I used to get a rover ticket from Southern Vectis bus company for around £1:05p you could go all around the Isle of Wight on the busses and then catch this train from Ryde pier to Sandown as well included in the price. Nice times. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Nice to know this set is getting a new lease of life. I'm old enough to have travelled in 1938 Stock both in their days on the London Underground and also during their time on the IoW. So pretty nostalgic for me. 🙂

It's my childhood memory I,m autistic and I still like 👍 the show its one of the greatest it doesn't matter how old I am. Thomas is also for autistic people it helps them to keep them relaxed. I been autistic since September 1989 amd I,ow also be a fan of Thomas the Tank Engine as I,m mad about different types of trains

Whoever competes with Eurostar, they will need to set up passport controls at a terminal other than St. Pancras, as the passenger facilities there are so crowded. Maybe that company will make Stratford International really international.

The problem is that Richard Branson is jumping the gun on this scenario as there are more than Virgin Trains bidding to do this and the restricted train paths through the Channel Tunnel and at London St Pancras International, not only that the limited space at the Channel Tunnel train maintenance depot in the UK and the fact that the manufacturers have not received any firm orders from Richard Branson yet but pure speculation

Personally if I had to put any money on Virgin selecting a manufacturer for cross-channel services, I would think they'd choose Alstom due to having a history of already working together in the past and because it could be a potential follow-up order to the TGV M stock or maybe even a non-tilting New Pendolino design like Italo's ETR 675. If they were to go with Hitachi I would say it'd be derived from an ETR 1000 (Recciarossa) design.
