Addy was excited for her school’s Halloween dance, and she was even more excited to dress up with her best friend for the big day. They decided to dress up as M&Ms together, and it was going to be really cute.
One day in class, Addy’s friend told her that she should ask someone out to the dance. Addy thought that was a great idea and decided to ask her crush to go with her. Addy’s friend already knew who her crush was, so she was very supportive - his name was John. John was in their class, too, so Addy’s friend pushed her to ask him at school. Addy decided it was a good idea, and she was
so excited when John said yes.
On the night of the dance, Addy was driving with her mom to the event, and she was planning on meeting up with her friend when she got there. Addy was waiting in front of the school, all dressed up in her costume, but her friend was nowhere to be found. Addy decided to go into the dance by herself, and when she walked in, she saw her friend ALL over John. She was totally shocked. She
didn’t know if she was going to cry or scream.
Addy was really bummed, so she went and sat on the bleachers. Her friend eventually spotted her - and she was wearing a different costume - and approached her on the bleachers. Addy told her that she saw her being all lovey dovey with John, and her friend admitted it. Her friend really wanted a boyfriend, so she just betrayed Addy’s trust for John. Addy couldn’t believe she would do that
to her - especially because they were friends so long.
Addy went and hung out with other people at the dance at had a good time, but she couldn’t stop thinking about what happened with her friend and John.
The next day, Addy went to school and saw her friend and John holding hands together in the hallway. She was like, “What the heck?” Believe it or not, they are still dating to this day.

Honestly I can actually relate. I had a crush on a girl in the 6th grade. One day I decided to tell my friend's about it, but coincidentally that was the same day that same girl asked out my BEST Freind. Now you may be thinking, it's ok since she was the one to ask him, but here's the thing. My best friend had NO idea who that girl was up until that point, and I told him "Dude, I've had a crush on her for a while, I know her name, about her life unlike you, just let me have her." And he was like "But I want a girlfriend."
So the next day they got together, and I felt betrayed to say the least, from both of them. I asked her what she even saw in him and she was like "I just think he's cute."
And I was like, bruh, first off he's not cute, if anything I'm more attractive, and second they both didn't even know each other. There's a lot more to this story, but I'ma leave it at that.
PART 2: So they were together for who knows how long, and one day me and the girl got into an argument (I don't know what was it about) and she said something that made me say "aren't you and (Freind name here) dating?" And she was like, "Actually we broke up..."
I asked my Freind why they broke up and he basically explained that she got jelous at him for talking to another girl, which also counted as cheating to the girl so they broke up. Anyways the girl life went downhill from there, she just broke up with her boyfriend and her parents were divorcing, and everyone in the school knew about it, and and top of that she got asthma, and she blamed it all on me. She then said she was going to kill me one day in class, so I walked up to the teacher to tell her about it, so I called the teacher "teacher" because I didn't know her name, and she was like "Come back when you know my name." SHE BASICALLY IGNORED A STUDENT WHO JUST GOT A DEATH THREAT BECAUSE OF A STUPID NAME. Anyways, now the whole school knows she is planning to kill me, and my freind was like, "If she lays a hand on you I'm going to kill her first."
So one day the school did this thing where people were moved to different classes and had their schedule changed, and guess what? SHE WAS NO LONGER PART OF THE CLASS. She walked in one day and the teacher was like "Oh, you're not in this class anymore, this is your new schedule." And handed her the new schedule and we never interacted again. During the year, my Freind moved, he basically ruined a girl's life by being with her even though I told him not to be with her because I knew her more and that I would treat her with love and respect, but nooo, he wanted a girlfriend, broke up with her, almost got me killed, and left the country. I've never seen or talked to him since ever since he moved, if he let me had her I would have stayed with her and help her with her situations and even marry her in the future, but like I said, SOMEONE wanted a girlfriend. Anyways eventually I moved from that school and that's the end of the story.
The fact that she actually betrayed her best friend cause she wanted a bf just shows how toxic she is and by her attitude it’s clear that she’d do it again if she got the chance

Addy, I’m so sorry you had that experience. You deserve so much more than that. I went through some heartbreak myself with my on-again, off-again boyfriend from high school and I got rejected from my high school crushes and my last crush from college. And I completely understand how much it hurts to be rejected. I hope you find some real friends and a significant other who will love and respect you as a person.

When I was in middle school, I had a major crush on this one boy, we'll call him Phil.
There was this Valentine's Day dance coming up, and I asked him if he would like to go to the Valentine's Day dance with me. And he said he would.
So I go to the dance, and I waited for him. All. Night. Long. For 3 hours.
And Phil never showed up.
I ended up leaving the dance early, tears streaming down my face.
Turns out, he was going out with another girl, who was a year ahead of me, and he was prettier and skinnier than me.
And to this day, I still don't celebrate Valentine's Day whatsoever.

That is not a friend or a best friend, she’s a horrible and toxic person who took a boy she KNEW you liked.
Now I do agree what the friend did was a disloyal toxic thing. But there are two things I feel wrong with the title.
1) You cannot "steal" a guy that is not yours in the sense you guys are boyfriend-girlfriend, fiancé-fiancee, or husband-wife. If he's not any one of those to you, then he is free for anyone. My grandma said when a guy likes you he will show you and allow things to happen. If he doesn't he will be a resisted to temptations, because he likes and respects you. We as females need to start taking this mindset when it comes to guys.
2) It is okay for them to like the same guy, I would think the best friend though should've told she liked him as well. But whoever he chooses is all in his hands. If you are more likely to let a guy's choice between you and your friend destroy a friendship then there needs to be some reworking, just my opinion.

Maturity is when you realize that your goals are much important than someone who isn't even a family member. I had a huge crush on a guy, and he liked me too but I rejected him because my dreams are the ones, listening to which people laugh at, and he was one of them. At that time it hurt because I chose to keep his opinion as one of my concern depicting how he sees me. Now, I don't give a damn about people giving me negativity and I do my best to stay out of it.
