Dude, I'll be honest here. I'm not sure I would have the integrity to refuse a 120k/month offer. You deserve all the best in the world for being this honest, good of character and driven enough to put yourself out there like this. Great video!
Big respect, I'm a tiny content creator in comparison to you and other CSGO content creators, and even I have received dozens of offers from CSGO gambling sites for considerable money. Never done it despite the temptation due to my views on gambling and the literal fact that you have to accept that kids WILL be using them. The easy decision was to say i'll take the money as im just a tiny cog and its not on me to take a stand but still resisted and delighted to see this coming out now and being discussed. Its too easy for people to not take their own personal responsibility, "its not my job to stop this and others do it so I might as well just take the money" but that happening 100 times floods the entire CS scene with gambling that has very little barrier to entry for kids and its tough to see having been involved deeply in CS for 23 years.

I feel like the situation of gambling in CSGO is already beyond repair and there's nothing anyone can do about it, but thank you Jeff for at least informing others of how bad the situation is and how dangerous it is, mad respect to you.
This could all be stopped if Valve puts restrictions on how the inventory and trading system works. But they won't, because they make money on this as well. I've been saying it for ages, and I'll keep saying it; Gabe is not your friend. He does not care if kids become addicted to gambling, as long as he's making bank.
@@DeliriumzzZ They only gain from Steam transactions (i.e. full cut from in-game store or proportional cut from Steam Community Marketplace), Valve has shown a disliking to gambling sites previously, it's an elusive treadmill problem akin to cheating, they care for what's fun for them to produce and fighting them is clearly not fun, otherwise if they actually cared about the money they'd be churning out slop left and right, people would gladly buy into an Operation (Battle Pass).
I started off years ago at age 13-14 with csgo case openings and gambling. I even remember the name of the site I had used. It has ruined my life, won thousands, sure but lost so much more, moved into the crypto casino gambling scene and even real casinos and lost even more there. I’m currently in recovery, trying my hardest to not gamble, although I still do gamble, my last bet being yesterday and I’m thinking about depositing tonight. I am now about to turn 22. I believe we need more people talking about this. I’m sure it’s ruined so many people’s lives who are the same age as me, yet there aren’t many resources targeted towards our generations gambling problems. Thanks for the great video!

You're one of not many people who touch this topic and try to fight it, which makes you one of not many people who are on the right side of this battle. You are a person with the right mindset and morals, huge respect to you. I have made a whole presentation inspired by your movement about the problem of gambling in videogames and presented it in my school to spread the awareness. Don't think you are the only one in this battle. Your community is with you. It is tough to fight whole corporations, but with little steps, changes will be made one day. An absolute banger of a video, you are doing the right thing!
wow I never realized the amount of money they actually have. I have grown up watching gambling promotions since I was 10-12, so glad I never got addicted
Good video. I am probably yet another example of this stuff - almost a decade ago while being 14, I also got heavily into CS:GO skins. Now in my case I was MUCH more invested in the actual in-game opening. People around me IRL were a bad influence too, I had one friend who specifically knew some Russian websites, which had 'better odds' and constantly pushed me to use them. And maybe they did... who knows - I got my first knife from one of them. But despite that my fascination and, pretty much, addiction to case openings got me to blow all of my money. I think that there are life experiences that can emulate the rush similar to this sort of gambling, but without all the money being lost. Some of those can be video games, that let you experience random and the thrill of gain without actually losing anything. However I think that unfortunately part of why CS:GO gambling is so big in the first place, is because the thing you gamble with is real money. Due to this money being in play, your perceived potential 'gains' are likely much higher than any harmless 'gamble' / random chance you could take. (Also in my opinion this is one of the many reasons why children should be kept away from the Internet entirely)
Jeff! I’m so glad you are sticking to who you are to stand strong against gambling! I know a while back you said you’d lost, but fighting a losing battle is still a highly noble cause. Consider yourself one of now two youtubers whose ads I dont skip 🔥
W guy with a W take. I hope more people become as honest and humble as you are. Who cares what backlash you might face. At the end of the day, you should be at peace that you are not ruining some kid's life by pushing him/her into a gambling addiction. Well done!
i dont really watch other CS:GO content creators, so it was a huge shock to see how big this problem really is. 75-80% are absolutely huge numbes, and a disgrace. thank you once again for being a voice of reason and transparency.
