I wish I bought this one for my son to start instead of the Christmas Express
Tbh I think the gwr 101 is a good little starter no matter what the livery is but yes the Christmas express is a bit more novelty product really
Thanks for this video.
can't go to a british toy shop without seeing this
Yes I completely agree!! Very mass produced!!
There was no such company as the R. Fripp Mining Company Limited. Robert Fripp (happily married to Toyah) started the band King Crimson in the late 1960's. The debut album of the band was 'In The Court of The Crimson King'. Quite why The Valley Drifter train set has this naming is unknown, perhaps someone at Hornby was/is a King Crimson fan!
Haha love this! So hope that's somewhat true! 😅
Can't find an R Fripp mining but I know that Robert Fripp is a prog rock guitarist married to Toyha Wilcox. His band was called 'King Crimson' so I think the Hornby designers are having a nod and a wink to the Loco name.
That really would not surprise me if someone was a fan of them who had a part in designing the set!
Is this 040 scale?
It is a 0-4-0 locomotive yeah
