I'm looking for this bass in the natural finish. Can you get it Anthony? I've only seen two of these '66 Custom Shop Journeyman P-Basses for sale so far (including this one), and both are Lake Placid Blue.
I've never once looked at pickguard holes on bass to establish it's era... never. I prob should considering my position on here.. lol. Thanks for the call out and for watching as always - Anthony
That’s a gorgeous bass unquestionably. I hope someone grabbed that beauty and is enjoying it already. I’m just a nerd geeking out. There absolutely nothing functionally wrong with the number of mounting screws. Aesthetically the difference is so vanishingly tiny only a weirdo like me might notice.
Why the CS used a ‘59 P-Bass body type (with its 10-hole pickguard screw footprint) for a 66 P is beyond me. They SHOULD have used a ‘64 body type with the 13-hole pick guard screw pattern! What the hell is wrong with them? Go ahead and accuse me of crying about the minutiae but…for 5 or 6k or whatever the hell the ungodly price is on these are - I say grab a Lake Placid American Original 60’s P and slap a ‘62 reissue White guard on it, and then leave the other 3k in the bank.
Eye candy and has incredible tone.
Absolutely gorgeous Bass!😍
Oh man...that is a sweet bass Anthony!
BEAUTIFUL BASS
guess its time to mortgage the house again, i'm sure the wife will understand 🙃

A 10-hole pickguard is a curious feature for a '66 P bass.
