This is the first cod since BO4 that I’ve played this hard for this long, usually I play for about 2 weeks and give up so it’s going well for me so far, constant events and so much stuff fixed from last years mess
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) was the first COD game I got. I really liked it, and still to this day I play it. It was really good. When I saw MWII, I almost pre-ordered it. I'm glad I didn't. When I saw MWIII, I almost pre-ordered it. I'm ALSO glad I didn't. Nothing has lived up to what I saw in MW2019, and it really sucks. Here's to hoping Gulf War is exactly what we want. Great video as always, man!
I heavily agree but I feel like the vocal cod community also only wants old stuff without innovations at the same time... Like mw19's mini map and compass system was super innovative but you'll have players that did not put in any time to understand the new system so they say "iT wAs cHaNgE fOr tHe sAkE oF cHanGe..." Same with all of mw19's remake maps with new layouts... they're clever but the people that hate learning new things said "oH wE gOt MoRe sAfE SpAcEs"
I keep wondering if I’m going to be playing COD all my life and I’m only 31. Are we going to be grinding Mastery Camos for the next 30 years? Will things ever really change? It’s a weird but exciting thought. No matter what happens in my life or how old I get, I’m still going to game.
MWIII stole a map from BO3. Emergency on MWIII is literally the middle part of the map of Cryo on BO3, they’ve changed some entrances here and there to make the map flow better but it’s almost exactly the same
But player retention is better than compared to last year so actually COD is doing better than before. Tbh, the OG MW2 maps are keeping me on MP along with the new maps which for the most part are ok. I'm not getting sick of them like last year's, where the maps just got dull and the movement was flat as a pancake. MWIII is actually my favourite COD since Cold War which was also great, before that BO3...
"let's be honest you dont miss MW2" actually WE DO miss MW2, most people who played mw2 were adults it wasnt only kids who played. Yes the game was broken but it wasnt unbalanced, anybody could use the m16 or relentlessly and thats what made it memorable. MW2 literally INVENTED killstreaks. You cant assume we dont miss mw2 bc how the hell do you exactly know? We do miss MW2 MP, if it only came with the remastered it wouldve been played for years with the classic UIs and mechanics
Kill streaks were invented in cod4 not modern warfare 2. Also it’s all just rose coloured glasses. It was a time where you got a game and played it for what it was. It’s not like that anymore and you have 50% of players wanting slow gameplay and 50% wanting cracked out sweat gameplay. We are in an age where developers are so big and have to listen to so much response that the best thing they can do is use data. MW2 is a horrible game in 2024. Every issue people complain about in todays cod was an issue back then as well.
2:20 *"They didn't bother changing up the look just clicked and dragged the same file between games"* does this sound like *Copy & Paste BO4 which also failed* that I have been saying for years , Activision literally just took BO3 and put it boots on the ground and call it a new game.
I honestly love it for what it is. I love grow house. But there is a massive amount I wish I could do. Like… why don’t they have any offline special opps?? I miss that shit
Nostalgia is nice if you mix it in with a lot of new content as well. Since CW, they have taken nostalgia to the extreme tho. Remaster and content we’ve recently seen is getting added more to the game then new content. I loved the remastered maps in MWIII, MW19 and CW. Seeing old weapons come back is cool too but they mess them up by not giving them the original sound
Who knows where this road for call of duty will go? There’s only a certain amount of time until the road becomes the end. And once that happens… it’s all over until you know it.
I dont need to remember old cods. I have ps3 and black op1, black ops 2 and ghost. I love play black ops 1, Mac10, galil,ak47, olympia,M60( the pig), fn Fal,M16. Good zombies maps:Kino der toten, five, ascension
In my opinion yes. All I hear is complaints about the game and how it’s not like the good old days. If you don’t like it then cool, don’t cry a River oml.
What annoys me the most is they will rehash these maps and guns over and over again but refuse to make another complete remaster of a game. MW remastered in 2016/17 was the only CoD in since BO2 that kept me playing the whole year, unbalanced quirks and all. Just give me that again and I'll be happy, nostalgia doesn't have to be complicated or limit what new games have to offer.
I feel like players are blaming devs for “forcing them” to pay for bundles. I also just read a comment saying, “I hate having to move onto a different game every year.”
