Like you said, I have an altoids tin and things come and go with my keys. Some things I enjoy are the SOG key folding knife, a lighter and beeswax wick with the custom drilled holes, and the pocket knife sharpener with the diamond impregnated rod. I really appreciate the variety of suggestions, since I learned a few things from watching this video and finally took a closer look at the leatherman tools. Thanks, this helped a lot.
The Gerber Shard is probably one of the most useful tools I've found. Philips and flat head screwdriver, wedge, bottle opener, general pointy object. All on a tiny flat piece of metal.
I carry a lighter on a keychain that I can also use as a bottle opener,a light,and fire starter..but the beauty of it all I can actually walk around with it in my pocket..lol
I've got a key chain condom holder with fero rod(no giggidys intended), mini mag led(not sure on model but puts out 32 lumins) , a small bond arms snake slayer pistol(shoots 45cal bullets or 410 shotgun shells), and also a mini bong with a bowl with a nail option for totally on the go dabbing with a pocket vector torch most excellent I highly recommend this setup
I put a 1 inch diameter key type, split ring on my individual items. They all get slid onto a locking, climbing type, professional carabiner that clips onto my belt. I can easily and quickly remove it for use or to access any of my keys. I have another carabiner that clips on to my belt that my gadget carabiner snaps into for carry purposes. I know it sounds like a lot of weight and it does get noisy but I have grown use to it. I use my belt carry tool kit everyday.

