Y'all are my favorite fabrication/hooning channel on YT. Ethan's lack of self preservation coupled with his fabrication/design skills is top tier. Extremely entertaining to say the least. Then add Edwin's editing and drone piloting skills. Chef's kiss. With how he keeps sending this Humvee. I hope y'all plan to beef up the tie rod situation. Would hate to see this project pigeon toe off a table top jump. I agree on the Alaska road trip once the project is finished. Maybe a Rubicon trail challenge as well......

I think supercharger for the torque and somewhat simpler build process. I think you could make entirely sufficient power without having to mess with hot and cold side piping and oil feed lines for turbos, and all that nonsense. Tuning should be a bit easier as well. Boost control done by pulley instead of fiddling with wastegates and such.

@@EdwinOlding not that bad. But at a minimum. He should install low profile mechanical suspensions at the base of the seat. They typically are used for tractors. But continuous vibration to the spine is bad. He needs to reduce as much as possible. Most of us truck drivers dont get good suspension in the trucks. I have had far worse than him. With an air suspension seat. Dont ask me where. I nicknamed it demon road. Extreme Percent grade short hills. Typically about 10 in a row. You charge at the bottom. Cause it feels like a boat going over a wave. All you see is hood and sky. Very fun and dangerous. 180 point double Pretrip is required.

Have you guys ever considered doing cerakote for some of your larger parts? You can build a simple oven out of some rigid foam to whatever size you need and curing temps are much lower than powder coat (as low as 150F). You can just use a heat gun for the heat source. I use this method for larger bike parts like frames and swing arms mostly. Then you don’t need to worry about buying a gigantic oven and don’t have to outsource for coating big parts! Aaron Colton has a lot of cool videos using this method. Love the work you guys do 🤙🏼

Yes, the spring does carry the weight of the vehicle but that’s also the max force it sees (at full compression). The shock attachment sees higher dynamic loads as it needs to slow down the spring during extension (so thats the spring force) and slow down the vehicle during compression (mass times (de)acceleration)

That drone shot under the Humvee was epic! I was fearing for that drones life but Edwin's timing was spot on!

Humvee camper sounds amazing. That’s a whole new series right there - extreme camping. Would watch that.

My favourite project so far. Love your attention to detail, how you refuse to leave a gap on the strut bar mount 👌

The jump over the drone was really good, it could've been a scene in a large production action movie!

Watching Ethan's fabrication brain kick in is such a satisfying part of the videos. That extra time and little change on the mill completely changes the part and overall look. 👌🏽

The cinematography in this entire video was amazing. I was sitting her like, "Damn, these are some really awesome slowmo closeups on stuff, they really stepped up their filming game" then ya'll had to go and jump a drone with a humvee.
Also a roadtrip to Alaska episode(s) sounds incredible to watch.

The spring rate for those HMMWVs are that heavy because of the design standards for use.
One of those standards is being dragged out of the back of an aircraft in flight and then fall to the earth under parachutes. Sure, they're strapped, blocked, and chocked to an Air Force cargo pallet, but those things don't have any suspension or shock mitigation.

Guys upgrade tacomas to 700# springs when they put bumpers and winch on their tacomas. Surprising to see 650# work for this

Been wanting to LS swap an Humvee for years! My first LS swap was in 2005. All the Humvees that I've found never seemed to get finished. Was very curious as to why.. and now we know. Power and ride is peas and carrots. Thanks for bringing us along!

I use to run a large scale metal finishing business, glad yall finally got a small set up to do small parts. Id recommend finding small kitchen oven off market place so you can hang parts. Those shock towers looks sick, I don’t think the powder was cured long enough. It’s hard to over cure, easy to under-cure.

    Ideas Fellas:
This “Pick Up V” could be the Tow Rig for the Monster Bat-Pod.
You could take one of the many dead car bodies laying around and convert one into a custom trailer for the Bat-Pod.
If you have another Humvee that isn’t working or is just for parts, turn that into a custom Off-road Trailer. Fully equipped with tools, 🧰 parts, tents ⛺️, water tanks like the Aussies use on their Over landing adventures.
Great Videos as always guys. 🎉🎉
