    in conclusion
    pros:
    1. the people - very helpful, unique and chill but at the same time hardworking
    2. the open curriculum - lets you take classes apart from your major requirements
    3. the location - really close to major cities, still has lots to explore
    4. the dorms - a variety of dorming options, really nice
    5. the food - quality of the food is really good
    cons:
    1. motorcycle/bike gangs - really loud and annoying
    2. laundry system - washers and dryers are broken half the time and they take money. laundry isn't free.
    3. financial aid - not as good as other ivies
    4. wealth gap at brown - can be a little awkward.
    5. imposter syndrome - you can feel dumb and like you don't belong here, It happens in all top universities, can be intimidating.

    After watching this video, I really wanna go to Brown🥺 but it is a very prestigious school that has a very low acceptance rate. I feel like I don’t have chances of getting in because of the acceptance rate. Thanks for ur videos, it really pushes me to apply to Brown ED.

    I went to Brown 20 years ago. It was a lot more “elite” feeling back then. More than 60% of students were from private/parochial schools vs public. That has shifted a lot over the last two decades.

    can definitely talk on the third con. there are a good number of people like me whose household income is just above the threshold of qualifying for fin aid, but we can’t possibly pay 85k per year. personally, i’m willing to take on the debt bc of the job opportunities after brown, but it’s still extremely daunting. it especially sucks when they claim that ZERO dollars of demonstrate financial need is met with loans. the truth is there are a bunch of people who will need to take on debt to go to brown, but their income suggests to the institution that they have no need

      I think the most similar schools would be ones with open curriculums ! I feel like this is what causes brown to be so chill and I know there are definitely some other liberal arts schools that may have this type of curriculum. I wish I could give a better answer, but it also just depends on the student environment and stuff

    One major con is the tuition for sure, unless you're on a scholarship lol.

    Hi! I am planning on EDing brown this fall, but I was wondering what transportation around is like? I just need to be able to go the gym, and I am wondering if the one on campus is nice to use or students generally use other gyms?

    • @cecilesch
      @cecilesch  3 роки тому +3

      The one on campus is really great! It even has expensive equipment like pelotons! It’s a 15 minute walk from the farthest part of campus, but if you live on north campus, like half of the freshmen, it’ll be five minutes away! It’s worth it!

    Question, what do you think of AP Capstone?
    Because im taking AP Seminar as a junior and I just don't envision myself researching in the future. As I really want to get AP Capstone because it supposedly help you do academic research and reasoning, I don't know if colleges want a person with an AP Capstone.

    • @cecilesch
      @cecilesch  2 роки тому

      Honestly I think it depends on your family’s financial situation and whether you want to pursue grad school! If you want to get another degree after Brown, I wouldn’t recommend spending all the money right now for undergrad if it would financially burden you. I love Brown but it’s definitely an investment and I think that the full ride might be worth looking into !!

      @bobhave2031 3 роки тому

      Also 20 or Flex. Thanks :)

    • @cecilesch
      @cecilesch  3 роки тому +1

      I don’t recommend sub free personally just because it’s really isolating. If you feel very strongly about substances, go for it, but honestly I don’t even notice substance use that often in my regular dorm and it’s easier to meet people.

    • @cecilesch
      @cecilesch  3 роки тому +1

      Also definitely flex. I never use any of my meal swipes and flex options are better in my opinion and give you more flexibility to try other food places on thayer and in providence without losing meal swipes (because technically every time I eat out for food I’m losing a meal swipe that will be wasted on the 20 plan)
