Without the patience and the strong nerves perk you won't even survive the first couple of levels (years). And buy coffee whenever you get your hands on. #glhf
Bro you're like an Angel. I have ADHD so getting into games like divinity or wasteland is really difficult cause that's so much I need to understand to have an enjoyable playthrough, but you're videos and build guides helped me understand divinity inside out and also be able to start thinking of my own builds. Now that I've found wasteland 3 I feel like when I just started divinity and then again here you are to carry my burdens. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be able to fall in love with the beautiful stories and complex mechanics of this game. You are a true hero of the C-RPG genre
If you put two range extending attachments on your shotgun then it quickly becomes a 24-30 range wide spread sniper that can easily kill 3 enemies a turn even if they are behind cover.
I must admit I love your builds. I've been using them for a co op run with only slight adjustments for an entire team made of them and I've had fantastic results.
I was thinking I wanted to make a leader shotty build ever since I saw a shotgun with 12 range , and here you are, thank you so much, you have no idea. I got to a point in the game and noticed I actually wanted Kwon and was stuck with 2 rifle users and wanted to start over because I made a lot of dumb decisions, and was wondering how to build a shotgun leader. You have just undug my hole.
You can always create new characters at Ranger HQ, and they'll be the same level as your other ones. I had to do this with a couple of mine when I realized I wasted skill points on useless skills or skills I was already building on other characters
I had a shotgun build with the jackhammer (shoots 3 times per attack) and it absolutely shreds. Mods are amazing for shotguns, i had the +9m (and -5% crit chance i think?) scope, +8 mag, and whatever else you want for the barrel + under barrel, my shotgun reached far and had decent spread. With max intelligence for lots of crits, i was 1 shotting 6+ people at once.
You, sir, are a machine for RPG content. I wish I had the time to play all the games I see here. I'm really interested in Wasteland 3, though, because of Game Pass hehe
That's pretty neat. For your next build guide (the Drunk Fu guy), the Exosuit Set (instead of Power Armor) would have fit in nicely as it enhances melee damage by 50%. Could even replace booze for something else.
Using shotgun and a pistol is more beneficial IMO. That way you can build up your strike gauge with the pistol and kill everything with the strike ability of the shotty.
7 points into charisma would be more efficient for strike buildup. That leaves 3 points for more damage/survivability into awareness/int/str. With 7 points it will take 5 shots to build up strike and putting 10 points in only brings that down to 4 shots.
I love this game but I know absolutely nothing about it. I even made a pistol combat medic because I figured he'd never have to attack. So far, I'm reviving my medic more than anyone. Oh well, gotta start somewhere
Before i started to play DoS2 I looked aat a couple of these build guides and thought the same thing. what might be hard to notice is that he actually did give a level guid in this video but it can be easy to miss with all the information that is thrown at you fast. when he switches to perks the order he lists them is the level scale guide
He did mention where to add points first. I’m building this class and just starting it at level 3. Just have to work your way up until you get all the bells and whistles.
Shotguns are bugged, and will hit friendlies, at least for the game pass version. Leadership on kill bonus will apply to everyone regardless of distance, so you can kinda lower charisma this way but the strike is so nice, may as well build charisma/cooridination on almost every build. I originally did a luck 10 version of this instead of charisma, but like the charisma first better. Luck seems to apply to everyone on your squad (I was getting 'lucky AP' free shots on everyone at some combats), worth maxing out as you don't need much speed to move around with this build, and that is an all or nothing stat basically.
Start with max charisma is better because you start with 30% experience gain. Recon Raider started a let's of play of Wasteland 3. He started all his characters with 10 charisma and his been leveling up fast. It might not be a good ideal to do this all all characters but leader character that plan to end up with 10 charisma anyways, is a great ideal.
Question: Is it not better to focus on Intelligence and Strength first up to the recommended level to get max out of the +CON and +SKILL POINTS per level?
So my W2 shotgunner leader was a similar build to this, except I maxed coordination from the start and lowered my speed. I'm just getting into W3. Similar setup to yours, but with other skills for roleplay/dialogue purposes.
As the greatest shotgun sergeant ever said, “keep your friends close, and your enemies within range of your primary weapon!” EDIT: I should totally build a red team squad...
Biggest downside to this build is that it takes dreadfully long to get shotguns that pack a punch on Ranger or Supreme Jerk. They might hit a lot of targets, but until you get Devastation, the damage is only OK outside of precision strikes. This isn't too dissimilar to my Leader build, although I didn't dump a bunch of points into Survival and Mechanics during the early game. Was going for Hard Ass as his third skill to focus on, while the entire group will eventually get at least 3 into Mechanics. Will try this build on my next playthrough. It will likely do better damage earlier, but you practically have to forsake everything except Rally and Devastation initially to get it going.
Just a quick question, and I know I'm late to the party here, but ... What about Vicious Avenger background for this? From what I remember in Wasteland 2, most shotguns have pretty lousy penetration.
...dumb question: where is the character Background selection made? I just created my custom characters and it placed me into the first mission; Background never appeared so I couldn't select anything?? Thanks!
I have a question, does leadership activate if you have a mechanic that gets a kill with their turrets? Thinking about messing around and trying to find a “Engineer Leader” build. Also, do the turrets pick up the stat boosts the character has? For example, if the character has +20% damage to humans, do the turrets get that buff also? Unfortunately, realized the definition of “multi-kill” is multiple kills in one attack. Not multiple kills within a round. Therefore the shotgun makes more sense for a leader. Turrets weren’t as effective as I wanted them to be
I'm late to this game, but I'm trying this build on my second playthrough, but shotguns are pretty weak early game. I'm barely doing any damage at level 6 on Ranger diff. Hoping it will get better
Running this build on one of my starters. half the time multikill does not trigger. i can kill 3-4 enemies in one blast with the shotgun and still not get a multikill..
I love these guys and there videos like this.I do but what difficulty are they playing?? Anything above easy you gotta adapt, this stuff goes out the window you can use this as a little direction thats all.
Okay I love this build BUT shouldn't we avoid survival for the random events across the map? Aren't their really good things in those encounters sometimes?
My squad is level 12 right now and one of my original two took Barter and right now it's at 2 levels BELOW the max yet with the perk that has a 5% chance of 50x value an item(idk which) sold for a whopping 31,000. I haven't come across anything in the game that costs more than 2,000 yet and now I'm fucking loaded. Barter is OP don't pass it up.
It spikes so high because the game seems to see a stack of scrap as 1 items being sold, so you'll either proc the entire stack or none of it. I'm guessing you sold a stack of 620 scrap, that would proc for 31k.
2 Pump is bugged... sets your crit at -15% (regardless of INT or previous crit chance) and doesn't lower -hit. Hence its a pretty bugged/terrible perk.
Anyone got thoughts on a poindexter leader ? I realized from this video that the leader is suppose to also be a killing machine which means I probably messed up making a semi skill mule leader huh ?
Was thinking about a energy dmg shotgunner build, is that possible? (Dont have the game yet). Just seems cool to blast a group of mobs with conductive beams and get multiple triggers, if it stacks?
I`m following your guides and I have a question: If I want a certain skill like weapon modding and I use it in a character then the skill is usable for the whole group? or only the character with the skill can modifie weapons? the same with lockpicking?
They only need to be in your group. If you click on something thats locked it will automatically send your lockpicker to go unlock it. As for weapon modding they just need to be in your party and you can right click to mod.
I want to thank Jesus for the recruit system. My 2 dudes that I made will probably end up pretty mangled by my indecisiveness so having a bunch of back ups is mandatory
Raise barter on a skill monkey ONLY up until you get the antique appraiser perk. Swap in the barter character at Ranger HQ for trading and you will be swamped with money. So much money that buying stuff in other locations outside Ranger HQ without a barter character won't seriously affect your cash reserve.
Imho charisma/leadership is a totally waste of point and shotguns are the worst weapons in game... And I am a shotgun lover, it hurts. A flamethrower simply humiliates all shotgun with penetration, passive burning dot and engulfing foes and that skill for annihilate veichles...
Tbh I havn’t found a single weapon where I cannot get some serious fire power from in this game, I think everything can be used at high difficulties aslong as you build it properly
ikr, but it's definitely not. It's more like early Fallout mixed with XCOM. Game's pretty good from what I've played so far, but my god the bugs, glitches, and all too constant crashes on the console version ruin this otherwise great game, at least on Xbox One. Good story, hilarious dialogue, nice combat, the numerous technical issues are the only thing holding it back, and the graphics are fine, but could be better. There's also this nasty save wiping bug in multiplayer, at least on console. If you plan on checking this game out, I highly advise you to wait for a few patches.