Haven't seen the video yet but from almost giving up and begrudgingly accepting gambling related sponsorships to this! Big respect and regardless how much of an impact it makes as a whole you can be proud that you did the right thing
I can't stress how well made this video is, and what it actually showcases. Well done, and thank you! As you mentioned, the issue is everywhere not just in one place - the issue is, how can we stop what's happening? People are always going to go after the money, as you've highlighted really well (incl the game developers). So, the only way would be to discourage people from actually gambling, but yet that's not working even with all the restrictions and laws that are seemingly being bypassed anyway. Government's can't really regulate the entire web, and that in itself causes another issue with privacy - ie. They can control the websites that are being shown, but if that's the case, it'll impede on people's freedom. Wish there was a way of fixing it but I really can't see how.
Im a small time creator when it comes to CSGO. Have not taken any gabling sponsorships, but its very tempting seeing how much more they pay, than other sponsors. This is a great video, but i dont think much will change. Since in the end, if youtube/streaming is your job, its very hard to say no to 10k a month for gambeling vs 2k a month for non gamba sponsors. So kudos to you for saying no to 120k.

Habibi. I know it means very little but i subscribed to you for this comment. Keep it up big man.
You've yourself a new sub
No one would offer you anything with such smak channel, do not lie bro.
You just got yourself a sub
Don't play csgo anymore but i've still let a sub for you! Stay true!
First time watcher. UA-cam put you on my front page feed and i skipped you few times because i wasn't sure if i'd learn anything more about this topic. Oh my am i glad that i gave you a chance. This was so well done with all the research, graphs, interviews... this is near-professional level of journalism (heck, this is actually more effort than 90% of news media does nowadays). Can't wait for part 2. Will link this video forwards to people who might be interested.
I feel like the situation of gambling in CSGO is already beyond repair and there's nothing anyone can do about it, but thank you Jeff for at least informing others of how bad the situation is and how dangerous it is, mad respect to you.
Pretty much true, I felt that like 5 years ago that damage is already there.
Jeff this is huge! You really have always kept your morals, and seem like a genuinely good guy. Keep fighting the good fight
Much respect Jeff definitely a huge issue and it needs to be addressed
Hey man only up from here. Best of luck on ur journey to recovery
@@Junya01 I appreciate it! Yup, just gotta take it day by day
@@DiarypopBest of luck brother I am currently 21 years old and my story and yours are pretty much the same. I am currently much better now , sending prayer to your side best of luck!
cannot give u enough props for making this video. this whole situation is so fucked up and i only just realized the danger i was in when i was gambling (underage) with paysafecards few years ago. fortunately i won what i was going for and got out even with profit but all these ppl sharing their huge losses just makes me sad. Keep up the good work!
Huge respect to you. It feels like one guy is trying to fight the entire industry. I hope other content creators learn something from you.
I lost all my money at 14. Lucky I was broke so I only lost like 150$
This video is absolutely necessary and it has been for a long time. Thank you Jeff for being one of the most responsible people on the community
Big respect for speaking up for this!! You're THE ONLY big CSGO youtuber I've seen do such a well documented, edited, and hard worked video on the matter. It's a huge issue for sure.
Again, thank you for doing this, Jeff. You got my upmost respect for doing so. Can't wait for Part 2.
Edit: I really hope this video blows up big. We need huge changes. With the law, and with our society overall. Hats off for calling out the streamers and youtubers promoting this bs. You have big balls, Jeff. And a huge heart.
Welcome back Jeff, what a devious ploy! Can’t wait to finish this video.
This video really should have at least a million views, same with the follow-up video. It's a damn shame.
Why was this video not on top of my feed for the last weeks? This deserves millions of views.
This is actually terrifying! I mean... I do watch a lot of CSGO content and see those ads/promotions all the time. I think I've registered on one of those websites through a promo code, opened my whatever amount of free cases and haven't touched it since. But I also don't have a huge history in addiction....
Really difficult topic, this one. Glad you're picking it up and doing a documentary on it! Looking forward to the second part :)
This video was a masterpiece. You managed to keep my attention span for nearly an hour, and are exposing and bringing to light a very serious issue. Great job man.
Such an incredibly detailed and well thought-out and organized video. Well done Jeff. Keep it up! Really excited to see part 2. You're doing the world a huge favor by taking this risk. For whatever it's worth, you'll always have my support!
Huge respect for you and your work! I am so impressed that you turned down the money and chose to venture down this path instead.
Truly a breath of fresh air.