Good kit. I use most of that but don't rotate unless going forest so urban kits stays the same for consistency. Squirt ps4 though for multitool as it has pliers which double as extremely precise and durable tweezers, and scissors and other tools including useable screwdrivers that are less likely to break due to being shorter. Torch is Klarus mix6 ti which does 23 or 3 or 85 lumens. Awesome tint too and no pwm. Love it. Gerber Shard prybar...one of the good things Gerber makes. 64gb usb that looks really similar to yours. Ya cant seem to get these ones anymore so I might get a few of your Kingston style for spare. You're right, this style of usb stick is amazingly durable and compact...perfect keychain usb stick (usb speck?) A numyth tohil peanut lighter. I do love this but its a bit bigger and pricier. Deal Extreme has some great little peanut lighters for like $1.50 delivered. They are great. Finally I have a few dealextreme / ebay pill boxes/capsule cannisters. These house my daily use pills and some painkillers and also another houses a AAA spare battery for the Klarus + a note on runtimes and lumens that helps stop battery rattle too. These pill capsules can be had for like $5 for five of them or $5 per for the really fancy ones. Since the Tohil lighter and battery canister are a bit heavier they are ringed to the leatherman caribiner which is hooked to my side belt loop. A bit of ranger band around the tohil stops them clanking around and The rest is attacheded to an 8 inch cobra paracord braid which trails into my front pocket. This can reach the front door lock without needing detachments. In fact any tool can be used without detachment from the belt loop. I like your system and it takes time and research to arrive at a useful set of tiny tools which I appreciate. It is very addictive too and 'can' get pricey! I call my setup 'The Six Million Dollar Chain' !
I use coated cables for a survival keyring I put together. They're better since the bare metal ones can fray, and you don't want to be grabbing one of those when they do. Covers the 3 absolute basics, plus a writing instrument, and a knife-based tool. Coated cable from Lowe's Hardware. Shelter is just a paracord bracelet from Wal-Mart (about 7 feet in all). Fire is the striker from a 2.0 Light My Fire Army model firesteel (and that has an integrated whistle, so it covers part of Signaling too). Though the very same striker from a Scout 2.0 model will also work. Those can be found at REI, EMS, and Dick's Sporting Goods stores. Plus a small integrated magnesium bar with flint. Like a Doan's but far less magnesium. Has an integrated hole for attachment. Best bet is Survival Resources.com. Signaling, along with the whistle covered above, is a micro mirror (S. Resources.com again but I got mine out of a cheap SOL survival kit from Dick's). You will need to attach a tiny split-ring onto the hole at one corner of the mirror to get it to fit onto the cable. And a Inova/Nite-Ize coin-cell light with three modes. Full on, moon-mode, and low-level strobe. Navigation is covered by a Mini Comp II compass. This is the absolute best of the tiny mini compasses out there. You can even use it with a map for orienteering. Something you can't do with other mini compasses. REI has them. So does S. Resources.com. So all the basics are covered. But a good writing instrument is still needed if you have paper and need to leave notes for any rescuers who might be trying to find you. I recommend a red mini Sharpie marker. Stubby, and already has a keychain attachment. Plus, red will stand out. Ironically, these have become much harder to find in recent years in any color, even basic black. Best bet is Home Depot or try a Google search on the internet. (Ironically, Staples does NOT carry them.) Finally, a knife-based tool. Has to be small, but still pragmatic. At first, I chose a Gerber Dime (from Target). A useful set of tools. Plus, comes with integrated tweezers. So no need to add dedicated tweezers for tick removal. If your choice doesn't have that option, the tweezers shown in the vid, is a good one to include. Which is what I'll be doing since in the end I realized the Dime, while having a very nice set of tools for EDC purposes, had a knife too small for actual survival situations in the woods. Replaced it with a solid locking non-Bear Grylls version of the Gerber Compact Scout II folding pocket knife. Yup, it's just like the BG in every way, except his stupid logo isn't on it. The black grip is light grey, and the orange portion of the handle is black. An excellent little thin pocket knife. I did have to put a small split-ring on it since the lanyard hole is just too small to fit over the cable. The blade is about 2.75 inches long. Short, but long enough to be useful in a survival situation if you've lost all your other cutting tools. (Got the knife at Wal-Mart.) Top off with a carabiner clip to attach to a belt loop, and you're all set. Yes, my set-up is a bit bulky. But it covers the absolute basics of fire, shelter, Navigation/Signaling, along with a proper tool option, and a writing instrument.
I carry a firesteel on all my keychains (often a BSA Hot Spark). But I also think it's a good idea to carry some tinder to get from spark to open fame. For "slick" appearances, I've used a pill tube with some Tinder Quick tabs stuffed inside. But my current favorite is a six- to nine-inch length of common jute twine. I tie an overhand knot an inch back from each end to prevent fraying, double the string over and attach it to the ring using a lark's head. In practice, you can scrape off a pile of fluff from either end using your knife. Or you can cut off an inch or so and separate the fibers by hand. As a bonus, the twine sort of cushions the other items when in my pocket, and keeps them a little bit quieter.
problem with that usb is the actual black plastic storage thing can come loose and fall out. almost lost all my data in a parking lot that way. turned around and looked down cause i heard the faintest sound of something hit the ground. almost didn't take it with me cause i didn't realize what it was at first.
I carry a small kit on my keyring everyday. Most of the items on it can be bought at Wal-Mart or online. I have a Leatherman Squirt PS4 which has spring loaded plyers/wire cutter, a knife blade, a 2 sided file/large flathead screwdriver, a medium flathead screwdriver/bottle opener, a philips head screwdriver, and spring loaded scissors. Thnis is attached using a Nite Ize 1.5 lb S-biner; Next is an SOG knife sharpener/fire steel attavched with a lobster claw hook; next is a UST Spark Force ferrocerium rod/striker wrapped in 8 ft of 550 paracord that is looped into anothe lobsterclaw hook that also has a handcuff key on it; next is a Coghlans campi whistle that has a built in compass, thermometer and magnifying glass attached by another lobster claw hook; and lastly is a Nite Ize Bug Lite that has high, low and flash mode high intensity white LED activated by a push on/push off button and has bendable legs that can wrap around something or be formed into a stand. This is attached with another micro S-biner. It is a bit bulky for dress pants but works fine for the cargo pants I usually wear.

I've tried almost everything. Last couple years I use a P-7, with car fob key, Victorinox Cadet, and Maratac AAA light. Rest goes in my Swiss Army pack, the smallest they offer, with one strap. I got everything except the kitchen sink in that pack, works good for me. Other pockets I carry revolver, Strider, and Para2….Good vid, I enjoyed it.
I carry a no name bottle opener, a Brente bt01 (150 lumens) twist light and a SOG Key Knife. (I use this little knife a lot at work-a lot less scary looking to the sheeple). I keep it all secure to a belt loop with a Bomber & Co parachord lanyard. It has a spring-loaded clasp and a ferro rod woven into the lanyard.
Another awesome video LS. I need to pick up one of those flash drives you just showed. I like to carry a mosin nagant tool on my key ring. It has tons of uses. Mini prybar, screwdriver, and last ditch self defense weapon just to name a few.
Awesome setup. I love carrying mine. I have the tweezers, a pry bar, Sog key knife, P38, handcuff key, victorinox nail clippers, a small light, small carabiner, and a leatherman micra. I added a figure 9 which is supposed to tighten paracord. I am thinking of ditching it though.

