Love the scene where Columbo points out to the killer, that the winning lottery numbers appear on Freddy's camera as well. Leon quickly says it's no coincidence coming up with some lie and Columbo just cuts him off saying: I think that first thing was right, it was no coincidence.
Rip Torn is amazing. When he keeps lamenting poor Freddy, it reminds me of him in the film Trial and Error on the witness stand, trying to lie his way out of trouble. Great stuff. I like this one. But I think I'm far more forgiving when it comes to the 80s episodes. I dig the sets and outfits and the overall look more then maybe most, having grown up in that era. Great video! I'm glad I found this channel today.
@@Reggie2000 Glad you enjoyed the video! I love a lot of the 80s/90s shows - can’t wait to do videos for “Murder: A Self Portrait” or “Sex and the Married Detective”!
I have the Columbo Boxset (the one in the cigar box) and reading the description for Death Hits The Jackpot really painted a different image in my mind on what the episode would be. It says "Fred Brower has a problem - he has just won over $30 million in the lottery, and he does not want to share it with his soon-to-be ex-wife"
Ok- Undercover deserves better. Just sayin. The series benefits from that one odd man out-- the treasure hunt for an armored car, and multiple "Undercover" performances by Falk- fingered as a cop for the first time in his career
Rip Torn definitely makes the episode worth a watch.
Thanks Freddie! “Irresponsible, WONDERFUL Freddie!”
@@EchoesOfColumbo Haha!
Rip Torn was the whole reason I watched this episode, and he did not disappoint!

Claiming HE gave Freddy the camera! That’s what started me thinking that all his other stories were probably total lies as well.
Rip Torn was hilarious in this, he alone made this episode worth a 2nd watch.
Torn is amazing! Ever seen him in “Defending Your Life”? Well worth a watch.
@@EchoesOfColumbo No I haven't, I'll have to check it out!

Freddy Got Murdered!
Most insane Columbo content on the tube, 6:48 on goes hard
So much bathtub imagery! Maybe symbolic of Leon trying to wash away the guilt of murdering his nephew?
Really well done!
Thank you!
Top notch underrated content
Thank you, you’re too kind! (But I agree)

Those descriptions are amazing. I like when they say the episode “stars” some now-known actor with a tiny cameo role.
@@EchoesOfColumbo Same, though I won't lie, that description sounded way better. Freddy kills his wife for the 30 million but Columbo works it out
Title of the video sounded kinda like a Monty Python sketch
Awesome

I hope to get to that one some day, give it the re-evaluation it deserves!
