Mike is so underrated, and it's great to see more of his involvement in the series. I also didn't know that Kyle served as more than just Guitar Guy!
This video almost completely summarizes why the James and Mike are my favorite UA-camrs and why they will always be.
Gantris they are the real UA-camrs
Gantris AVGN is the best at what they do, the videos just have that something that others lack, I can't quite put my finger on it what it is but shows.
+Gantris
What about RedLettermedia?!
I completely agree man, can’t give them enough praise for their earnest and fun content. And both of those guys seem like the most stand up great fellas you could ever ask for friends. Rare personalities
Woo 420th like
Is it just me or is Kyle Justin the unsung hero of these episodes?
Nah, he definitely sings.
I LOVE THE SCROTUM GUNS SONG!!! THEY ARE SOOOOO HAIRLESS.... had to get that in there....
where did their hair go.
it does seem that way haha.
Kyle is awesome. The Ikari Warriors episode is still one of my favorites, he's hilarious in that.
he's apparently a carpenter and a musician ;)
Huge shoutout to Kyle Justin btw, love that dude!
I dunno who Kyle Justin is, but the guy behind the couch with the guitar is pretty great.
I'm kidding, they're both great. ;)
Seriously folks, I know they're the same person.
I heard he doesn't live behind the couch no more though. Don't know if it is true, only the nerd knows.
I had no idea he was still involved and that he helped them with props and set construction
Don't ever feel pressured to make or rush a AVGN video. Most of us should already know how busy you are. And thank you and Mike for all the work you both do to entertain us daily. With the James and Mike Monday videos, livestreams, and also videos on modern games.
Agreed!
AMEN
Yes, I'd much rather wait for a great episode than get an ok one.
I love that Mike really admires James, he sounds like a great friend
That's a nice shot of mike tucked back there with the Atari games. He looks like he works at some old school pawn shop.
Wonder if he has Battletoads back there
Speaking of tucked back...MIKE'S BIG COCK!!!
I remember back in 2008-2009 when people bitched about the skits in the episodes and wanted just straight up reviews lol. I never understood that, clearly you guys stepped it up big time and made the videos 50X more entertaining so I'm glad you went in that direction. I think everyone is happy with it now, 10 years ago was a different time obviously.
Right? As if we were all watching to see if we should play some 40 year old Atari game.
Really, people complained about the skits? If anything, they're usually some of the best parts of Nerd episodes. They really allow James to shine as an actor...
I love how James still gets excited while filming. It's obvious that he still has unbound passion for his craft. Thanks for all the entertainment, guys!
@@JorgeTorres-tl7vo ehh the passion is still there 🤷♂️
Thank you for all the hours of uncontrollable laughter over the years man, really, thank you.
TurtleBurger yup
Thanks for this James! And very nice to know some more about Mike’s involvement in the creation of episodes. Mike was more involved than I guess I realized
Well, he is the co-funder of Cinemassacre after all.
In fact, he's the one who persuaded James to upload the "Simon's Quest" review on UA-cam, back in the day.
In the early days, Mike hand drew all the artwork as well for each openning episode. Both are extremely talented people.
And also Kyle 👍
mike is the real nerd.
Sans Nom I knew that Mike was the co-founder of Cinemassacre but I didn't how involved he was until now.
Fantastic video. Outstanding work, James and Mike. Your hard work definitely paid off. The AVGN episodes were always some of my favorite content.
I wish James gets his passion back. I want to see this again
This
@@MikeSandersonVideosit’s depressing to watch the continual decline
All I can say... is THANK YOU! James, you and Mike and Kyle have done so much and you guys truly show the love and passion you have for this series in your work! Love you all and looking forward to more in the future!
I love how much Mike hypes James up 😂
This is why I've watched you guys since 2008. The amount of work put into these videos is astounding, you've been a big inspiration to me and I hope you the best of luck in the future.
Man I loved Board James. I'd love to see it return.
I love how Mike has his 'producer's cup' at 3:22. Like just a stock-standard paper cup completely befitting for a behind the scenes commentary. Great video James and Mike, keep up the awesome work.
lmao, right?! So dope.