I also carry a carabiner with a B.opener with a mini light , folding scissors, swivel bulldog clip ( to clip to any clothing or gear[ good when u got shorts with no pockets and a t-shirt on]), 3 close pins , one medium neodymium magnet( reduces noise. I can pick the keys up if i drop them in a hole or in water. I could clip it on myself also), 2 plastic twist ties ( from coffee i drink lol), mini spool of fishing line with one plastic twist tie to hold it. Of course i have other EDC items in a pouch to support this like a knife, lighter/ F.lens, tape, compass and mirror.
I found and bought the aircraft cables on ebay after watching your video.I carry a hand cuff key on my key chain as well as the strike force fire steel but now i can add my flashlight onto my key chain once i recieve my air craft cables,thanks for the great idea.Does the cable screws ever come loose on their own ,just wondering if i will have to titen the screw now and then or not ?

I personally carry an aircraft cable key ring with a Leatherman Style CS, Gerber Shard, UST Pico flashlight, and of course my keys for car and home. I'm looking to add a usb flash drive, and some sort of paracord keychain/lanyard to it as well.
I bought one of the Williams tactical keys by CRKT...looks like a giant key but is designed as a self defence weapon. Not as good as a knife but you can have it on your keyring and it just blends in. You could say it's low key!.. Designed so you can hold it with two fingers with your fist clenched, would recommend them to anyone.
Great vid, quite alot of really good options for light weight edc. I can't say i have one edc keychain but many i carry around on my person at all times, Very partial to the fenix E01, aswell as roughly 20-25 Ft of cordage for shelter or snaring needs. i carry as norm two knifes at all times negating the need of a micro multi tool.As for one of the comments below regarding your p38 can openers, simple fix might be either a small ranger band, rubber band or even a bit of cordage of your choosing.
i got similar wire cable on CountyComm for my keyring. However, it occasionally came unscrewed and I lost items. Be careful that it stays securely closed.
I love the Nite Ize DoohiKey. It's probably not as good quality as the brewzer but it has a carabiner clip for easy removal and a few more tools. If you're willing to sacrifice a bit more pocket space for your light, the Olight S1 Baton delivers 500 lumens in a pocket sized light that can attach to a keychain. It's about the largest light you would want to put on a keychain (shorter than the Foursevens Preon P1 but fatter) and some find it too large. The Foursevens mini ML is about the same size and delivers 216 lumens but costs less and weighs less.

