone's arm. They're called 'mute' because they don't honk, the only noise they make is a hiss

They usually get to be around 6 feet or so
Loved the black throat. Looked healthy and happy. Monitors are beautiful lizards and some of the smartest especially the komodo dragon (yes im pretty sure i spelled it wrong.) They can learn with the same spot and click sounds to do alot of things dogs can do. Although thats not advice to go get one they have over 50 virulent bacteria in their mouth that makes them classified poisonous.

The venom is pretty mild. The bacteria in it's mouth WILL kill you.
It was a pretty recent discovery. Not a very effective venom, mind you. The bacteria will likely cause sepsis first.

The only two venomous lizards are Mexican Beaded Lizards, and Gila Monsters. The recent (old) studies of other lizards being "venomous" is inaccurate. The correct terminology of venom is not being used. Please further your readings by the real experts in this field. Toxic is not same as venom!
Your info is a little bit out of date. Several species of monitor lizards have been discovered to be venomous. I'm sure you've heard of how Komodo Dragons (the largest extant species of lizard, and a type of monitor) kill their prey with deadly bacteria in their saliva? Turns out that's not the whole truth. They're also venomous
Actually those studies did not use the correct terminology of venom. In that case the only two venomous lizards are the Gila Monster, and Mexican Beaded Lizard. Toxic is not the same as Venom.

I'm not sure what studies you're referring to, but recent studies by the Smithsonian, among others, have proven that Komodo dragons and some other monitor lizards are venomous. They don't use bacteria to kill prey, they have venom glands and inject venom into their prey. This is not surprising if you look at evolutionary history. Many snakes used to have venom and have actually evolved to LOSE their venom because it was no longer needed, but venom is and was more common than previously believed
