What about that one Time Lord from Dr. Who, you know the one, that hears the sound of his own madness as in knocking in his head. 1,2,3,4. 1,2,3,4. 1,2,3,4. 1,2,3,4. Peered into the hole of the center of the universe or something memory is shotty. The Doctor was fascinated by it intrigued, and the other guy fucking lost his mind and never even realized what had happened to him. That set him on his journey to madness and that's why he does what he did.

That “it cuts deep” from Wurd really got me in my soul. Inspiration well earned across the board!!!!
First of all, Jo's range of voice and accents are incredible! This is the first campaign I've seen from him, but I am so impressed and honestly astounded. Even out of the campaign, his voice, cadence and pitch of JoCat and JoCrap is already incredibly skillful and impressive, but in the campaign, the difference of his normal voice, Dozen's voice, Claudio's voice, freaking Eduardo's voice, and the different accents as well! It is astoundingly good. And it makes roleplaying feel even more alive! I feel like I'm listening to Fritz and Wurd and others speaking to totally different people, but it's just Jo and his godly skill!

And second, and this is one of the reasons I absolutely love DnD. The fact that the All or Nothing coin was just an item that Buck bought back at Satchia, is the end of the scene where he turns a new leaf, is... my god. Could they have planned it out? Probably, but I also somewhat doubt that. And the layers that one item has to the character is brilliant. Buck is a gambler, that's obvious, and he uses it now and then. But the coin is also a symbol of sorts to his goal, looking for Lady Luck. And him throwing the coin at the end, symbolizing he's given up on his search for this god that may or may not exists, is just fucking beautiful. If something like that was done in a TV show or something, I think I would've clapped irl. But the fact that it happened probably without much prior planning, just makes it all the more meaningful.
I'm sorry, I'm ranting about a coin for god's sake. But I just love this series. As of time of writing this, there is 21 sessions out, and I am so heartbroken because it means I'm about to catch up, and I'm gonna have to wait to keep watching. But even if I have to wait until I'm on my death bed, I am gonna, because this is the only DnD series that I actually honestly love.
And by any off chance that Jo actually see this comment... for whatever reason. Maybe Lady Luck blessed me. Even if this series is the only project you're finishing from this point onwards, I won't lie, I will be very sad and probably cry a little. But don't feel bad because the amount of time I've laughed while watching this series, even though I'm sick and I sound like a seagull, has more than made up for any amount of sadness I'm gonna feel when this ends. Loved ya when you're here, and will love ya when you're done.

The portal closing moment was GREAT! Red's noise at the description was hilarious. Laira was so badass at the start of the fight with her quick-thinking and action, Buck got some much-deserved anger out, poor Fritz lost her water skin and bed roll, and Wurd is developing his religious beliefs. I'm so invested in this group ♥
I just quickly wanted to say that your show is amazing and watching it and the character buck inspired me to go and create a expanded wild magic table that I thought would be fun to share with others. I would love to here what anyone who sees this thinks.
Wild surge table
--starting at lvl three you have the classic 1d8 table(I did change the damage for 3,5, and 8 though)
1.Each creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 1d12 necrotic damage. You also gain temporary hit points equal to 1d12 plus your barbarian level.
2.You teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. Until your rage ends, you can use this effect again on each of your turns as a bonus action.
3.An intangible spirit, which looks like a white will o wisp, appears within 5 feet of one creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you. At the end of the current turn, the spirit explodes, and each creature within 5 feet of it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d4 plus your rage damage modifier in force damage. Until your rage ends, you can use this effect again, summoning another spirit, on each of your turns as a bonus action.
4.Magic infuses one weapon of your choice that you are holding. Until your rage ends, the weapon's damage type changes to force, and it gains the light and thrown properties, with a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet. If the weapon leaves your hand, the weapon reappears in your hand at the end of the current turn
5.Whenever a creature hits you with an attack roll before your rage ends, that creature takes 1d4 plus your rage damage modifier in force damage, as magic lashes out in retribution.
6.Until your rage ends, you are surrounded by multicolored, protective lights; you gain a +1 bonus to AC, and while within 10 feet of you, your allies gain the same bonus.
7.Flowers and vines from an alien origin temporarily grow around you; until your rage ends, the ground within 15 feet of you is difficult terrain for your enemies.
8.A bolt of light shoots from your chest. Another creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 1d4 plus your rage damage modifier as radiant damage and be blinded until the start of your next turn. Until your rage ends, you can use this effect again on each of your turns as a bonus action.
------at lvl 6 it’s now a d10 table
9.at the start of your rage 1d6 hunting traps spawn wherever you wish so long as it’s within eyesight. Also, as a reaction on your turn you can summon another one. hunting traps use your spell save dc against their perception and escape attempts. The number of traps you may have active on the field is equal to twice your proficiency bonus; they disappear if your rage ends.
Hunting trap
This trap forms a saw-toothed steel ring that snaps shut when a creature steps on a pressure plate in the center. The trap is affixed by a heavy chain to an immobile spike driven into the ground. A creature that steps on the plate must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d4 piercing damage plus your rage damage modifier and stop moving. Thereafter, until the creature breaks free of the trap, its movement is limited by the length of the chain (5 feet long). A creature can use its action to make a strength check, freeing itself or another creature within its reach on a success. Each failed check deals piercing damage to the trapped creature equal to your rage damage modifier.
10.You gain the effects of the enlarge spell until your rage ends.