Hey Jeff, there is a crazy amount of work put into this, thanks for making it.
this video is a masterpiece. insanely good work.
and mad respect to you. turning down these insane amounts of easy money only to get nothing but trouble in return. i can't imagine.....
and not just doing the right thing as the only person on the internet, but also committing yourself and your time to actively fighting this whole sytem and situation. despite all costs, effort, trouble and harm to your own career....
you're insane, you are great, you're a legend. i wish you all all all the best
Will always love how you stand for something, one of the few content creators with integrity
Congrats, you're making an impact. Twitch just stated that they will crack down on CSGO gambling on the platform
I am a victim of CSGO gambling. Started when I was 13 now I’m 21 and still having that issue. I’ve only lost around 1-2k but still it’s so addicting and easy for people to get on these 3rd party sites
Where did you get money to gamble with at 13?
@@TheRealCatof work. When I was 14 I had a small baby sitting business in my little town. Would make like 100 a week and gamble it all. Shits terrible
Dude, what a massive Video. Big respect ❤ I wish more people in the scene take the problem seriously.
Jeff goes off from UA-cam for months and when he deliver right and correct content, his videos gets all sorts of age restricted/ non-monetised and all and Posture check
I’m so happy you exist. The good you do for this community is *literally* unmatched - you are a savior to the people (especially the vulnerable young people) of this community.
Thanks a lot for this video and let's make it viral! It's just sad how none of those platforms ban such a content despite it's clearly against their policies. They're just greedy for the money.
never subbed to a channel so fast. This is a serious problem for all of video games, not just cs, needs to be talked about more
The level of respect I have for you sir is massive. I don’t know if I could turn down that kind of money, even if I knew it was degenerate. Granted, I had no idea it was THIS bad. Such an important video.
Finally somebody actually does something against this cruelty, even though it may end his carrier (+ Respect)
What you are doing is a big step in the right direction, finally addressing the biggest problem in this community. Where sadly a lot of content creators only care about the money they receive and not the aftermath of where it came from
Really sad, after 4 days not even 200k have watched this, yet.
I already shared it to my mates in our whatsapp group, i hope everyone else help to share such important topics.
"Very much respect your kindness, if it were me, I am sure I couldn't do it. Watching your channel evolve from climbing the ladder to now, I truly appreciate subscribing to your channel. I hope good luck will always find you."
I really hope that this will be the video to change everything. Well done Jeff, thank you for highlighting this like no one else ever has.
Much respect for you Jeff! Thanks for shedding light on these miserable practises. Looking forward to part 2!
Mad respect for making this video man. Bring on the pressure you’re doing a great thing!
This is extremely commendable. Big respect to you making a change in this toxic community
Dude, you have my lifetime respect.
It would be easy for me or other people to say we also wouldn't take the money since we are not in that position.
With all honesty I must admit, I am not sure what I would do.
Hats off to you sir, hope good things happen to/for you, you deserve it.
In the name of the community:
Thank you.
Thank for your work, thank you for using your visibility to show this better than any of us would have even with a big documentary video about it
Respect my guy. I was worried seeing your tweets that you'd actually join these Mafias but I'm glad you chose to take this path. I hope this video will be an eye-opener for everyone, especially the last point you made on the valve cases. I see the trading community actively acting as if they're above gambling and yet all their big influencers are advertising valve case opening the entire time.
I respect you for what you did. I fell for the gambling loophole when I was like 15 and managed to not lose a lot of cash. I will always support you and cheer for your cause. Can't wait for part 2. Love you Jeff !
Not a gambler myself, but I hope this get seen by everyone, even people who don't play counter-strike! Thanks for the work Jeff!
Your work is as fascinating as it is important for this community ! I used to play Fifa and was waiting for somebody to do the same inquiry into Ultimate Team, which is not even a third party product. Can't wait for part 2 ! I hope you get all the exposure you deserve
I am so proud of you, Hungangangangangan. You are truly making a difference in this world
Big respect man, not the clutch we expected, but the clutch we needed
Huge respect Jeff, it's really sickening what is happening with all of those sites :(
Keep it up man!
I have seen you featured in other youtubers videos, and have watched one or two of your videos, but I can definitively say this.
This video has garnered so much respect from me to you. It is this video alone that has earned my subscription. One subscription isn't much, I know that. I know UA-cam doesn't even really work with subscriptions much regardless. But I want you to know that this video hit, and hit hard.
