You do not need " Avenger " to defend from " China Tank General " air attacks because i am 99 % sure that they never build airfield ( which is very stupid thing what developers made , even air units for " general Kwai " are not expensive when you have much money ) . For destroying " Internet Center " you need only 1 " Particle Cannon " . Great game man , hope to see more of 1 versus 7 teamed hard bots !

@@JohnMegacycle Man , try to beat 7 hard " USA Super Weapon General " ( General Alexander ) armies with " China " army . No limit of superweapons , 5000 $ , your random color , random color and positions of bots , your position on top middle on map " Fortress Avalanche , play on fastest speed . I think that is one of hardest challenges on skirmish in " Command & Conquer : Generals - Zero Hour " !

I'm starting to refer the currency used in Generals as "Cashdollars" because of how the different sides should be using different currencies.
Then again, the GLA would be using the USD for their arms deals and perhaps China is exchanging their money for USD?
Also, when doing a female voice, do not do the falsetto approach :P
I mean if you want to get an idea of what General Alexander sounds like, just load up the Challenge Campaign as Juhziz. His first opponent is Alexis.

Septims are the money used in the Elder Scrolls.

I didn't even know it was Solaris until I was playing Emperor: Battle For Dune. Because there are maps in the Skirmishes and stuff not set on Dune and thus you get Solaris donated to you every few minutes I believe.

Epic video man, simply epic (bows down) u got awesome skills. Coincidentally I defeated The tank general on that very day with demo general and it was quite easier than usual. Thx to u all his 7 tank battalions were destroyed and Kwai put on his last stand all alone, was put out of commission on MAY 31, 2015 when Juhziz blew his supreme command center sky high. Historic Day of the end of freaking bunch of tanks RIP. (PS : Generals 2 is getting a new tank general so its officially done). Congratulations.

John i have a trick for you. you play always solo play and then skirmish. If you play your skirmish in multiplayer not solo play you can fight against 7 hard for hours and the game will not crashing.
Most of my problems actually come from multi-player, at least when I'm playing with another human. I'll have to try out your tip though as that sounds interesting. Thanks! :D

+JohnMegacycle Thank you! Yes, I did that too, but EMP Patriots are just very vulnerable to Emperors, so I created bunch of missile defender to aid me.

You only need to double click once for it to go fast ;)
By repeatedly clicking you are actually slowing it down as it keeps switching between fast and slow modes.
matharuonutube I've never experienced that - I think I've always had to continually double click to get it to go fast. Hahaha but at least we know this strategy
John Conway matharuonutube Either of you may be correct. All I know is I've been clicking like a mad man, but that is something that is worth looking into.

At 42:35 when you talk about the money and that, you know how a truck is only $300 dollars? well, that won't be the case today, but back in the time of world war two. You could buy a tank for a $1,000! Now, it would be almost $100,000 for a tank.

fantastic match :) could I possibly recommend doing a red alert 3 uprising/commanders challenge start to finish series? It would be interesting to see how someone else utilizes an extremely basic yet growing arsenal :)

True statements. I try to stay away from PUCs and supers myself though...

How about Spam Aurora Alpha Bomber when you got many Funds.
That's a very powerful tactic, but again, I feel it's too overpowered and will only do it when I need to.
In honesty, I think the USA in general is super overpowered in the mid-late game. Not that it's a bad thing, but China and GLA can easily be picked apart by a USA player, even using infantry and Humvees.
JohnMegacycle I'd mostly play with Toxin, I use Quad, RPGs and Marauders
JohnMegacycle If i use Toxin, I would Make lots os Toxin Networks, Stingers around my Bases so China or USA's Airforce won't get in my base, If a GLA use the Tunnel thing, It would be destroyed soon, because i putted many Forces in the Toxin Networks

I don't know where you can pick it up for free, but this is the version that I've been using, from Origin, and it has worked on Windows XP, 7, 8 and 10.