My off-road keyring: pocket compass 1.5", blast whistle, large P-38 can opener. I will probably pick up a Swiss Tech Utili Key (a key sized knife, mini-tool) to put with my keys, and I'm looking for a light, so I appreciate your top two. I carry separate blades. To me, a keyring is a kit, so I equip it for the items, size, weight that is appropriate. Scale the tools for the kit size, have nested, modular kits.
What actually lives on my keychain: - swiss army knife classic SD - Streamlight Nano - keys - a plastic pealess whistle Sometimes I drag out the micra or leatherman squirt ps4, but that depends on what I'm doing. Today - used the swiss army knife scissors to cut out a prescription for medicine (my doctor prints it out now, and pretty much wastes the entire piece of paper). Used my flashlight to look at stuff in the basement....
A Gerber Shard on my key chain. A True Utility KeyTool overlapping one of my keys. A BCB Mini Work Tool in my wallet. All bases covered. ALWAYS carried ! The only tool that is any use is the one you have at the time. How do you uncork a wine bottle with these EDCs ? Take the foil off the top - put the base of the bottle in your shoe and bang the heel repeatedly against a wall.
For me i got two lanyards with lots of items. Keys, car keys, Leatherman Micra, Mini Sharpies, Gerber Shard, NiteCore Tube Keychain Light (It's rechargeable by micro USB.) Energizer Wind up Carabiner light (Doesn't need batteries ever, just wind it up and you got light.) and a JetScream whistle. I also always keep a folding knife with me, a Leatherman Crater. One predominantly has my keys and a light source. The other has everything else on it. I'm female, so i have this stuff in a bag with me. I do carry other items too.
I stopped carrying a prybar as I never used it and I could not find any good stories/reasons to carry it. As I live in the people's republic of DC, I carry a Swiss Key on my key chain as well as a AAA flashlight, P-51 can opener, and a small but loud whistle. If I have a bag/briefcase, etc., I also carry a Bick lighter with duct tape, extra flashlight, extra AAA battery, and a day's worth of meds.
I have my keys on a quick release deal that's on a #4 niteize s-biner. Just sine keys,a peanut lighter,a victorinox classic and an o light i3s. Don't like a lot on actual keychain myself. Do have a couple of keychain tools from Swiss tech I keep on my person along with a Gerber shard I keep on exterior of edc bag. Used to all be on keychain but it all became to bulky. Good vid. I'm jealous! I just have a small Victorinox Swiss army knife, a $1 button-cell squeeze-light (now with on/off switch too!) for quickly finding keyholes and such, and an iTP A3 XP-G2 100 lumen AAA flashlight with low/med/high modes, much more useful than 15 lumens to me. It's nearer 200 lumens with a lithium-ion cell in it (short bursts on high mode only, it gets hot). I usually have a Leatherman Blast on my belt if I'm outdoors, and a beefier flashlight too, I don't like too much on my keychain.
wow this is impressive, one mine, I just use a plane wire with a clip on it. it has a Robeson screw driver, ferro rod and a striker, a small little air tight capsule with dryer sheets that are dampened with lighter fluid for starting fires very easy ly, a few small multi tools (no Leatherman yet) and that it.
Currently I have a Swiss+Tech Micro-Tech 6-in-1, a bottle opener, a Victorinox Classic SD, and my regular keys and stuff. I ordered a Photon Microlight II and a Leatherman Brewzer which will be here in a couple days. I'm going to remove the bottle opener when I get the new items. I have to take the Classic SD off most of the time since I would get suspended for having that deadly 1.5 inch blade.
i have that aircraft cable too. a leatherman micra,and biner, cc pry bars very strong saves knife tips. i highly recommend the streamlight nano [i would rather have 4-5 of them than a high lumens flashlight ] i have a spyderco (ladybug) so frigin sharp you could use it for autopsies plus it vg10 and locks high quality from japan. somethings i carry neckknife stlye. my keychain is over 40 yo made from hvy lucite can be used like a kubuton.

A SAK Farmer model, two pill fobs, one with low dose aspirin and benedryl and one with naproxsyn ans imodium, a ferro rod, a P38 can opener, a handcuff key, an S-biner to clip to my belt loop. I carry a Leatherman Wave with more kit on my left hip.
The kingston drive is almost perfect, its just missing a cover for the end. I have one of those, but Im afraid water and gunk will fill the end eventually and break it.
+RebelForce8 I've actually have one of those usb drives, and its been through alot. Its gone through several washing machines cause I left my keys in my pocket. I've even managed to get the internal component 'chip' fall out of its casing cause I abused it too much on my key ring. Little bit of super glue making sure the right side was facing up, and its still working to this day. I just love how little space it takes compared to other drives.