This video has a lot of very good points I have been telling people this for years example my buddy wanted me to buy MW3 but I refused because it was basically the same game but I have also noticed how much backlash they get when they do try to do something new like ghosts and I actually personally like that game and I think they should make a second one all new maps and weapons continue the storyline or something or just make a whole new Call of Duty world fresh news story mode fresh new characters fresh new guns
See this video right here highlights the exact issue with modern cod games, never realized what the issue was until I watched this video now it’s all clear I mean I love black ops 1 and that was entirely its own thing a whole new experience that many of us latched onto, the more I think about it I really do like the new stuff from every cod more than the nostalgic, but at the same time I love seeing remade maps vanguard would have been a much better game in my eyes if they had a few more maps from world at war… it’s a hairy topic for sure
I think there are now many new fps games which are F2P games....And now cod just releases a same reskin MP game every year which is at a full price $70.
For me mw19 wasn’t a rerun it was a new beginning for me, I never got into pubs back when cod 4- mw3 on 360 was new. Heck I didn’t even have an Xbox or internet! Same with Cold War, all those maps (most of them atleast) were new ish to me. Same with vanguard (but I skipped it cus it was to trash to be worth it back at the start)
I stopped playing back in mid 2023, because I was tired of the hackers/modders. Then officially stopped playing in November because Zombies was getting boring...
Skill based matching to keep people paying for those microtransactions is the problem. And it would kill the profit margins to revert to the old style, so we might as well forget COD.
survival mode from OG MW3 should return (but improved this time, unlike mw2019 one) A return of Extinction would be sick too I'm sick and tired of Zombies, and the devs clearly ran out of ideas for that mode
We new maps, but I did enjoy crash from COD 2019. To be honest, COD games are the only games I play. Nothing out there floats my boat despite the SSBM& the cheaters.
There is nothing to work toward in cod nowadays. It use to be prestige, now it means nothing. Camo grinds can be cool but the fact that you have to use your shotgun to level 20 to unlock the last sniper makes it so useless. Also the fact that there are a thousand camos that no one will care about getting gold anymore. It’s just playing the same game and same maps over and over without any objective. No one cares to even win a MP match, as long as they have the most kills.
Didn’t they just announce that COD recently had its highest active player count in years? Also, palworld had people playing it a week. Not the best example
Funny how the video is about changing the formula and 80% of the comments just say "remake this, remake that" seems like a majority has definitely missed the actual point he tried to make imo
People always praise the classic COD games, but hardly anyone actually takes the time to download and play them again. Meanwhile, I'm over here patiently waiting for hours just to find a lobby and play with someone.
Resident Evil was like this once, but they changed and innovate things. I think Activision just do what Capcom did, and it certainly have some parallels. Like RE4 (Original) is MW2019 loved by the community when it first released, RE5 is MWII good but can't keep up with the last one, then RE6 is MWIII, hated and just copy and paste of the last one. I hope Activision listen to it's playerbase instead of ignoring them.
Its not the nostalgia that kills the game. Its the devs that try to get us used to unfinished broken shit. Of course CoD can try new stuff like they did with Advanced warfare. The Problem is, that if things dont work you have to get back to origin. But for CoD and all other games(Pokémon, battlefield etc) they seem to have unlearned what once was the good reciepe for a good game
The problem is greed and content. The Zombies was a genuinely fun mode and had a chance to be something great, but they've barely added a thing to it, so now its gone stale. The multiplayer is great, but it's just completely remake with any originals being bad. And you all know about the pvp
I think Activision needs to do is bring us a proper set of characters instead of operators, a good story and round based zombies (either tho am a die hard cold war fan), multiplayer needs more variety and more towards original maps then remakes, campaigns needs to learn from there previous game and how to write a story again.
Remade maps are nothing without the gameplay, movement, weapons, perks, spawns, killstreaks etc. We really just need remastered games, like when they did MWR
To be fair, Fortnite's OG season was intended over 2 years ago to implement old and new weapons and mechanics while maintaining its identity, but it ended badly when the next chapter entered ruining what made Fortnite. Seems like COD has been falling off because instead of remastering their games, they preferred to shift them to remake and make them live service while looking so identical to their recent games. This is the mark that AAA games are no longer great than they used to, and older games as well as indie games are thriving.
Remastering maps for new games is cool....to an extent. Once they do it several years in a row (shipment), it gets repetitive, boring, bland, etc. Remember how awesome warzone was during its first few months? EVERYBODY was playing it. It was the first time COD actually branched out into the battle royale trend in its own way. It was new. It was different. Nowadays, they're pretty much relying on nostalgia and bundles to keep their new games relevant. And they're struggling. MW3 2023 suffered from this fate.
it's not nostagia it's the matchmaking there using thats killing it if "Ping is king' like they said in there matchmaking blog then why can't we have the option to search for matches with the best connection quality like Black ops 2 did back in 2012? i understand skill is a factor when it comes to the matchmaking but its sacrificing your connection quality for that purpose is a MAJOR RED FLAG i would rather search for matches with the best connection quality over skill anyday.. it worked in World at War, Black ops 1 and Black ops 2 so why not use them now?
its the gameplay and features that make the maps ass imo. most ppl dont have a problem w CoD bringing back maps from the glory days. it’s how u bring them back.