I could watch your builds all day!. Best voice and tons of knowledge.
If you put two range extending attachments on your shotgun then it quickly becomes a 24-30 range wide spread sniper that can easily kill 3 enemies a turn even if they are behind cover.
I was hoping for a build to pair with my sniper. This should be prefect.
I must admit I love your builds. I've been using them for a co op run with only slight adjustments for an entire team made of them and I've had fantastic results.

Great leadership build ! Will definitely test this out on a squadmate on Supreme difficulty for sure
I can always depend on this channel for the best builds.
Have a build just like this! Having a lot of fun with it 😁 Would love to see recommended builds for the companions that join you!
Great video keep up the good work! Still hoping for an optimal party guide 😁
I started with shotgunner paired with a sniper. Was amazed how OP actually shotgun feels in this game, and that special is simply amazing.
the shotgun gets even more absurd once you get the shotgun that shoots thrice.
Interesting considering shotguns felt pretty much useless in Wasteland 2.
That's pretty neat.
For your next build guide (the Drunk Fu guy), the Exosuit Set (instead of Power Armor) would have fit in nicely as it enhances melee damage by 50%. Could even replace booze for something else.
Latest patch 1.6.9.420 Spectrum Assult Helmet has Evasion +5% and Armor +8% only...
I also use shotgun paired with my leadership character, still in early game but I love it
Using shotgun and a pistol is more beneficial IMO. That way you can build up your strike gauge with the pistol and kill everything with the strike ability of the shotty.
bro this build is so good well done.

but the added xp bonus will refund you about one extra level up, so you will gain 1 attribute point back (as well as other level up advantages)
Getting close and personal? Count me in.
You're carrying my girlfriend and I through DOS2 and will soon carry us through Wasteland 3!
I love this game but I know absolutely nothing about it. I even made a pistol combat medic because I figured he'd never have to attack. So far, I'm reviving my medic more than anyone.
Oh well, gotta start somewhere
I was going for a build like this, without realizing it lol
are build guides always based on being high level already? so hard to find builds that show you how to scale with the build.

All weapons have friendly fire, its a difficulty setting option. In fact it even says that in this very video.
@@Noogi302 no he's right, it's bugged. I'm on normal (which specific days friendly fire is off), yet my team can still get damaged from my shotgunner