I _know_ how prevalent this issue is, and how insane the offers are. And I believe you fully when you say this is "career suicide". Yet, you still decided to do what was right and go against these horrible systems and corporate giants.
You are a well-spoken individual, and this video was written really well.
But most of all, you are clearly a person with a good heart and I respect you immensely for it.
Very important video. Commenting just to get the engagement up a bit and hopefully getting this recommended to more people.
Tu peux être fier de ton travail et de ton intégrité. Merci de montrer qu'il reste des personnes avec de belles valeurs ❤️ t'es le goat Jeff!
Deam i support your mission on revealing the foul play of 3rd party gambling sites. This video looks like a lot of work but i think its absolutely worth it
You are one of the voices we desperately need, so young kids don't have to live through this bullshit portrayed in your video. I hope you will be heard. Being the one standing against a whole industry and a bunch of people profitting must be exhausting. Stay strong
Im a small time csgo content creator myself affiliate streamer on twitch & have never plugged an affiliate code. Infact I encourage my audience to not spend the money on cases as it’s all against you in the odds. Live vicariously through someone else or you’ll end up burning thru your pockets! It’s sickening what these people doing to their own community. Stay strong y’all eventually those who stick this out and not sell their souls to the gamba sites will be rewarded ❤
Édifiant. Merci pour ce travail de qualité et les couilles de pas avoir participé a ce désastre depuis tant d'années
translation:
Uplifting. Thank you for this quality work and the balls for not having participated in this disaster for so many years
Honestly, you have really opened my eyes on what is happening in the csgo gambling scene. I am a victim of a gambling addiction, started through these third party websites, and have lost more than I would like to admit. This video really put into perspective what I am doing, and I am convinced I will stop now, due to the harsh nature of this scene. You should make a patreon to earn money considering you have turned down these offers, I, and I'm assuming many others would be more than happy to support you through this. Thank you.
Massive respect to you Jeff. No one steps forward for good like you have. You have chosen the path of the brave.
Literally 1 day later after this vid, anomaly uploads gambling vid
This video deserves to be shared. Thank you for your work Jeff !
Really love the efforts you're taking man. It is tough but keep up the good work
Just saw only the intro and i also spend so much money on that shit and really can relate. Thank you for the informational work❤️
I cannot express myself enough of how important this is and how happy I am you did this video. Thank you!
My friend was 14 when he played Crash on CSGO Cases or some website like that. He bet $1, then his mother asked him to get his sister out of kindergarten. He forgot that he bet money. He went and took his sister out, came home, noticed that it was still going, and cashed out $500. He was so happy. He bought a M9 Doppler, played with it for a week, and traded it back to the gambling website and lost it.
I started gambling when I was 14yo by betting on pro matches, with all the odds written directly into the official live streams 👌 thank you for your service Jeff
Damn, this is a very good video and kudos to you for your very extensive research into the matter. Let's hope Valve takes more extensive action, because I don't think you can trust people to not be greedy.
Big respect for you! Most of "content-creators" nowadays are just money hungry and give a f* about morality and their audience. Great to see that some people (like you) are still out there using their audience for something good. I wanted to donate you some money for your work because i find it very important but i cannot find anything to do so - Shows to me how outstanding you are. No other content-creator with this subscriber count i know doesn't have the possibility to donate extra money in some way.
Incredibly important video! Thank you for your dedication and the work you put in here!
Yes, WHY have noone else done this yet?!?!?! About freakin time. Thanks so much!!
I just want to say thank you for doing this, not for me, for my kids. These 12y olds gambling away all thay had... Respect.
Magnifique travail d’investigation. Tu devrais aller plus loin avec toutes les informations que tu as en ta possession, notamment en informer les autorités nationales compétentes (DGCCRF pour la France), et leur pointer les sites, streamers et youtubers impliqués.
Amazing work Jeff! This needs more attention and should be changed. Get rid of these sites, we dont need them.
I wish I could triple like the video Jeff.
Well done.
Addiction is not taken seriously enough.
Thank you for this video! Props for not taking the easy money and instead educating people about this hidden gambling. I wish you all the best!
Thank you for making this. I started my addiction to gambling when I was 15 in csgo gambling. I'm 25 now and I still go through occasional bouts of blowing a whole paycheck in one night trying to make back all I've lost. In csgo alone steam says I've spent over $4k. Its been well over 5x that amount on other real gambling websites. I've seeked counseling but I have never recovered.
I hope this actually has an effect on not only the community but online gambling websites in general
