I would add, to go check out rpcs3 compatibility for a game before you play it since not all games run smooth on the emulator. Not a hardware issue just optimization unfortunately. For example, Resistance: Fall of Man runs smoothly but Infamous 2 is a stuttery mess.

I'm tinkering with fight night champion now. I played round 2, 3 and 4. I didn't know I missed this one. In the compatibility it says in-game, but I've found settings making it a stable 30 fps on steam deck.
Thanks for the guide. Initially the game I added was not showing in the game list even after refreshing and restarting, but after opening it manually via file -> "open game" once, it later showed up in the list so I was able to apply patches and such.
EDIT: Ah, thought it was going to work but didn't seem to catch. Still playing around with it. Trying MGS4. Lifesaver! I run mine through emulation station so adding .ps3dir to the end of the folder of the game files looks to have worked.
I got it working in emulation station. I needed to switch the alternate emulator to the directory version. Man, it takes a long time to compile everything.

Has anyone tried using any of the FIFA for PS3 on Steam Deck? How did the career work? for me as soon as I open the coach career the frame rate freezes at 20fps but I don't remember it running like that on PS3 unless there are emulation problems because in the menu it goes to 60fps but as soon as I open the career it freezes at 20 fps

Cant get the Deck inputs to working. controller is set to Evdev and X-box 360 pad 0. please help. have tried a few guides and they all just say it should just work
sorry to disappoint but i just install rpcs3 with emudeck and didn't change any controller input settings and the steam deck controller just works. i checked the settings, if i was to set it myself i would choose Handlers=SDL and Devices=Steam Virtual Gamepad 1.
I can't get to the file unless I'm in gaming mode to upload the firewall for some reason. Also, when you go into the p3 emu, the system is just like a p3 setup, but I can't find my game I downloaded in the ps3 rom

Ps3 and 360 is a bridge too far for steam deck. I have had maybe a handful of games work. I had Red Dead and UFC undisputed 3 working tho, which is all I wanted.
When i get to the point where we have to create the short cut for the game, my game doesnt appear, only my ps2 games that where previously installed, any suggestions?
it's defintely the steam rom manager settings. make sure you toggle ps3, and after you press parse, check if the ps3 roms are reconized. make sure you press save to steam!

It would be a really useful function, for example when playing retro games that have unforgiving difficulty, save states are invaluable.
@@GrownUpGamingGUGNo worries, that’s great that it at least does support save states because I was looking to play Resident Evil 5 Mercenaries Mode with save states if possible. It’s a super hard game mode where you have to chain 150 kills together in a combo, but you have only 10 seconds between kills. Basically you make one mistake and you’ve lost the combo, having usable save states would make this mode so much easier.
I did and it said it was playable, I changed some settings and even went to the wiki and checked to change some recommended setting and still it crashes :(

Just put them in the roms folder and see if the emulator can recognise it. If not, then the format is not supported.

You can extract the iso like a zip file.

That ps3_game and ps3_disc and everything should be put inside a folder with the name of your game. Then put that folder inside Emulation/roms/ps3/

Check your browser, you need to confirm it's okay again for it to download in the downloads tab only your browser. It might think it's harmful.

I've not tested that game so my recommendation is to follow the rpcs3 wiki configs.

Ps3 was he end of my gaming era. I Don't really remember anything fun on the PS4 and have no interest with PS5 or Xbx series.

There's an app called mount unmount iso in the discover software center, I use that.

How to add new update ps3 games and dlc
Right click the game and select install update/dlc.

You're supposed to rip you own games.

Legally you need to have the PS3 game and dump the rom to play on the emulator.

When I go to parsers and click any of the PS3 ones, it says “please shutdown steam if it’s running” haven’t been able to fix it
So the issue is with steam rom manager? You can't get the shortcuts to work?

It says it for you too but then it takes you to that page. When I do it, it get stuck on the parse button, and nothing happens

@@Jona424than it shuts down steam for you. then when i press parse, the shortcuts are created. not really sure why you have issues.

Hi please im kinda stuck here. When im downloading firmware I cant then find it anywhere at all so I cant install it. My downloads folder is empty but it says ive downloaded it on my browser.. anh help would be greatly appreciated thanks
Not sure what's happening on your side. But you can download it on pc or phone and transfer it to your steam deck I think. Just another way to do it.