I've always been curious as to why every multi-tool on the market includes a bottle opener. None of them are as good as a regular keychain bottle opener and I seriously doubt anyone would whip out their leatherman bottle opener extension when they could have a regular bottle opener taking up less space and for less money.
Carry some things on a lanyard that was originally there for the smart phone. One of the things I have on there that I find most useful but rarely used is the FOX 40 whistle when you need to be heard and you need to be distinctive it is my go to. Car horns all sound the same but a whistle especially that one is something that is heard for a long distance and could be used to disorient an attacker should you be in a situation where you need a diversion. Sound light and canes all can work to take them down so lives can be saved. After that the baby swiss army knife is most used the knife has just the basics pair of scissors blade toothpick tweezers. I have a lighter and my info badge to get into the gym glued to that bar code info badge is a casio calculator watch as you know has many functions but is handy when you need a fast calculator. When I was in electronics school often I got the answer off my watch before most got to their calculator. I decided then to change the way I dealt with the calculator since in electronics you rely on it so much and I took my large calculator apart then I found a safe spot to drill a hole in it and I then put it on a lanyard that way a question was presented I was not the guy searching for a calculator I was the guy with the answer before most could find their calculator. Same for pens I use to drive trucks and haul medical grade gas. When you are handling medical grade gas if you forget to initial in places (many) you actually committed a felony. I saw countless drivers looking for their pens as they went from one stage of the process to another it breaks your concentration and is not worth a F when you are working 14 hour days every week dealing with tremendous pressure and stress. I decided to change every thing about the job. I put my pen on a badge reel that way I needed to put an entry in I did so let go went to the next task and the pen was there. I carried a backup 2 is one one is none the pen I used was the 4 color fine point bick again I used this for same reason one ink ran out I had a backup. Cryogenics we use a brass hammer, brass because you need to tap on your fittings and other areas and you are surrounded by this gas all the time that requires both hands to deal with things drivers are constantly setting down their hammer. They lose and it cost very valuable time I went to the hardware store and bought something simple a hammer loop to place my hammer in every time I used it. I got to where I was up there in timing first year on the job I was as efficient and fast as the guy that was there doing the job for 20 years. All because of organization and looking for solutions rather than bitching about the problems. My hard hat had a light on it I had a light on a lanyard I had to be out there in any weather sun baking pouring rain you name it I had to be out there and doing this work. So I had to carry things that had to be there or it interrupted the job.

Good kit. I use most of that but don't rotate unless going forest so urban kits stays the same for consistency. Squirt ps4 though for multitool as it has pliers which double as extremely precise and durable tweezers, and scissors and other tools including useable screwdrivers that are less likely to break due to being shorter.
Torch is Klarus mix6 ti which does 23 or 3 or 85 lumens. Awesome tint too and no pwm. Love it.

64gb usb that looks really similar to yours. Ya cant seem to get these ones anymore so I might get a few of your Kingston style for spare. You're right, this style of usb stick is amazingly durable and compact...perfect keychain usb stick (usb speck?)
A numyth tohil peanut lighter. I do love this but its a bit bigger and pricier. Deal Extreme has some great little peanut lighters for like $1.50 delivered. They are great.
Finally I have a few dealextreme / ebay pill boxes/capsule cannisters. These house my daily use pills and some painkillers and also another houses a AAA spare battery for the Klarus + a note on runtimes and lumens that helps stop battery rattle too. These pill capsules can be had for like $5 for five of them or $5 per for the really fancy ones.
Since the Tohil lighter and battery canister are a bit heavier they are ringed to the leatherman caribiner which is hooked to my side belt loop. A bit of ranger band around the tohil stops them clanking around and The rest is attacheded to an 8 inch cobra paracord braid which trails into my front pocket. This can reach the front door lock without needing detachments. In fact any tool can be used without detachment from the belt loop.
I like your system and it takes time and research to arrive at a useful set of tiny tools which I appreciate. It is very addictive too and 'can' get pricey! I call my setup 'The Six Million Dollar Chain' !
those mini can openers are great especially at the office during lunch time.

