You need Nerd Stuff 10, Wealth 10, and Weird Science 4. Awareness 8 helps you avoid shedding blood during assembly.

I have to disagree with your opinion on Rally. Using that first turn allows my sniper to take a 2nd shot, which basically means 2 enemies scratched off instantly. Also, it allows 3 of my team to round up their remaining AP for ambushes, which are very effective! I think this game can literally be won or lost in the first turn, so this is great for me! Thanks for the guides man 👌🏻
Marked Target isn't just for the sniper. It works for the entire group, and early on you won't want to be heavily investing every single point into one skill. Some characters will want to invest in three skills, so it will take a while to get their accuracy up. It's a really great skill on a secondary sniper too. Like a medic/lockpicker who has nothing better to do, and that combination also makes it so they don't have to split their duties with movement all that much like they would with assault rifles. That kind of sniper will usually end up with 8-10 AP, which isn't enough for two shots anyway. On top of that, the 50% extra damage for precision strikes is enormous on bosses. Plus, your secondary sniper can mark, and your primary can blast the crap out of them with Masterful Precision.
Also, currently Antiques Appraiser is bugged. You can get unlimited cash with it by selling all of your junk, and then buying it back again and again. Blast Radius should affect ALL grenades too, not just those that deal damage. That means it should work with smoke grenades for a huge group evasion.
Selling stuff as antiques is mindblowing, got 300k selling on item near the end of the game :) Now I got it very early in my second game and it really makes things a lot easier.
What was it you sold? {edit} you likely don’t remember or didn’t notice what you sold since you probably hit sell all junk, I didn’t realize this when i typed my comment because I wasn’t totally sure how the perk worked at the time, I thought you could sell anything and it would have that chance of being sold as an antique, and the reason I asked what you sold in the first place was because I thought maybe you sold the expensive toaster parts, which are actually potentially important depending whether you want the toaster companion or not- but yeah, in hindsight I realize that the toaster parts aren’t even junk so the perk probably wouldn’t even apply to them.

Rally is exceptional! With the characters getting more and more abilities that give them ap return you can squeeze in extra attacks. with these combos my late game sniper managed to pull off three shots before going into ambush! (massmurderer drawback)

He downplayed the antique appraiser perk. It's a must get. I sold a bunch of stuff with this perk and the 1000 scrap i had all sold for 50k. I now have $60000 in my playthrough. Other than that tho good vid man cheers for the help i wasn't totally sure what some of these did
@@twiztid79 I would agree with you but with the games long load times, I find having a team with all the skills is a more enjoyable experience since you don't have to go back to base as much.

I would start over. From what I've played so far, I see a ton of replay value here, and that's considering only the builds, not the ingame choices
Make a well balanced group would be my tip. Barter feeds really well into Mechanics because then you just buy all your damage basically, turrets are pretty strong and are crazy when you perk into them. If your group is very combat heavy, you'll find yourself having to bruce force through a lot of situations when instead you could have just hacked a computer, if you're into that.
Worth mentioning that brawling stacks are shared by other brawlers, so if you go brawler make sure you have atleast 2 of them in your team.
One with high AP for stacking the debuff and one big boi with high STR to consume the debuff stack with shaoling surprise.

In this game do you need to keep track of which party member you gave each skill to? I mean if a barter situation arises do I need to find my Barterer and take control of them specifically to interact?

Sniper (goat killer, Deathwish) with sneaky shit and animal whisper is very strong. Get the cat for extra crit chance, spirit animal x2 that cat bonus, crouch down, and 1 shot miniboss/tough enemy
Do you know if the animal whisperer perks apply to all animal companions or just their own?

I feel like weird science and that middle perk is almost mandatory late game for every character. Useless early but good damage boost late game. I think the biggest issue I've had in my play through is that many characters just don't have enough perks that I'll actually use, so I end up having at least a perk point or two set aside and I'm around level 18. Also I saw on the wiki that there is a plasma unarmed weapon, so there is almost no reason your characters shouldn't at least have a backup plasma weapon by mid game. Maybe I just got lucky but I kept finding energy weapons so strong with my builds they did more damage even WITH the 30% damage loss against humans.

