If you're a fan of old school movies, then you'll love this clip from the classic Aliens movie. This clip is remastered in 4K HDR custom for a truly immersive experience. Whether you're watching it on your TV or on your phone, you'll be transported to the Aliens scene from the movie!
57 years after Ellen Ripley had a close encounter with the reptilian alien creature from the first movie, she is called back, this time, to help a group of highly trained colonial marines fight off against the sinister extraterrestrials. But this time, the aliens have taken over a space colony on the moon LV-426. When the colonial marines are called upon to search the deserted space colony, they later find out that they are up against more than what they bargained for. Using specially modified machine guns and enough firepower, it's either fight or die as the space marines battle against the aliens. As the Marines do their best to defend themselves, Ripley must attempt to protect a young girl who is the sole survivor of the nearly wiped out space colony.

Made almost 40 years ago and still looks this good. Camerawork and the design. So good.
No CGI, from what I remember it's all miniature models, and like you said, still looks good.
It looks that good because Cameron went back with AI and remastered it
@@KipKil1igan the guy who runs the channel says this is his own version
Looks better than what we see today
@@2002filmsi mean its an AI corrected version, you can literally see the smoothing on their faces in certain scenes. The original was great for its time and is still a masterclass in design but it definitely didn't even look close to this
To this day there is no match for "Aliens".
Writing, cast, screenplay, visuals...you name it.
I wish Avatar would have been this cool.. the potential was there.
Alien looks considerably better
screenplay? really?
Yeah lmfao the original alien was a much better movie visually, writing and screen play and casting wise
@@matthall7359You can't compare an original idea with it's iteration, Aliens is a fantastic _sequel_ to Alien.
From Apone saying "10 seconds, people, look sharp" to first boot hitting the ground is EXACTLY 10 seconds
Keeping this at exactly 100likes
Ye gotta love Jim and his attention to detail 😉.
When the clock hits 10 mins at the end of Alien, she's out the door the second it hits Zero
Man knows his craft
it's 11 secondss...
he says it at 1:16
the open door and boot are at 1:27
You really can't help but admire how good the cinematography is. Between Aliens and Terminator 2, James Cameron really had it worked out - both films have aged magnificently and stand up to (if not, ahead) of the majority of films today.
I was thinking the same thing. As far as the cameras go they used amazing hardware and the film crew complimented it with equally amazing cinematography, the sound design was impressive too, I would love to hear the difference between the original stereo and any upscaling attempts especially when it comes to the sound of gunfire and alien screeches.
I was thinking the same
The worlds of Ridley Scott and James Cameron were both at their pinnacle, back then, at the time. Yep. Nostalgia!
I always forget that Hudson was the techie / hacker guy. In spite of all his wise cracking about being an Ultimate Badass - he’s actually kind of a geek.
No wonder he’s so many peoples favorite haha
1:17 the tank coming at you with the drop ship taking off in the background is so sick esp in hd now... cameron is the master of action sequences
I wonder if there was any frustration (from Cameron) at the time, a perfect scene but missing the clarity that we get to see in this upscaled clip.
Made in the 80’s and far surpasses any CGI crap made today…
Planet of the apes
but they made this film movie look like CGI crap with remastering now entire movie look like Unreal Demo
Still looks good, though.
Tired of this. Some of the miniature shots in the clip look really bad. Especially the "POV" of the dropship looks so obviously like a wobbly handheld cam over a miniature and nothing like the view from a plane
@@kw7865 You don't get it. It's ok kid.
Bill Paxton was amazing in this role, so many goofy quotes! 😂
I wish i could go back in time and experience this movie for the first time again.
You can say that again. There hasn't been too many good movies made since the 90s ended. Very few.
you could if you frai your brain
@@shanesmith6941 That's just your imagination.
I don't, I was six and it was a crappy videotape with lot's of grain of being played so much. COmbined with an old pal sauare tv that is barely a quarter of my current tv, today is a much more superior experience.
@@wolfura yo i was terrified of this movie when i was a kid too lol.