I use coated cables for a survival keyring I put together. They're better since the bare metal ones can fray, and you don't want to be grabbing one of those when they do. Covers the 3 absolute basics, plus a writing instrument, and a knife-based tool. Coated cable from Lowe's Hardware. Shelter is just a paracord bracelet from Wal-Mart (about 7 feet in all). Fire is the striker from a 2.0 Light My Fire Army model firesteel (and that has an integrated whistle, so it covers part of Signaling too). Though the very same striker from a Scout 2.0 model will also work. Those can be found at REI, EMS, and Dick's Sporting Goods stores. Plus a small integrated magnesium bar with flint.
Like a Doan's but far less magnesium. Has an integrated hole for attachment. Best bet is Survival Resources.com. Signaling, along with the whistle covered above, is a micro mirror (S. Resources.com again but I got mine out of a cheap SOL survival kit from Dick's). You will need to attach a tiny split-ring onto the hole at one corner of the mirror to get it to fit onto the cable. And a Inova/Nite-Ize coin-cell light with three modes. Full on, moon-mode, and low-level strobe. Navigation is covered by a Mini Comp II compass. This is the absolute best of the tiny mini compasses out there. You can even use it with a map for orienteering. Something you can't do with other mini compasses. REI has them. So does S. Resources.com.
So all the basics are covered. But a good writing instrument is still needed if you have paper and need to leave notes for any rescuers who might be trying to find you. I recommend a red mini Sharpie marker. Stubby, and already has a keychain attachment. Plus, red will stand out. Ironically, these have become much harder to find in recent years in any color, even basic black. Best bet is Home Depot or try a Google search on the internet. (Ironically, Staples does NOT carry them.)
Finally, a knife-based tool. Has to be small, but still pragmatic. At first, I chose a Gerber Dime (from Target). A useful set of tools. Plus, comes with integrated tweezers. So no need to add dedicated tweezers for tick removal. If your choice doesn't have that option, the tweezers shown in the vid, is a good one to include. Which is what I'll be doing since in the end I realized the Dime, while having a very nice set of tools for EDC purposes, had a knife too small for actual survival situations in the woods.
Replaced it with a solid locking non-Bear Grylls version of the Gerber Compact Scout II folding pocket knife. Yup, it's just like the BG in every way, except his stupid logo isn't on it. The black grip is light grey, and the orange portion of the handle is black. An excellent little thin pocket knife. I did have to put a small split-ring on it since the lanyard hole is just too small to fit over the cable. The blade is about 2.75 inches long. Short, but long enough to be useful in a survival situation if you've lost all your other cutting tools. (Got the knife at Wal-Mart.)
Top off with a carabiner clip to attach to a belt loop, and you're all set. Yes, my set-up is a bit bulky. But it covers the absolute basics of fire, shelter, Navigation/Signaling, along with a proper tool option, and a writing instrument.
I carry a firesteel on all my keychains (often a BSA Hot Spark). But I also think it's a good idea to carry some tinder to get from spark to open fame. For "slick" appearances, I've used a pill tube with some Tinder Quick tabs stuffed inside. But my current favorite is a six- to nine-inch length of common jute twine. I tie an overhand knot an inch back from each end to prevent fraying, double the string over and attach it to the ring using a lark's head. In practice, you can scrape off a pile of fluff from either end using your knife. Or you can cut off an inch or so and separate the fibers by hand. As a bonus, the twine sort of cushions the other items when in my pocket, and keeps them a little bit quieter.

problem with that usb is the actual black plastic storage thing can come loose and fall out. almost lost all my data in a parking lot that way. turned around and looked down cause i heard the faintest sound of something hit the ground. almost didn't take it with me cause i didn't realize what it was at first.

I carry a small kit on my keyring everyday. Most of the items on it can be bought at Wal-Mart or online. I have a Leatherman Squirt PS4 which has spring loaded plyers/wire cutter, a knife blade, a 2 sided file/large flathead screwdriver, a medium flathead screwdriver/bottle opener, a philips head screwdriver, and spring loaded scissors. Thnis is attached using a Nite Ize 1.5 lb S-biner; Next is an SOG knife sharpener/fire steel attavched with a lobster claw hook; next is a UST Spark Force ferrocerium rod/striker wrapped in 8 ft of 550 paracord that is looped into anothe lobsterclaw hook that also has a handcuff key on it; next is a Coghlans campi whistle that has a built in compass, thermometer and magnifying glass attached by another lobster claw hook; and lastly is a Nite Ize Bug Lite that has high, low and flash mode high intensity white LED activated by a push on/push off button and has bendable legs that can wrap around something or be formed into a stand. This is attached with another micro S-biner. It is a bit bulky for dress pants but works fine for the cargo pants I usually wear.

I've tried almost everything. Last couple years I use a P-7, with car fob key, Victorinox Cadet, and Maratac AAA light. Rest goes in my Swiss Army pack, the smallest they offer, with one strap. I got everything except the kitchen sink in that pack, works good for me. Other pockets I carry revolver, Strider, and Para2….Good vid, I enjoyed it.
I carry a no name bottle opener, a Brente bt01 (150 lumens) twist light and a SOG Key Knife. (I use this little knife a lot at work-a lot less scary looking to the sheeple). I keep it all secure to a belt loop with a Bomber & Co parachord lanyard. It has a spring-loaded clasp and a ferro rod woven into the lanyard.

Another awesome video LS. I need to pick up one of those flash drives you just showed. I like to carry a mosin nagant tool on my key ring. It has tons of uses. Mini prybar, screwdriver, and last ditch self defense weapon just to name a few.
Awesome setup. I love carrying mine. I have the tweezers, a pry bar, Sog key knife, P38, handcuff key, victorinox nail clippers, a small light, small carabiner, and a leatherman micra. I added a figure 9 which is supposed to tighten paracord. I am thinking of ditching it though.