Danial Mousavi Thank you for saying that! ^_^ To be honest, it's less about the computer and more about how a map is scripted. Scripted means the path the enemy takes to get to your base (attacking) and how they gather resources. There are still several 8 player maps that lag like crazy for me too.
If recommended you check out sites like CnC Labs for more optimized maps. Have fun, commander. ^_^

Just goes to show what shitty balance this game has. Tank general has no artillery and gets roflstomped by emp patriots. US has the best scouting (drone and scan right off the start), best air force, best anti infantry (sniper), best super weapon, best mobility (rocket vee), best mid game upgrade (strategy center), able to keep inveteracy and best detection (100 get you a scouting drone on any vehicle any time you want if you don't already have scan and drone).
Yeah, this game was crazy lopsided. That's one of the reasons why I play a lot of Shockwave. There were lots of rebalancing bits that make the Tank/Infantry general viable.
You should try the shockwave mod. It has 3 new generals with new units for all the other generals.
Trust me, I can't wait to get to that one. I played a few matches and was really impressed how they rebuilt some of the Generals and added the new ones. :)
JohnMegacycle Shockwave is indeed a very nice mod, do you know the Destructive Forces Mod, Contra Mod and Rise the Reds mod? You should try them, too especially the Destructive forces Mod!

jimi - You can tell a game is amazing, without playing it, based on how supportive the community is. Generals, Supreme Commander and Starcraft have really received a lot of community support which makes mods, add-ons and new maps possible. :D

+Nostradante There seems to be a different launcher around for Windows 10, at least that is what I've heard. If that doesn't work, it may be just as well to spin up a virtual machine and host an earlier version of windows. It may sound intimidating, but there are a few good guides out there for setting this up. Best of luck. :D

Do you mean how they don't attack? Sometimes the AI 'goes stupid' as I call it and they just don't feel like attacking. This is something that seems random but happens more when there are more players on the field.

Alphonsus Salomon Certain maps do a better job of scripting and such and provide a better challenge, for sure.

u r very good against ai, but those tactics are completely different(i would say useless) in pvp. from my experience ppl who play a lot against ai are not good in pvp. actually i think this game is best real time strategy for pvp and one of worst in any single player variant.

Playing with the AI for years has won me a lot of victories, but has really given me a bad case of tunnel vision.
I play a bit differently with humans, but I'm by no case the best player.
+JohnMegacycle of course u play good against humans, u prefer ai opponents but because the way u talk and explain things etc it's obvious that u r intelligent(and without that number of games ai or pvp are pointless) and it's sure u r good in pvp. even if not ready u would probably adopt fast to different styles and be competent.

oftern as earlier(some 10 and more eyears ago i was really good), because of job and suff nbut i still can keep up with pro guys.
if you're playing SWG.... you can basically beat any ai on 7.. :D

I'm familiar with him and we are really good friends. For sure, he takes this game to a whole new level and I really respect him for it. True to say that his videos about Generals are also better too. However, there are lots of other games that I play and prefer over Generals. Still I gave this one my all and I'm happy with how it turned out.

That's not dumb at all. I'm still trying to get my schedule to a point where I can do a 'Fan Gaming Day' where I play with my fans and stream it. Till then, I only really get random spikes of time where I can get recording done.

luney146 Once I do have some time, I'll be putting out a video announcing it, so you won't miss it. If I could give one point of advice, and this applies to all RTS games, economy is king. If you aren't producing enough dollars/minerals/widgets and your enemy can best you in the money game, that makes the rest of the battle far more difficult.
You surely could give me some advices coz i suck :D i have to learn a few things then ^^
luney146 if I could pony give you one tip, is a simple point of advice I give and it rings true for every RTS: 'Be mindful of you economy'. Nothing is worse than not having money or resources because you didn't expand. Without enough cash, you are fighting against yourself, so be mindful of your economy, in addition to your army.