Man I’m still so impressed with how good the special effects were back in the 80’s
Models and miniatures. Even now it's very hard to match.
I love the atmosphere established here. Nothing dramatic happens except them arriving but the music and cinematography sets the stage so well.
Definitely one of the top 3 greatest si-fi action movies I’ve all time and it’s almost 40 years old.
Everything about this film is spot on. The design of the marines, the sound design, the environment, the acting. It’s a shame that decent writing got replaced with CGI and superhero’s
My most re-watched movie.
Aliens is such a good film!!
So good, love how the drop ship peals away after dropping off the apc. Shame they didn't return to the mother ship...... tactical failure there.
almost 40 years later... no movie beats this.. why??
Because no one puts heart into their movies anymore,it's all CGI.
I was born in 1985, so I didn’t really care for Alien when I was growing up.
It was Terminator 2 for me. The movie that made me a sci-fi junkie.
Bacause now is pure CGI woke fkng garbage
Every time I watch Hudson running his electrical bypass in the rain I worry he'll get fried.
Great Movie Moment, never forgettable.
It's ironic I said great movie and then viewed your comment.
Colonists base, marine entry, hearing their weapons makes me wanna refresh AvP games.
‘Oh my god! We were expecting so much and it’s giving us more! This is as good an experience for an action movie as you can ever have in a theatre.” Quentin Tarantino on Aliens when asked to sum up best movie experience
1:18; For all of her bravado, Vasquez is a vet. She knows shit's about to get real.
1:24 A look I'd frame and put on my wall, hell yes.
And she has the honor of being the first to enter the compound area in front of the door, and the first to enter the building through the door. Oh, she's "baaad" alright.
She's got the heaviest weapon and is the point "man" for the squad. Courageous and tough.
Byy farrrr the best Alien movie ever. Actual moviees like Prometheus rising..are...nothing but jokes..
No. Alien then Aliens. But they are too different genres. One is a horror film that is set in space and one is an action film set on a rainy planet. Different sittings in a sci fi future.
Wrong
Alien then Aliens
No
Aliens then Alien
Wait
Aliens then alien
Oh I give up

Wish to be reborn, to feel the original excitement of seeing these movies, good old days! Cinematography and lighting is too good!
I still don't understand how there was only one fire team the sulaco was huge shouldn't there have been a second team in case of a problem ?? To back them up ??!
They were sacrificial lambs, the company didn't intend for them all to survive, just enough of them to bring back a specimen 👽
A whole fucking ship being handled by a single squad of muhreens. That's what bothered me thorough the years.
@@matthewstrange3778 Also for the company to just suddenly replace their previous Lieutenant, who had much more combat experince. Same thing happend when WY replaced the Nostromo's existing science officer, who had previously served with Captain Dallas on several occasions, two days before the ship left Thedus. Ash arrives. They would stop at nothing to get the xenomorphs to the company labs.
@@matthewstrange3778exactly....hence the 17 days before a rescue/reinforcements
I mean if they are REALLY going to do it properly, you're never going to touch back down with the flight, its going to retreat to a secure area or simply rotate forever on some sort of long term power source. You're NEVER going to send a fireteam in without weapons, you're probably going to retreat and send in a robotic (and actually they should always be scouting with some sort of robotic). You're never going to leave the main ship unmanned, you're definitely going to have a back up team. But they (TRY TO) get around this by suggesting Gorman is green, but even a green leader isn't doing some of this stuff. Like why not motion detector video cameras in the flight deck, I have them in my house for gods sakes. PERSONALLY, I would rather see a movie not make these errors and instead write a really good plot to get rid of them. All the best movies don't leave big gaps, they just have the villain counter them.
Something about the way Gorman orders his troops around reminds me of playing Xcom.
Particularly TFTD, because he almost gets all of his troops killed lol
1986 and no sci fi film has come close to this masterpiece in almost 40 years. Incredible movie.
it's so good it's been almost 40 years since its release and we still have to pay to see the whole thing
The best movie ever..