...and it's pink. For some reason that amuses me!
haha totally

@@s.u.p.r.e.m.e.society9607 They've used these a bunch of times, and they were a weird pale red originally, but have somehow got NICER after being bleached in the sun!
i remember, looking back, 2015 being a very slow year for avgn. but even at that time, he delivered.
please God, give us another james, mike and kyle episodes
I love how Mike says "He was just talking to a fucking teddy bear"
"maybe the nerd has mental issues?" maybe.....
I'll always be amazed by how hard James works on these videos, and how much time and effort he puts into all of his projects. I look up to him in that way, and I hope some day I can have as good of a work ethic as he does. That's not to say I don't appreciate Mike or anyone else associated with Cinemassacre. Without people like Mike and Kyle, the AVGN wouldn't be the same.
S. Same. It's fucking mindblowing and really makes you appreciate everything they do even more.
The rivalry with Bugs Bunny is legendary 24:32
A battle of Looney proportions!
Top 10 rival of all time
My favorite Nerd episode
Hur hur lol
Super Duperest Mike tries to get attention for himself. I can relate to that too well. 😖
Another testament of humility, mastery, and LABORIOUS LOVE from the mouths of the hardest working and most inventive lads on the web, past and present.....
Sincerely til I'm dead,
Cinemassacre fan.
Get yourself a partner that loves you as much as mike loves james. You guys are great. :)
James has a wife
no believe me sometimes it’s better this way without someone extra
This got really weird really quickly wtf
Cinemassacre
I really love the documentary feel you get when the video cuts to Mike
Bugs bunny is to avgn, what the giant chicken is to family guy.
sinformant
That’s such a great summary actually
Not even close
@@Paperoni and does not drag out needlessly....
This was unexpectedly emotional at the end, I'm glad they can do what they love and entertain people.
I really noticed that your experience from making the AVGN movie has really helped improve the quality of your newer projects, and they just keep getting better.
Thank you For so many years of entertainment! This is the only show with bad language I will allow my kids to see! My Dad Loves AVGN too ! I got him hooked with your Bugs Bunny episode, the poo one lol. Thanks for the laughs!!!!
I agree with Cinos the Dense potato , There are episode that have sexual jokes. Should I mention a chunk of the episodes has things that would scar a kid for a long time?
Yes, as the dense potato said, you basically shouldn't parent your kids at all. If they want to do crack, it's obvious that not allowing them to do it is just going to increase their desire to do it. Therefore, the most logical route is to preemptively give them all the crack they can consume and encourage them to consume more and more of it. This is a good parenting strategy.
That being said, it is stupid to allow your children to watch something that you normally wouldn't allow them to. It depends on the age of your children, but nerd is best enjoyed when you're not a child.
sonicflashfan doing crack and hearing cusswords aren't comparable.
In this context, aren't they? Both things considered detrimental to standard child-rearing. One is merely a hyperbole used to make a point.
I just hope UA-cam gives you enough money for this golden content
Sorry this is very late, but thank you for all these years, laughs and memories!
I still catch my self watching the videos from 10 years back. Happy Holidays AVGN !
I absolutely ADORED Board James! That was fresh, imaginative, extremely well realized, such a gem of a series!
I knew that it's difficult to do an AVGN episode but I didn't think it was that hard and long. All I can say is thank you guys for taking all this time and put all your best in each episode, just for us fans. Thank you James, Mike and Kyle. And Cinemassacre of course.
I'm gonna be honest, I always almost tear up during the Megaman episode, and the music at the end of this making of did the same to me XD
The part when you fly through the window is definitely one of the funniest ever!
Thank you everyone at Cinnemassacre for caring about what you do and putting in the hard work.
"It wouldn't be fair to compare the Mortal Kombat GameBoy game to the original."
Two years later he did.
It's really cool to see some of the behind the scenes things that go into making these videos. It helps us to fully appreciate your hard work and dedication. I love to see the passion people have for their projects. It really is inspirational. Thanks for another year of AVGN!
I really appreciate all of the hard work that the Cinemassacre crew puts into these videos! Thanks again for another wonderful year of videos! Halloween was fantastic as well! Keep doing what you love, I certainly love watching your work! Happy holidays dudes!
