Hey dude, never commented before but I’ve been a fan ever since the first crapguide to monster hunter came out, and I feel inclined to say, do whatever feels best for you. I can’t speak for everyone but at least for myself, if you feel like the trade off of making content and getting toxic people all up on your case is not worth it, then I agree with you 100%. I’m just another faceless nobody on the internet, but I hope that you can one day feel comfortable enough with making content and sharing with at least your friends and family, and maybe some patrons too! But whatever you decide is the best option for your well being, I support you all the way! I’ll miss seeing new uploads from you, but I’m a fan of YOU, not just your content, so don’t feel bad about needing to stop, or feel like you need to apologize to your fan. It's easy to say to not let things bother you, but when those scum MAIL packages to your house and to family members, of which could have a number of things in them... Hi, Jocat. I never really commented on UA-cam or Twitch (I live in germany so it's hard to catch you live) but always loved every second I was blessed with the gift of your content. You were always a safe haven for me. Whenever I was down, your content and wholesomeness cheered me up and whenever I was happy I was even happier when watching your content. Over the years it became a safe mental space and it felt almost like coming home whenerver I heard your voice.
This is all not to plead with you to keep doing all this. It's the only right thing for you to do... well... whats right for you. You never owed us anything. You were always just a gift. And I just want to say (just like a lot of people are certainly doing right now and for the past days and days to come) that you did good. Great even. And no amount of idiots can take that away from you or us.
Even if you never do something online again, I wish that you will look back at these Years and know that you did a good thing. Not a lot of people can say that about themselfs.

Lol did you get the Bret reference?! Criken, Tamto, Bed, Strippin, Scifri, Charborg, I love the theater RP guys. Thespians we are. Also, Liara's referral to former Prince Zuko's Any% Speedrun. Also, since YT keeps shadow removing my comments I keep making. Praising the story telling, the NPC's/Art to match the faces. From the Role play and the emotional cutting and bleeding for the audience, to the Range of voice acting from Jocat. From the twists and turns in backstories, to the emotional drama of each character interaction was phenomenal. The story telling has been the best I have had heard in a while looking for other D&D campaigns. This was truly magical and enticing, a story to encapsulate the audience listening.
You're a hero to me, Jocat. I know the decision to leave must have been tough. If you ever see this, I hope you're happier than before you left. o7

I remember how incredible the DM segment was with jocrap coming to understand how to get along and build a story for the players. I don't remember ever commenting before, but I've been a fan of your works for years now. You helped me through a very difficult time (to put it mildly), without even knowing it. Before I discovered OT, before I gained the supportive circle of friends I have now, back when I was still in the closet and surrounded by homophobia, transphobia and abuse, you showed me that true allies *do* exist. Your stance on trans rights and gender expression have been an inspiration to me. You made me feel valid and seen, at a time when I felt hopeless and alone. I'm writing all this now because I just found out about the awful hate campaign... Those people are pathetic. The only thing they bring to this world is hate and vitriol, whereas you saved a lonely russian transbian's life without even knowing it, by giving her courage and strength to hold on, to not give up, and to keep fighting until I was able to get access to HRT and a supportive community, despite my country's countinuing descent into fascism. You helped me survive. You, and people like you, are the reason I'm still alive, and fighting for my brothers, sisters and enby siblings who feel just as lost as I once felt. You helped change my life for the better. And judging from the other comments here, I feel like I'm not the only one who feels this way. Please take care of yourself, as much time as you need. I had actually abandoned Monster Hunter, Dungeons and Dragons, and Final Fantasy 14 all before you did guides on them. I was browsing around and I caught Projared's review of MH:W and thought about getting into it, but decided against it. Your animation, though, inspired me to finally pick it up and I've been playing ever since. Through this game, D&D, and FF14, BG3, and more I developed a small community of supportive friends and loved ones that I wouldn't have if I hadn't found your videos. I want to deeply and sincerely thank you for the content you've provided with the community, for your animations and streams and video essays, your deep dives into character creators, and more. I was angered and saddened to read the goodbye you left on your site; not at you, but at those who did you this much harm to you for simply being yourself. I understand, though, that you need a break from all of this. I understand if that break lasts forever and you never come back. I wouldn't blame you in the slightest. I do hope, however, that you can come back one day. Not for me, not for anyone else here, but for you. I hope you can come back because making the content you do makes you happy, if it makes you happy. I wish nothing but the best for you and your family, and I love you, Jo. I was bullied all through my school life, so I get how exhausting it is for some inferiority-complex idiots to decide they have an excuse to make your day worse. Those folks can take a collective leap into a red dragon's lair. Harrassment is a game played by cowards and pathetic, small individuals who can't make anything of themselves, so they take it out on the first focus of envy, vulnerability or otherwise for their own shallow, selfish little satisfactions.
You've given us nothing but entertainment, happy content, good feelings and a healthy energy that any of us could aspire to. I've watched all your videos, including your stream vods, and I'm going back to each and every one to ensure I remembered to click that happy little thumbs-up button. I heartily encourage everyone else to do the same.

I'm sorry that you are getting so much grief from people. Thank you for everything you have produced. You owe us nothing, but I'm glad for the wide variety of media you have made for us. I hope you do return to create more stuff one day, but understand that you need to do what's best for you. I have used your D&D crap-guide series to help 9 of my friends jump into D&D and figure out what classes they have. Me and 3 of them have bought just about every goblin plush you have designed and put up on Makeship. We joke about it constantly how we are all grown men that were/are in the military, and we're excited to see and get the new gobo plushies when they come out. Again, thank you for the joy you have brought to me, my friends, and the slew of fans that you have. I hope that you find happiness and fulfillment in whatever you pursue next.

It was your Video's that inspired me to start playing DnD instead of just staring at it from UA-cam... I started a group with my co-workers and we had a lot of fun!
If nothing else, I want you to know you are an inspiration to many and you've changed lives for the better, you're a hero to many and you will be missed. I want you to know that you were one of the reasons I began DMing. Your videos inspired me to open my world to new things, and even helped me to feeling comfortable with hosting a table in real life. I made a lot of friends whom I otherwise wouldn't have had the good fortune to meet because of this.
Know that to me, even though we've never met, that you are loved. This community is better off than it was before you chose to make content, and the world too, because we all were allowed to share our time with you.
There's a good chance you'll never read this, and I accept that, but I wanted to share it with you regardless. I wish you well in all that you do. Just remember, it's never goodbye.