I also carry a carabiner with a B.opener with a mini light , folding scissors, swivel bulldog clip ( to clip to any clothing or gear[ good when u got shorts with no pockets and a t-shirt on]), 3 close pins , one medium neodymium magnet( reduces noise. I can pick the keys up if i drop them in a hole or in water. I could clip it on myself also), 2 plastic twist ties ( from coffee i drink lol), mini spool of fishing line with one plastic twist tie to hold it.
Of course i have other EDC items in a pouch to support this like a knife, lighter/ F.lens, tape, compass and mirror.

I found and bought the aircraft cables on ebay after watching your video.I carry a hand cuff key on my key chain as well as the strike force fire steel but now i can add my flashlight onto my key chain once i recieve my air craft cables,thanks for the great idea.Does the cable screws ever come loose on their own ,just wondering if i will have to titen the screw now and then or not ?

I bought one of the Williams tactical keys by CRKT...looks like a giant key but is designed as a self defence weapon. Not as good as a knife but you can have it on your keyring and it just blends in. You could say it's low key!.. Designed so you can hold it with two fingers with your fist clenched, would recommend them to anyone.

Great vid, quite alot of really good options for light weight edc. I can't say i have one edc keychain but many i carry around on my person at all times, Very partial to the fenix E01, aswell as roughly 20-25 Ft of cordage for shelter or snaring needs. i carry as norm two knifes at all times negating the need of a micro multi tool.As for one of the comments below regarding your p38 can openers, simple fix might be either a small ranger band, rubber band or even a bit of cordage of your choosing.

I love the Nite Ize DoohiKey. It's probably not as good quality as the
brewzer but it has a carabiner clip for easy removal and a few more
tools. If you're willing to sacrifice a bit more pocket space for your
light, the Olight S1 Baton delivers 500 lumens in a pocket sized light
that can attach to a keychain. It's about the largest light you would
want to put on a keychain (shorter than the Foursevens Preon P1 but
fatter) and some find it too large. The Foursevens mini ML is about the
same size and delivers 216 lumens but costs less and weighs less.

I will probably pick up a Swiss Tech Utili Key (a key sized knife, mini-tool) to put with my keys, and I'm looking for a light, so I appreciate your top two. I carry separate blades. To me, a keyring is a kit, so I equip it for the items, size, weight that is appropriate. Scale the tools for the kit size, have nested, modular kits.

Today - used the swiss army knife scissors to cut out a prescription for medicine (my doctor prints it out now, and pretty much wastes the entire piece of paper). Used my flashlight to look at stuff in the basement....

A Gerber Shard on my key chain. A True Utility KeyTool overlapping one of my keys. A BCB Mini Work Tool in my wallet. All bases covered. ALWAYS carried ! The only tool that is any use is the one you have at the time. How do you uncork a wine bottle with these EDCs ? Take the foil off the top - put the base of the bottle in your shoe and bang the heel repeatedly against a wall.
None of these tools adds bulk or is noticed when carrying.
For me i got two lanyards with lots of items. Keys, car keys, Leatherman Micra, Mini Sharpies, Gerber Shard, NiteCore Tube Keychain Light (It's rechargeable by micro USB.) Energizer Wind up Carabiner light (Doesn't need batteries ever, just wind it up and you got light.) and a JetScream whistle. I also always keep a folding knife with me, a Leatherman Crater. One predominantly has my keys and a light source. The other has everything else on it. I'm female, so i have this stuff in a bag with me. I do carry other items too.

I stopped carrying a prybar as I never used it and I could not find any good stories/reasons to carry it. As I live in the people's republic of DC, I carry a Swiss Key on my key chain as well as a AAA flashlight, P-51 can opener, and a small but loud whistle. If I have a bag/briefcase, etc., I also carry a Bick lighter with duct tape, extra flashlight, extra AAA battery, and a day's worth of meds.

