I didn't want to mess with loads of vertices, so if you want, you can just smooth your object and then use the Edge Split modifier as well to get some nice crisp edges without the extra work (but I welcome why subdivider is best practice) Great tutorial also, this is really helpful for my vending machine
Hi! Absolutely loved the tutorial. Very easy to follow along. The only aberration I did to the workflow was to add a mirror modifier while making the tab at the top of the can. Helped me to maintain symmetry.

Hi at @14:45 i am unable to select that inner face which you extrude down and scale in. I am unable to select that face. But when i select the edge loop and then extrud and scale, nothing happens in the solid view. But in the wireframe view, it can be seen that the face is being extruded and scaled. But it is not visible in the solid view. What have i done wrong, please help.
For some reason when I do subdivision surface one part get's really distorted on the tab, when I try to fix it with control r and the subdivsion off it won't let me place new edges onto the area of the section I want to place it, I'm trying to place them on top but I only have those edges popping up on the bottom.

You're probably starting a tool, then hitting escape to cancel. Unfortunately, when you do this, it still creates the vertices in the same place as your initial vertices
How is it for beginners if you just keep using shortcut keys and not telling us which ones. Like you dont have a keyboard cam so you have to announce it so i can follow along. Nothing wrong with that - sounds like a great strategy!
This is extremely useful for me I mean that vertex edit at top of can and that modifier settings is 🔥...very hard to find someone who explains basics
dont expect part two, this gets you close to what you need then stops,
please upload part two or link to a texture video ??
I cant find the part 2, I really loved this tutorial
i started yesterday and i am kinda hooked
went from the obligatory donut run to making a wine pouring animation
oh dear lawrd