If you put a perk into automatic weapons do all weapons benefit from all other weapons
I found A little exploit regarding the draw-Perk: You can equip a weapon in combat and it will have zero Ammo. Then you reload, and fire it for zero. Works great for Rocket launchers, if you want to fire a few rockets in one go.
works well with an explosive expert and sneaky shit...wipes out a lot of enemies in 1 turn...except for those toads...fuck those toads
Scotchmo + Way of the Squeezins + Devastation + Jackhammer with Quickfire Mag (-1 AP cost) + Chemtek Armor for Combat Stim = 3 shotgun blasts per 2 AP. Give him Luck and he’ll have so many chances to get free actions, especially if you have Draw! as well. You will melt practically anyone grouped up on Supreme Jerk.
I don't see how terrorizer is particularly situational since it's a passive. My flamethrower rarely does enough damage to kill, especially by mid game. But with the wide arc it will hit a lot of enemies. With good positioning pre-fight its extremely useful for an immediate followup after my sniper takes the opening shot.
Imo a huge part of combat success in this game is taking advantage of lines of sight and positioning everyone individually prior to starting combat. It's what I prefer over the xcom style where careful strategy is ruined by enemies getting to reposition when you can't.
Conductive beams description reads: "and anyone standing within 2 squares" which to me implies even friendlies. On Xbox One even with the current patch, my brawling precision strike still damages my own party if near enough, on EASY. Maybe it's different on computer, but I wouldn't take conductive beams just for the chance it doesn't work the way the easy mode says it should. If the wording was specifically "any enemy" I would agree it's a decent perk, but I'm also not fond of crit chance reliance, or RNG mechanics. I would like to see how you'd build a brawler. (I may not like crit chance reliance but I still wouldn't take the quirk that gives + 15% melee damage boost for the draw back. It's more the idea crits are great... when they happen, that I don't like)
I have a request. I have been trying to find a list of skills that are necessary to max in order to beat the game. No site I've seen has compiled such a list yet, but I know that WL2 has a compilation for one. Can you guys make a list like that, to help players like me to create their most effective build? I've had to restart about 20 times trying to figure out what was needed before I even got done with Colorado Springs.
Does Gopher Hunter work for all weapons?
Does Lights Out work on a sniper, or does sneak attack only works on melee?
I believe it does... but only for the shot that initiates combat.... and you cant do that if the enemy initiates combat first... which is often the case.

Toaster repair is less useful in this game since toaster reward is not that impressive. Only a specific build that need it: Pyrogunner frontline build (Disciple of metal / Pyromaniac / Coor/ STR / Speed) Big gun with toaster repair and weird science. Get toaster repair up to lv7 for heating element (25% fire dmg) and that's it. The hardest toaster require lv8, which you can boost by using the toaster repair badge found in Ranger HQ toaster. Also there is a vendor that sell toaster repair book to boost it to 9 if you want. Weird science for speech checks and it also boost Fire, ice, energy dmg. Overcharge also work well with this build since you have tons of armor and health and wouldnt worry about your weapon exploding at your face. For weapon use flame thrower to melt humans mutants and animals, heavy energy MG/meson cannon/fusion launcher to melt robots, turrets, synth. If you stop at Big gun at lv7 or even lv5 (best flamethrower require lv5, icethrower lv6 if Im not mistaking), you can even squeeze in Explosives skill to make it a one-man demolition crew :D

@@dhamngadt9200 not really I play on ps4 and the worst I get is game crashes. Just quick save often and your fine.
The Double Tap perk tracks bullets not mouse clicks so the second round of the 3 round burst is always a crit, not the second time you click the attack button all 3 rounds of the second attack are crits.

Well explosive is good, having each squad member carry rocket launcher is one easy way to cheese the game especially mortar perk, why use gopher hunter if you could utterly destroy the cover and light things up, it usually only need 4 rocket to win an encounter even boss fight, but I guess depend on your weapon, I even equip scotchmo with rocket launcher his drunk fu increase damage with just snake sqeezin with sabot rocket he could deal easy 1500 damage with critical and it is AOE.

Leadership ability Rally appears to be bugged. I've used it several times and it works only 50% of the time. The rest of the time it just saps 4AP from my leader with no benefit to the rest of the squad.
Only if you are sure the range is not the issue. Charisma affects leadership range. I personally never have issues with rally.

Do the perks like draw and gopher work with other weapon types? They don't mention specific weapon types to be used, only the skills to unlock them in the first place.

I love the detailed analysis, but I feel the title is a bit misleading. I was hoping that somewhere in the video you were going to explain the best perks for each tree for early, mid, and late game. I think this video would be more accurately titled "Guide to all perks in wasteland 3". If I was just starting the game, I would want to know a top ten perks or top 5 easy builds to start the game. Hope this comments helps. Your content is always great anyway.
It's hard to say the best 5 perks, because you'd have to be the "best 5 perks for each build". I do plan to do guides on each build type, so I'll be sure to include that in those builds.