11. Your body radiates this strong invisible aura that frees you of your worldly bonds; You gain a flight and swim speed equal to your movement speed till your rage ends.
12. when you hit a creature with your weapon while you are raging, you curse your target with rabid fury. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or suffer one of the following effects (creatures choice):
On its turn the targeted creature must go and make a melee attack against another creature of your choice that you can see.
Target takes 2d8 plus your rage damage modifier in psychic damage

13. Your insides become magically imbued; you become temporarily immune to the effects of Charmed, Exhaustion, Frightened, Paralyzed, Petrified and Poisoned but you cannot be healed until your rage ends
14. An enemy of your choosing within eyesight of you must make a wisdom saving throw. On a failed roll they will have disadvantage on attacks against anyone but you. You can teleport to the spot next to their location as a bonus action so long as you have line of sight. Also you will magically know their location so long as they are on the same plane of existence until your rage ends.
15. You let out an otherworldly scream that sounds angelic to allies and monsterous to your enemies; pick a number of people equal to your proficiency bonus. If they are an ally then they can choose to either be (A)inspired and get a 1d8 inspiration die or (B)soothed by your presence and heal for 1d8. If they are an enemy then they must make a wisdom saving throw. On a failed save they have disadvantage on their next roll and their movement speed is reduced to 0 until the end of their turn. If they succeed then they have their movement speed reduced to half unless they are moving in the opposite direction from you. Afterwards as a bonus action you can pick one person and if they are an ally then they get a 1d8 inspiration die, if they already have one then it heals them for 1d8hp instead. if they are an enemy they must make a saving throw again against the effect from above.
16. Your body takes on a white ethereal property, At the start of your rage pick a damage type out of psychic, radiant, and necrotic, you will now be immune to it until your rage ends.
17. A flaming eye appears on your forehead; You gain advantage on checks and saving throws on a stat of your choosing and have proficiency in all skills related to that stat until your rage ends. If you already have proficiency in a skill then you cannot roll lower than a 10.
18. The enemy you are fighting has a large blue sigil of unknown design or origin appear on the ground 30 feet around them before disappearing from view. The mark then reappears on your enemy's head; When you drop an enemy to zero hp, any excess damage that you deal will magically carry over to the nearest enemy within 30 feet of the person you killed. This effect will end when your rage does.
19. For an instant, over a hundred pale blue mirages of yourself appear occupying the same space you do and attacking your target in various maneuvers and styles. All of them quickly merge together into a single entity until only the most optimal attack route appears in front of you; You now do a critical hit on both 19 and 20 on attack rolls as well as reroll 1’s until your rage ends.
20. Pick between (A)regaining all uses of your rage or (B)gain the effects of a short rest(you may use any hit dice you have to heal during it). Once you have picked one you may reroll on the table.
Numbers 12 and 15 might need further tweaking and testing but overall i would love to hear any thoughts anyone might have.

Buck is the equivalent of a mangey dog chasing a cautionary tale.. if a god does their job right, you don’t even know that they’re there. For faith keeps those who worship on the path. It seems Buck has little faith in Lady Luck if he needs confirmation of her existence.
Laira was incredibly lucky to take just 30 damage. The chances of taking 30 or less damage from 10d8 are 1 in 45.5
Those numbers real or did you make it up for gratification for a comment? I hope those numbers are real though.....
@@BlackMoonHowls I just used a dice probability calculator, specificaly the one on the gigacalculator website and asked the chances of the result of ten 8 sided dice being less than or equal to 30. So no, it is not made up.

Hoo boy, this one. Spoilers below.
So I feel like chat was giving Buck a hard time with limited information. The guy had a major lifechanging experience once and he craves to feel it again, to contact the divine. That's a rough situation, to have experienced a high so intense that nothing else compares to it. He's burned bridges trying to find that divine presence again, and yes, his current team won't be waiting for him after this is over. He doesn't have a solid bond with them, even Wurd was only a colleague at best before this whole thing started. Buck's talking about what happened before the pilgrimage, and making a judgement on what he guesses or fear will happen after. The guy doesn't need a priest; he needs a wizard, they deal with that sort of thing by default.
I do have to wonder, again, how much the players and the DM know about experiences like this, or magical practice in general, since it's so often misrepresented by popular media (yet rarely called out as such, weird how that works...). It feels like Buck is meant to be a twist on the wizard who sacrifices everything to get ultimate magical power, but done in barbarian form with a magical rage. Not sure if that was the intent, but it's interesting to see, and eerily familiar. Personally, I've been in a similar situation for a little over a decade now, and it is not fun, though mine was a semi-constant sustained feeling that was ripped away forever (so far), not a singular intense experience. Thankfully, the real life equivalent doesn't require burning bridges, and nobody really notices a difference on the outside.
Start to notice how Fritz often act over dramatic(maybe unreasonable?) in conflict situations (Like with Astropio (if i can remember correctly) or Buck today). I'm unsure if it's Fritz character or Poi influence... But still, love cast and game you provide them Jo. Good day ya all!
