Thank you so much! I really appreciate you going in depth about this. I was thinking about buying a Japanese PS2 to show off some of the Japanese region-only games.
Is this still working... I tried to hook it up just like you have it but the Elgato is not picking up a device and can not seem to get into that menu to change the input device
it does still work. it depends on the PS2 hdmi converter you have. I read some do not work with the elgato. I bought the Levelhike converter (not shown in this video) and the video quality is beautiful. can be bought here www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MYVF61Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I ran into a problem, I can’t record sound from my PS2, to the elgato sound capture program and OBS. Which speaker or sound device would you recommend?
Make sure your micro usb (one by the import) is in fact connected to a usb 3.0. I tried plugging mine into a regular usb and it didn’t work. You’ll know it’s the right one if the usb is either blue, or if your computer says you have one.
@@BKEXITPLAYZTV have you used your elgato on that computer before? if so you just run it the same way. only difference would be the ps2 and its hdmi converter
Hey I have the hyperkin PlayStation hdmi converter cable- and when I hook it up to my hd60s I get a weird sound in the background (almost like distorted static). Do you know why that is?
i am trying to record budokai tenkaichi 3- but idk if its the elgato or the ps2 black screening bc if i dont have the elgato plugged in its fine but if i have it on it black screens after the memroy thing
Last year, I got a component (YCbCr)-to-HDMI converter so I could record footage from my PS2 (as well as my GameCube and OG Xbox) in higher quality, as I was not satisfied with composite. The video quality is fine, but the audio is *very* distorted. And in case you have any doubts, it works perfectly fine with my older, composite-based consoles as well as my Xbox 360. Any help? I made a video on my channel about it last year, if you're curious.
@@parkycod Do you have any advice on how to fix the audio with component? I have a feeling it might be the converter I'm using, but I just wanna be sure. Here's a link for additional context: ua-cam.com/video/xEiF_q_jpy4/v-deo.html
I think it's the converter. I had one that was terrible as well. I saw a video on it a while ago and I saw that some converters don't work well with the HD60s.
Do you know if the commentary audio records separately from the game that way I can adjust it during editing ? And for my earphones, do I plug it into my laptop or the Elgato Card ?
Elgato software records your voice and offers a mixer as well. I switched from Elgato to OBS and both worked. For your earphones plug them into your computer
a big reason for this can be your sound capture on the elgato sound app. i found i had to keep switching mine. keep playing with it until you fiund sound.
is anyone having a static sound or is it just me? i managed to fix the solution on my tv which took years, but it's still doing it in the recording for some reason. any help would be highly appreciated.
go to your sound capture and make sure the input is your elgato (which is hooked up to the ps2) and output is your speakers. happens a lot to me when i use elgato for my pc
It depends if you’re satisfied. If you record multi-platform, then I’d say yes. But you need to remember that PS2 is a 480p system, so a Hauppage HD PVR will still get its full quality. You will only get better quality if you emulated it on PC.
Unfortunately it just depends on your hdmi converter. The elgato is a newer piece of technology and would explain why it’s picky with what transmits well
I'm not sure. From what I've seen, Elgato is a bit picky with what it wants to work with. I mean, it used to glitch on PC recordings for me, which had no HDMI converter. If you already have both of the aforementioned items bought, test it out. If not, I'd order the HDMI that I linked; it's better than the one in video.
why not use pcsx2 if your pc looks like it can handle emulators on ps2 they look better than the original console lol .look up the ps2 eumlator called pcsx2 . how too get games youtube the videos for tutorials
The Livehike is probably the best quality you will get outside of a PS2 emulator from a PC. I can confirm it works with an elgato. I got raw footage that’s been sitting on my computer if you want a quality test.
yes, depending on what you use to stream. The most popular method of streaming is through stream labs, where there, you can set a source as your game capture and thus be streaming a ps2
my screen is frozen , what could it be? lol nevermind I was just being impatient everything works quality aint the best but it works thats what matters
Looks clear as daylight, 10/10 rating