But you have to keep the animals alive and IIRC you can't control them.

you dont need to play any previous ones to know whats going on... essentially at the end of the last game and start of this one the rangers were basically nearly wiped out... so your starting at a clean slate in a new location.
Absolutely, you just wont know some of the characters are reoccurring. But your character doesnt know them so you're basically just going in with the same information as your player character.
why are some perks missing? I'm missing robot hacking even though ive maxed out nerd stuff. like why are level 1 perks missing in the video?
I find it interesting that he says "5 armor for a lvl 7 perk not really worth" and then "5 armor for a level 10 perk absolutely take this"
Well for one the 5 armor only applies to mechanical units which more often then not are temporary. So you spend a perk point to buff a single unit which you know will disappear eventually and you have to repair it first which cost more AP. The second perk on the other hand is a permanent buff to the _entire_ squad. While 5 armor isn’t too much, the fact that everybody in the squad practically gets a fourth piece of armor for free is very useful, especially on higher diffs when enemies can reliably kill your team in one or two attacks later on in the game
Assault Rifles kinda suck só Assault Rifle perks also kinds suck.
Shrug it Off is absolutely awful because 2 armor is very very little to begin with.
Suppressing Fire is actually kind nice because it only has a 5 AP cost so it gives your heavy gunner something to do when it’s relocating.
Terrorizer is great because it’s a passive and not an AP cost skill. You don’t “use” it.
Pressure Cooker sucks because enemy vehicles are super super rare.
Extreme Combo is really good but only after you have Flurry of Blows. So more late game.
At high enough accuracy, Trick Shot can have a 70% hit chance. It’s a useful late game perk.
Mark Target is great early game when your characters have low accuracy. Snipers can rarely fire twice a turn, so generally you fire once and have all this extra AP laying about, spending 2 to help accuracy of your allies and damage of Strikes is great.
Antiques Appraiser is a good skill if it works normally and it’s absolutely busted as it works right now. You can make infinite money by saving 1,000-2,000 Scrap and just selling, buying and reselling them.
Antiques Appraiser is very exploitable. You can save before selling your junk and reload again and again until you hit a jackpot.
Not even that get about 500 scrap sell it and rebuy it for 1 dollar each and resell it until antique kicks in I earned 800k in under a hour without even reloading

Flury of blows currently does not work and does nothing.
Why is it so hard to heal people in this game I keep wasting hypos at full health on wrong character and It's hard to review too lol
Hypos only work on the character that's popping them. So. You know. The med packs can be used on others, but that's gated behind at least 1 first aid.
I made mistakes the first few times, but then it's been fine.
I dodn't see how trick shot is gambling, yes you have 50% less chance to hit, but overall it's better than normal attacking with how strong precise shots are.
-50% is huge! How is that not gambling? You toss a coin and see if it's head or tails; you either hit or miss. If your normal attack hit is at 70% imagine hitting them with a -50% chance! Trying to hit something at 35% is a gamble
Depends on how you value precision strikes.
For me even missing 2 out of 3 times to get it is way worth for high hp targets, with either high damages ( headshots, flamthrower tanks, bleeds) or control (cpu, arms, legs).
With pistols you need a good mobility, so you get 95% base most of the time, 45% isn't that bad because with the 3 free ap you get precision strike+normal attack instead of 2normals even if you miss once.
Yes, you'll have less damage per turn if you miss, but overall, on targets that get multiple turns to get down, I think you win everytime so it's not really gambling.
@@maxkking I get what you are trying to say and I agree that trick shot is good but I think you're missing the point of why the skill is a gamble. Just as you said, out of 4 shots, you'll miss 2-3. Taking a risky action in the hope of a desired result is literally the meaning of gambling. In trick shot's case however, the desired result is very good and worth gambling for.
Do i want to sell junk? Some of it seems valuable.
If it is listed as Junk, it's literally just vendor trash.
Best perks in the game are the barter perks. Infinite money and ammo!

Your video is good, but i don't feel like it lives up to the title. "Best Perks" makes me think of a top 10, or something, and not you reading the description of what feels like 80+% of the perks.
Honestly the perks in this game are complete trash. Like there are billions of things they could have done with the perks and they are so....so....So boring and mostly useless. I just don't see how they had access to incredible examples like xcom and fell this drastically short of even being remotely interested. It's Honestly one of the only things I dislike about the game, the perks are so pathetic and uninteresting
A couple more crashes and I'm going to say it isn't worth it.
UA-camrs complain about this with other games, and ruin their reputations from the start, but not this one. Double standard BS.
