My Brown University Experience and FULLY Honest Review || Cecile S

Making this video was highkey SAD. I can't believe I graduated and I'm honestly going to miss this school/my college experience so so much. So to all future college students, make the most of your time there! I have some regrets that I get into later in the video, but I definitely think that my "say yes" mindset and interest in exploring everywhere around me (with or without friends!) helped me...

    watching this 4 years later as a sophomore also taking ap seminar and apush 😅 school only recently started so i don’t have much to base my opinion, but honestly ap seminar was not what i was expecting at ALL, there’s basically no guidance and i’m already lost. but i honestly have been more interested in history now that i’m taking apush! when i took world history last year it was kind of boring to me, mainly because we just skimmed over topics so the fact that apush is more detailed makes it a lot more interesting. trying to study is a bit nerve racking though, i have my first quiz soon and i hope i can do well

    • @cecilesch
      @cecilesch 3 місяці тому

      I will def make a video about this but I think the main thing is addressing the core categories they look for in applications so clinical exposure, volunteering, research, and leadership -all in addition to academics and the mcat of course. There’s a lot of unsaid rules in medicine, like the expectation to have done research, but a lot of it can be seen when you look at each med schools class profile. So, if you’re planning on going to an academic program, it’ll likely be more research heavy, while a community based program would want more service. Thus, I think it’s best to hit those four big bases just in case you don’t know where you want to apply yet! Thus, a lot of my ECs started there and then I tried to add when I could but really found it tough to make time for more fun ECs :(

    • @cecilesch
      @cecilesch 5 місяців тому

      hi! I think every college social scene is what you make of it. Greek life really isn't huge here, neither is the sports culture, so I've never felt out in that regard. If you want to go out, sports teams usually host (as do some off campus frats that aren't affiliated) and there's tons of dorm things and other events going in PVD as well! Given that our school feels so small, getting involved in the social scene feels pretty easy since you really can meet so many people through meeting a few and then meeting their friends and so on

    I am doing AP calculus BC this year, and I completely agree with the fact that when you start the syllabus, nothing seems to make sense, there is definitely a point where things click into place, my one piece of advice to anyone doing AP Calc BC would be to memorize all of the differentiation and integration formulas, as well as the series convergence tests as soon as you can so you don't have to worry about it when studying for the final, this makes the course SO much easier, trust me.