I play MW2019 too
Mw19 sucks 💀 I don't know what u all like in it tbh
Big trash maps
Campers in every corner
Time to kill is just ridiculous if I see u first u die
And a lot of cons

They also apparently forgot what zombies is since now we just have dmz zombies
Damn bro calm down
Solid strong vid. Great content
This is why I still play the old ones. They’re still amazing on PS3.
The worst thing about Call Of Duty is the people that play it.
:(
Fr. If ppl would stop buying the shitty cods they release every year, they'd actually learn and make improvements
So glad I didn't but or play cold war. They prey on nostalgia so hard. BO1 can never be replaced!
I dont need to remember old cods.
I have ps3 and black op1, black ops 2 and ghost.
I love play black ops 1,
Mac10, galil,ak47, olympia,M60( the pig), fn Fal,M16.
Good zombies maps:Kino der toten, five, ascension
In my opinion yes. All I hear is complaints about the game and how it’s not like the good old days. If you don’t like it then cool, don’t cry a River oml.
Let's go another t dawg vid
got you!
Simple question
No its not killing cod its bringing back clsssic days again with a mix of modernized gameplay
Our og days are gone 😢😢
I think that if they allow mod support and server browser will solve all cod problems but we will never get that😢
MW3 Already killed by Warzone Since Rebirth
We gotta stop comparing new cods to old cod. People need to learn how to move on and adapt to new playstyles
Nostalgia is the reason call of duty is even alive right now
This video has a lot of very good points I have been telling people this for years example my buddy wanted me to buy MW3 but I refused because it was basically the same game but I have also noticed how much backlash they get when they do try to do something new like ghosts and I actually personally like that game and I think they should make a second one all new maps and weapons continue the storyline or something or just make a whole new Call of Duty world fresh news story mode fresh new characters fresh new guns
Summary when: companies become too big, they play it safe and start-ups is where the innovation is at
Me personally I really enjoy mw3 multiplayer
It was the last 'good' cod
I hope that mw4 that may be going to release after the bo2 remake is very similar to ghosts
Skill based matching to keep people paying for those microtransactions is the problem. And it would kill the profit margins to revert to the old style, so we might as well forget COD.
Literally, you spitting facts
Good topic!
survival mode from OG MW3 should return (but improved this time, unlike mw2019 one)
A return of Extinction would be sick too
I'm sick and tired of Zombies, and the devs clearly ran out of ideas for that mode
We new maps, but I did enjoy crash from COD 2019. To be honest, COD games are the only games I play. Nothing out there floats my boat despite the SSBM& the cheaters.
i want a totally new game with new maps and new guns and with mw 2019's fluid movement that would hit the spot
Idk where you’re getting your stats from but MW3 peaked on steam a couple of days ago
Having some flashbacks to Blizzard Activision literally being bood for years for "You think you do but you don't" 😂
100% truth I play mw3 from time to time but i don't get any sort of excitement....we don't even get to prestige for rewards
The realest truth about cod I've ever heard 💯
I agree with that because cod is just making remakes of past games just for them to feel like the good old days in cod.
I’m so sick this Warzone area
To be honest I'd like them to make another futuristic COD with Jetpacks and such.
Same
Player numbers are not dropping
Remastering maps for new games is cool....to an extent. Once they do it several years in a row (shipment), it gets repetitive, boring, bland, etc. Remember how awesome warzone was during its first few months? EVERYBODY was playing it. It was the first time COD actually branched out into the battle royale trend in its own way. It was new. It was different.
Nowadays, they're pretty much relying on nostalgia and bundles to keep their new games relevant. And they're struggling. MW3 2023 suffered from this fate.
it's not nostagia it's the matchmaking there using thats killing it
if "Ping is king' like they said in there matchmaking blog then why can't we have the option to search for matches with the best connection quality like Black ops 2 did back in 2012?
i understand skill is a factor when it comes to the matchmaking but its sacrificing your connection quality for that purpose is a MAJOR RED FLAG
i would rather search for matches with the best connection quality over skill anyday.. it worked in World at War, Black ops 1 and Black ops 2 so why not use them now?
Tdawg pls reply i love ur vids
The problem was the hacks the spam report to shadow banned to banned
its the gameplay and features that make the maps ass imo.
most ppl dont have a problem w CoD bringing back maps from the glory days.
it’s how u bring them back.
