    I watched a few of the set up videos but was always distracted by the constant talking over it.
    This video is perfect,no talking, easy to follow guide through showing close ups and nice music in the background.
    I started playing 5 months ago from scratch and this is going to help me intensely when i do q proper set up of my fender squire jazz bass later.
    Thankyou.

    Absolutely fantastic tutorial! Best part is there's not some dude yapping away to inflate his ego, we get to grove to funky bass music! With music instead of voice, it makes the viewer FOCUS on the lesson. Brilliant!

    Very good tutorial. Here are some tips and observations for future videos. Please voice over the video. I am constantly looking down at the hard subs when I should be looking up. I find it a lot easier to check neck relief with a straight edge and feeler gauge. You will find it way easier to measure the strings if you had a black and white string action gauge instead of the silver D'Addario one everybody has I use a radius gauge when setting the string action. I put Tri-Flow on the Tuners then White Lithium Grease on string tree, nut and saddles then a little Locktite on the threads of the Intonation screws and Finger Ease on the back of the neck. Cheers from Toronto 🍺🇨🇦

    Great tutorial. Is that a fender set up guide that had all those specs? Where can I find that lil guide online?

    Sir, What's the thickness of the feeler gauge for checking the 12th fret for the truss rod adjustment?

    Can you tell please why my bass rattle at open stirngs but when I touch strings (even behind the nut) or unplug second pickup - rattling disappears? Is it some electricity problem of cheap guitar?

    Really good resource! I've had some problems with my jazz bass, so this guide comes in handy. But, there's one thing I'm wondering about. Isn't it better to have the windings of the strings go down, so that you have more pressure on the string over the nut?

    Good job! There is some other guy on YT setting up his bass while keeping it lying flat on the bench. We all know that there is always a ‘gravity pull’ so measurements will never be correct that way.

      Not an issue at all on a bass where everything is big and heavy duty. On a guitar with a thin neck like an Ibanez in which you'll spend a ton of time playing above the 12 fret, where things are small and crammed this (maybe) can have some impact, but even in that case lots of luthiers set up guitars on a bench with perfect results

    Do you know anything about Bartolini pickup heights? On their website they have no info............

    • @InspiringTracks
      @InspiringTracks  29 днів тому

      I'd start with a regular setting and tweak it to my liking. Pickups height has much of personal preference. If your Bartolini set is active it may have weaker magnets, which means you can set them closer to the strings without getting artifacts.

    Yeah, don't over wound your strings like that. 2-2.5 wind is enough.