This film is a masterpiece
Aliens Dark Descent captured this atmosphere quite well. Hope to play a sequel.
Sigourney could kill aliens with that jawline alone
40+ years later and this movie still holds up with the badass pulse rifles, one-liners, remote sentry guns et al. That stupid sci-fi movie "65" from 2023 has a gun that looks like it came from a Toys-R-Us clearance sale.
All the principle characters have arcs. This is one of the most tightly-written movie ever made. Fun fact, the nuke scene at the end was made using a light bulb under cotton wool. :D
That was nice how this first part of the operation went smooth with no casualties or injuries. Just them discovering the aftermath of what happened to the complex first before going to the Processing Reactor and finding the only colonist survivor, Newt. Nostalgia. 🙏😎
Beautiful. I watched it on a video cassette on my TV set when I was 21 years of age. It was James Cameron's early movies. Where I live, cinemas were mothballing due to lack of investment.
I wish old movies would go back and completely rework the sound design, SFX, and soundtracks.
One the reasons they shot the scene with rain was because the atmosphere processor. Terror forming a planet would create more storms and new atmosphere. So it's almost always raining.
"10 seconds people" and it is 10 seconds in real time till boots hit the ground....
To think this was shot on a set with rain machines and debris is amazing, still holds up 38 years later.
Wow the resolution is incredible, looks like modern film!
Upscaled by AI, some people don't like it
Stunning upscaling and smoothing.
I would love to see this movie in 4k VR sitting on the Sulaco.
I love how the bypass works in this beginning scene.
Everything in this scene looks real because IT IS!
Apart from the image quality.
@@citizen3000 you mean it too good for 1986 :)
@@DmytroBogdan I’m talking about the weird AI stuff that has been done to the picture.
@@citizen3000 hmm, I didn't noticed it. I haven't rewatched it for some time.
nothing comes close to this movie. forever and always one of the greatest of all time.
This looks so good!
Alien is by far the definitive experience when you talk about Alien, at least in my book, followed closely by Covenant and Alien 3, but Aliens is really, reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally good. Even if they just made the alien a cardboard box and almost stu·$& alien, the feeling of this movie is just amazing.
Fuckin' Vasquez is one BADASS marine!
not a lot movies, which i watched in the cinema twice at the same evening - this is one of them. Such a great movie, will watch the directors cut again now ;)
The 4K UHD HRD looks gorgeous
This lady "Vazquez" is such a badass lady!! Like her!!😊
Watching this clip again it is interesting to note how terra forming by the settlers of LV426 created a breathable atmosphere outside the main camp
Absolute masterpiece.
The German MG 42 is the insanest weapon here that’s for sure 🤙🏻
Superb sharp n bright colour thx🎉
The background at 1:29 is so good. If I had to guess it is a physical painted background on the set, not a bluescreen background.
This has been enhanced using an AI. Can't really say I like all it has done. The faces particularly look off.
Second squad did a really good job at flanking that...door...
I liked the parts where the medium machine gunner was on point and they all stood in the fatal funnel.
Interesting to see James Cameron used the same 'shooting scenes on a video camera' trick that Ridley Scott used when filming the crew approaching the derelict in 'ALIEN' to give exterior shots an exaggerated sense of scale.
Look real sharp indeed Apone !
Vasquez my beloved
Very beautiful picture quality!
今見ると余計に凄さが分かる。
Must've been filmed in UK by the appearance of Iron Fairy crane and Scarab path sweeper just by the complex entrance.
It was! 😊
best movie ever made
I used to have the deopship model, I dropped it and in frustration chucked in bin, im kicking myself to this day and that was in 1997. Its not what it's worth but a fantastic bit of kit, why has the military not used this design.
man I love those smart guns. After this movie I took interest on MG42. Great masterpiece.
Iconic.
This is peak cinema.
From the Officer Perspective the LT should have had another fireteam back on the Sulaco and geared up to lead his squad directly. You have an LT, Gunny and CPL and those pilot Warrant Officers. When Apone died the chain of command fell during the hive attack.