It all started with my pet albatross
One of my favorite details of AVGN is the fact that Kyle pretty much lives behind the nerds couch. I would love to se him return once more. Again, from behind the couch :)
The effort these guys put inti these videos is just absolutely unbelievable.
I'm still floored to see how much you guys do. It's been over a decade now, and AVGN continues to improve, all while having the same nostalgic effect. Keep it up!
Don't sweat it. We will literally watch any nerd episode you put out. Lol they are all fantastic
PS: been watching for years. Thanks guys for all your hard work to make us laugh
You never know how much effort they put on each episode until you see this behind the scenes specials. All I have to say is thank you for this amazing 11 years. I hope the series continues for many years more. Uruguayan Avgn fan here.
This is the stuff of legends.
Hard work and determination wouldn't even describe you two. This is the sincerest form of dedication to a long lost artform, in my opinion.
I followed the Nerd all the way back, and I still follow him now. It never fails to bring a smile to my face.
Always love hearing you guys being proud of your work, you deserve it.
James was bang on the money about the Mega Man episode. One of the best Nerd episodes for sure.
Thank you, Cinemassacre, for all the years of entertainment.
I fucking love James and AVGN. I watched every episode up and down the last few months and still can't get enough. This truly is the only web series that helps me through tough times.
I am not depressed but when I have a bad day or even week, it helps me tremendously.
These behind the scenes really make me appreciate avgn episodes even more
I just decided right now for Christmas for myself I’m gonna get myself some Cinmassacre shirts, I wear my favorite bands shirts, favorite cartoon characters shirts, James and Mike have given me so much entertainment throughout the years I think it’s necessary
Mike playing the Joker was amazing!
I love these kinds of 'behind-the-screens'-videos. Much appreciated and thank you for all the enterainment en joy you brought thousands if not millions of viewers.
This was surreal. Seeing everything that James, Mike and Justin go through for an episode is a testament to hard work and I appreciate the episodes MUCH more because of it!
I loved Board James, and am still waiting for his return!
The effort and skills that go into this show are really admirable! I really respect these guys! Truly inspiration!
Thanks for all that you guys do, we really appreciate all the time you take to make these.
this has to be one of the best complete seasons ive seen yet.
Wow. Extremely excellent vid. James, Mike, love you guys.
James, Mike, seriously thank you so much for all the work you do to entertain us with your great videos from AVGN, Board James, Monster Madness, and others. It really means a lot, no bullshit. To still be doing this and putting passion into it is incredible.
I freaking love the Christmas specials....thank you for all the work you put into them. ....No joke here, when the holiday season rolls around, I've got my own AVGN playlist where, while I'm play a game on one monitor, I'm binge watching the Christmas episodes on the other on repeat. haha. I really enjoy them that much. I also really like (and miss) the Board James series. Thanks again guys!
Lots of great memories here, guys. Thank you for all your hard work! I know you love what you do, and it can be seen in your videos. They are always so much fun to watch!
Great content, thank you for your amazing work, it is getting hard to find quality stuff like this on UA-cam these days. Please keep putting out content for us James, and Mike and Ryan also.
you gotta appreciate the hard work james , mike (and the others that help) put into the video's.. avgn related and otherwise... i've been watching their videos's for a loooong time now.. and i'll be sticking around for a loooong time to come
This is a great behind the scenes video. I love James' passion and his preference for using practical effects over CGI or similar whenever possible. I guessed the Mega Man episode took a lot of work to do, but the attention to detail you put in was amazing. Excellent work!
Also, Mike, I still have an edited clip for your "Funniest Moments" of AVGN episodes where the Nerd goes off screen and you appear. Ever since you asked for suggestions, I posted the clip, unlisted of course.
Thanks for all the amazing work thus far!
This was a really interesting video, these behind the scenes bits/commentaries are great
12 days of shitsmas was amazing. Really, really good.
I love these kind of videos, reminds me not to take the videos you and Mike make for granted. Thanks for putting so much time and effort into each and every video!
