agree. Spurs need a PG.
I don't think it's that far fetched. I think Wemby was forced to play 5 because Zach C. defense was so bad. I think there is a world where they flirt with idea of moving Wemby to a PF spot so they can take advantage of mismatches but ultimately I don't think they'll draft Clingan. Not a hot take in my opinion. Spurs backup centers were bad and there's a good chance they'd still be able to snag a pg with 8. I think the spurs have more belief that Jeremy will develop into a viable wing than Zach into a viable center.
Spurs will pick matas over clingan. Dilly at 8 is on point
I could see sarr topic and dillingham all off the board by 4 tbh hawks pick sarr wizards pick topic and rockets pick dillingham since they have a bunch of wings and use him as a backup pg so I could see the spurs taking risacher and donvon if that happens

His only bad take in my opinion. Vic played way better at center this year and playing with a 7’2 non floor spacing big man won’t help. Vic is a center who just finished 2nd in dpoy as a rookie he needs a pf that can space the floor and has versatility on defense. Hopefully he can get that in the next year or two

It’s slightly less crazy since the Spurs have another pick at 8…there will still be at least 1 high level guard left at 8 but Clingan would 100% be gone by then.

@@bbcpfghs Spurs need wings as well. They only have Vassell Keldon and Branham and Sochan as their 2, 3, 4. Wembanyama might prefer playing 4 but with Sochan he has to play the 5 plus he was much effective when he has all the paint. Im drafting the best player available at either wings/guard and take the other position at 8. Unless Clingan suddenly developed a jumpshot pairing Clingan with Wembanyama will only logjam the paint even more on offense.

@@kdt35503 The truth of the matter is we don't have enough talent to not take best available. Once we get some one who completely dominates a position, then start drafting for positional fit, but it makes zero sense not to take the best player available in the meantime.

I understand the NBA hates the south and wants Trae out of Atlanta but they’ve been selling tickets finally with Trae so there’s almost a zero chance Atlanta trades him. Why would this pick convince the Hawks to rebuild when people see Sarr as a fringe all-star at best?
If you're getting into conspiracies, I feel like the argument is that this is the draft to throw a team like Atlanta a bone so no one questions drafts with actual superstars (See New Jersey winning in 2000, Toronto in 2006).

As a Spurs fan, I would throw up. I get the idea of the twin towers for a good defense but the offense would be pretty bad. Wemby needs space in the paint to operate which is why he exploded after Collins was moved to the bench. If the Spurs were to get a center, he would have to be a spacer
So then draft the highest profile guy available and trade him for backcourt talent

I would say Cam is more of a 2.. Amen is everything..so unique and can play all the positions. Dillion to me is the only true 3.. that position could be upgraded. But I agree we need a rim protector.

They need a PG. Amen could eventually develop into a Point Forward but right now we only have FVV leading the offense and he only has one more year on his contract.
I like Clingan at 4, but I still feel that a 3 and D wing will be prioritized over PG at in this draft. Goal isn't to get to the playoffs next year, but to win multiple championships.

Spurs drafting Clingan is nuts knowing that they have no spacing no shooting no playmaking and no defense apart from Wemby and Sochan at times lol.
Not sure why you selecting two bench players for the Spurs. If they can’t get Risacher with #4, they will get Buzelis, who would replace Julian Champagnie. The Spurs were at the top of the league in fast break points. Clingen would just slow them down and is not athletic enough to defend the perimeter

I'm most excited about Reed Sheppard , I think in the right situation he has a chance to be a star . Most times Kentucky guards pan out with the exception of Tyler Ulis, Ashton Havana and Ty Ty Washington

If I'm the Spurs I'm signing a vet PG who can steady the ship and not risking anything on any of these mid guards in this draft outside of Topic who will probably be gone. That being said I'm taking Reed Shep and Dalton Knetch who will day one be productive floor spacing hard nose players to support Wemby but can also grow with him.

Reed seems interesting but it opens up more question marks for the Bulls going forward. The biggest roster weakness by far is lack of positional size and defensive acumen beyond the guard slots. They regularly trot out 4 guard-sized players in lineups and they don't even have one young big or F/C. Reed might be better but I'd be happier with Missi at that slot.

Tbh since 2019 we have had some incredible draft classes with a lot of hyped up prospects. This year feels kind of quiet. I havent really heard people hyping up this year's prospects. Zach edey was a big deal at the ncaa level, but it just seems like he would be a 2nd round prospect. The 2024-25 rookie of the year seems unpredictable. Dont know who is going to be a boom or bust.

Spurs getting Clingan and Dillingham would be absolutely insane!
Why are people saying Holland got holes in his game. All of these players has holes. Alex sarr avg 9 points, 4 rebounds and for a center has a terrible FG%, Center should shoot close to 60% due to pick and rolls. Holland motor is the highest in this Draft and coaching in G league is more of the issue than the players.
Spurs need a PG. preferably one who has decent defense in perimeter. They has a shoot creator in Vassel. Defensive duo to pair with Wemby in Sochan. They just need a PG who can get the ball to either Vassel or Wemby at right time and right place.

I'll eat my shoes if the Spurs take Clingan at 4. Makes no sense. Much more likely to take the best of the wings available at 4 (unless Topic is available), and then one of the Kentucky guards at 8 since they can be fairly confident the teams at 5-7 won't pick those guards.

Clingan to the Spurs is genius. VW cannot continue to play the way he plays to make up for a short team. The Spurs are getting killed, absolutely killed inside. Clingan plus VW will shut down that non-sense. But also, D.C. will give VW some time to sit and rest, meaning his BB life will be extended for many years. Otherwise, VW will continue to have to pick up the slack inside without any help. The Spurs will still get a quality PG at the 8th spot with Dillingham/Sheppard/Castle/Holland and possibly Topic will be available. So it's all good.
I agree, draft his teammate castle. 2 way PG, Vassell shown he can put up 20 a night. Work on castle 3pt shot, Ggs to the league.