Amazing quality 😮
Some people like it. Others completely tear it apart.
Immortal movie
Damn, this looks so good.
Oof, the DNR is all over the place in this bit... but crisp it is.
I wonder..in the 80's, Hollywood already very futuristic and sci fi..i was born in 80's and in the 90's, im very much traditional and live like at the stone age..😂
history!
Watching today 27/07/2024 ahahahaha in my day off my home 🏠 ahahah ❤❤❤❤ love ❤️ it
You'd think they'd send more that just a handful of Marines tho.
pilot told to stay on station - would have heard the communication from the LT that shit was going down.. yet..sat on another landing dock with no sensors set up and allowed crew to alight in a dangerous unknown environment
Eu assisti esse filme no cinema 😊
this is amazing, can you also make one for blade runner?
This version looks amazing😮
how does one go about getting this quality 4K UHD HDR for the fully movie?
Looks cool. But that machine gun is useless. Hand held MG is much easier to move around. Much more useful to have bipod in the back as support.
What are all these weird wobbly picture artifacts. Giving me motion sickness. It's all over the place, but as a refence take a look at the door when Apone and Vasquez enter the building. 2:43
they used AI to upscale the video
I cant believe what i see
I never quite got why Hadley's Hope was worth millions to the company and their only response was to send a small team of marines to investigate, they never left any sort of human presence on the Sulaco AND they let the dropship land in an unsecured location, despite not knowing if there were any Xenomorphs lurking around.
I think the millions was due to the infrastructure of the atmosphere processor. The marines weren't backed up properly and the mission was taken foe granted....also the company sent enough marines to capture a specimen nothing more
Only Burke knew about the Xenomorphs the military and company leadership at large didn't believe/know what was happening.
Maybe because Burke wanted the Xenomorph for company and big moneys. That's why he chose the incompetent Gorman to lead.
in a real situation, not in a fiction film, it would not be shown in this way in the film, obviously, James Cameron wanted to dramatize the plot, otherwise the facts in the film would not happen, but his questions are certainly pertinent, landing in a place like that, without a second team giving rear guard would be totally unthinkable
The ship is AI controlled. If the APC wasn’t destroyed they could have remote controlled the other dropship to pick them up.
It’s actually very realistic that AI could replace humans.
Will watch the first two over any Transformers and lord of the funyions rings anyday.
First time seeing this, how many might not have guesses Burke was going to be the ultimate bad one, but Gorman or Bishop. Watching it now, I see the very subtle things dropped. Like " You know we manufacture those" Burke says Ripley looks at him with a odd stare. Not sure if she could care less that the company produces something like that. In all reality, you can see that the ultimate evil is the Company. she is at Odds with the company for better part of 3 of the movies.
1986? ... this movie was way ahead ...
Not sure 4K really helps this classic film. I rather like the grittier look of the original, seems more like an old war movie.
Using AI to remove fill grain from a film shot on film… you end up blurring all the detail and actors faces look like waxworks 😢
I think it is your settings of your TV. Turn Off Motion Smoothing.
do the full movie man
Wow
it always bugged me how the alien got on the drop ship in 5 seconds
They flew away and landed at another place....the alien came on board there.
@@Falcon16Fighter Yep.
I absolutely love this movie, but never could comprehend how a xenomorph rapidly attached itself to this drop ship and returned to the Sulaco, only to kill Ferro and the other co-pilot during the attempted evacuation of the survivors after the first battle.
Ferro & Spunkmeyer not return to the Sulaco, they’re waiting in landing pad somewhere in the area
@@dodywidodo9433Right, I always thought it was a rogue xenomorph roaming outside that stumbled upon the ship.
@@leonardmulrooney3806 actually the xenos roaming outside the complex, implied in Newt’s explanation after the drop ship crashed
2:36 yes just get in the way of the heavy gunners Field of fire
So 1080 is low-res now? Sheesh, just take me back to the 80s please.