I'm a huge fan of your work James! I have downloaded every Nerd, Board James and Bullshit episode you've done. I even have stuff that weren't AVGN episodes like the stuff you do with Pat. I even have the Captain S Christmas Special with you. For over 10 years, I have never missed a Nerd episode. I don't know how you do itm especially with you being a dad now. I believe that your videos will forever stand the test of time. I even have your movie which I consider as one of my favorite movies of all time. I'm a fan for life because of how wonderful and hilarious you are. I have binged watched all your episodes over and over again. Thank you for always being you!
At 2:37 lol
“Com-pile-lations”. I swear him and Mike’s accent is super South Jersey to me
Love the insight into the production and your enthusiasm!
Its extremely generous of you guys to
Provide dvd extras so soon after release like this. Thank you.
Always love creators talking about their process! Thanks for this awesome breakdown video, James and Mike!
Seamen is one of the best AVGN videos of all time.
Arthur. Florence I liked the cover art series
no no no ITS SEAMAN
….but Ikari Warriors, though.
@@involuntaryanalysis The hairless scrotum guns were filled with Seaman.
10 years of AVGN he is the best Game Review Ever!
I always love catching little bits of your personalities. I like how Mike described that moment of genuine self-disappointment regarding the wall crashing scene, for instance. It just makes me hope that I, too, could someday have him as an actor in one of my productions!
I love to get such begin the scenes access to the work you do. And I think it is very important for the people always demanding more to just see what kind of work goes into a nerd episode. Many people are thinking: it's just cg do it's easy. But what they don't realise is that even cg needs to have resources to work with. I know how long I take to simply throw some layers together in gimp to get something that looks like it's one piece. Thank you very much for now 11 years of entertainment and nostalgia. I love your work guys. And this goes out to all of you working on the cinemassacre content.
THANK YOU.
thank you for every video u have made, you guys are the absolute best at entertaining people. so much work what u have to do for the series so thank you!!
An indie film genius. Love this, Love you guys, you're the best!
People honestly don't understand how much time and energy you throw into these videos...you give your all.
Love seeing all the behind the scenes stuff. I enjoy hearing about the whole process that goes into episodes for the nerd. It's just crazy amazing the amount of effort that goes into some of these episodes. You guys rock. Thanks for all the awesome content over these years.
how long should an episode be? in over 10 years, i never gave a fuck.
the 12 days of shitsmas meant one new episode a day for 12 days, that was awesome!
James! I love your series and have watched and laughed for years. Thanks for making these great films in these amazing series like AVGN, James and Mike Mondays, and Board James. Strangely enough, my favorite Nerd episode is your Mario 3 review. Finding things to laugh about at a good game made me laugh after seeing all the other shitty games. Keep doing what you're doing. :)
Thanks for the time and dedication, thanks a lot.
From: A fan from Ecuador.
Thanks for being there to bring up all the nostalgia, nerd. You guys have put out a lot of really great material. No matter what projects yall take on in the future ill be sure to check em out.
This is awesome... great perspective, feels like documentary
Thanks for the videos AVGN your the funniest youtuber enjoy the holidays.
The secret in my opinion to why the AVGN series is so addicting and enjoyable to watch, at least for me, is that James managed to create, in such a small space, an imaginary world, a fantasy, I like to call it the Retro World, so even if you have already watched the episodes before, you want to come back, not just for the reviews or the comedy, but to revisit the universe that is Retro World.
I really like these behind the scenes videos, besides the obvious effort that goes in every way and in every episode.
I just love the way they talk about the series and the production, specially James.
And also thank you for such a good series!
Take your time, we appreciate the effort!
Love this. Lots of honesty and it's always good to be honest with your viewers.
You are completely correct on the episodes that you had to do quicker that feel a little formulaic rather than original.
And yep Board James was amazing that year. It's probably your best series right now!
Love all your work and we love you because you take your time and put the effort into projects that you enjoy.
sounds really tiring... good job guys! :)
This is probably one of my new favourite videos of yours, such a magical thing you've done these past years James and Mike.
These guys are so authentic, you can tell they enjoy what they do and the appreciation they have for their viewers and fans. Awesome work.
I actually want him to make Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde The Movie The Game a reality
What if AVGN was the next king of youtube
For me, he already is.
He always has been and always will be
The passion james has for all his work is more than admirable, its really inspiring
You guys never seize to amaze me. What a great work you do, and it only gets better. Thank you so much for all the years of entertainment.