I have my keys on a quick release deal that's on a #4 niteize s-biner. Just sine keys,a peanut lighter,a victorinox classic and an o light i3s. Don't like a lot on actual keychain myself. Do have a couple of keychain tools from Swiss tech I keep on my person along with a Gerber shard I keep on exterior of edc bag. Used to all be on keychain but it all became to bulky. Good vid. I'm jealous! I just have a small Victorinox Swiss army knife, a $1 button-cell squeeze-light (now with on/off switch too!) for quickly finding keyholes and such, and an iTP A3 XP-G2 100 lumen AAA flashlight with low/med/high modes, much more useful than 15 lumens to me. It's nearer 200 lumens with a lithium-ion cell in it (short bursts on high mode only, it gets hot). I usually have a Leatherman Blast on my belt if I'm outdoors, and a beefier flashlight too, I don't like too much on my keychain.

wow this is impressive, one mine, I just use a plane wire with a clip on it. it has a Robeson screw driver, ferro rod and a striker, a small little air tight capsule with dryer sheets that are dampened with lighter fluid for starting fires very easy ly, a few small multi tools (no Leatherman yet) and that it.

Currently I have a Swiss+Tech Micro-Tech 6-in-1, a bottle opener, a Victorinox Classic SD, and my regular keys and stuff. I ordered a Photon Microlight II and a Leatherman Brewzer which will be here in a couple days. I'm going to remove the bottle opener when I get the new items. I have to take the Classic SD off most of the time since I would get suspended for having that deadly 1.5 inch blade.

i have that aircraft cable too. a leatherman micra,and biner, cc pry bars very strong saves knife tips. i highly recommend the streamlight nano [i would rather have 4-5 of them than a high lumens flashlight ] i have a spyderco (ladybug) so frigin sharp you could use it for autopsies plus it vg10 and locks high quality from japan. somethings i carry neckknife stlye. my keychain is over 40 yo made from hvy lucite can be used like a kubuton.

The kingston drive is almost perfect, its just missing a cover for the end. I have one of those, but Im afraid water and gunk will fill the end eventually and break it.
+RebelForce8 I've actually have one of those usb drives, and its been through alot. Its gone through several washing machines cause I left my keys in my pocket. I've even managed to get the internal component 'chip' fall out of its casing cause I abused it too much on my key ring. Little bit of super glue making sure the right side was facing up, and its still working to this day. I just love how little space it takes compared to other drives.
How about maybe a little box knot paracord key fob to give you some cordage?

I have a thermometer, bundle of paracord, compass and a little vile full of cash as well as most of the items you have
I've always been curious as to why every multi-tool on the market includes a bottle opener. None of them are as good as a regular keychain bottle opener and I seriously doubt anyone would whip out their leatherman bottle opener extension when they could have a regular bottle opener taking up less space and for less money.
Carry some things on a lanyard that was originally there for the smart phone. One of the things I have on there that I find most useful but rarely used is the FOX 40 whistle when you need to be heard and you need to be distinctive it is my go to. Car horns all sound the same but a whistle especially that one is something that is heard for a long distance and could be used to disorient an attacker should you be in a situation where you need a diversion. Sound light and canes all can work to take them down so lives can be saved.
After that the baby swiss army knife is most used the knife has just the basics pair of scissors blade toothpick tweezers. I have a lighter and my info badge to get into the gym glued to that bar code info badge is a casio calculator watch as you know has many functions but is handy when you need a fast calculator.
When I was in electronics school often I got the answer off my watch before most got to their calculator. I decided then to change the way I dealt with the calculator since in electronics you rely on it so much and I took my large calculator apart then I found a safe spot to drill a hole in it and I then put it on a lanyard that way a question was presented I was not the guy searching for a calculator I was the guy with the answer before most could find their calculator.
Same for pens I use to drive trucks and haul medical grade gas. When you are handling medical grade gas if you forget to initial in places (many) you actually committed a felony. I saw countless drivers looking for their pens as they went from one stage of the process to another it breaks your concentration and is not worth a F when you are working 14 hour days every week dealing with tremendous pressure and stress. I decided to change every thing about the job. I put my pen on a badge reel that way I needed to put an entry in I did so let go went to the next task and the pen was there. I carried a backup 2 is one one is none the pen I used was the 4 color fine point bick again I used this for same reason one ink ran out I had a backup.
Cryogenics we use a brass hammer, brass because you need to tap on your fittings and other areas and you are surrounded by this gas all the time that requires both hands to deal with things drivers are constantly setting down their hammer. They lose and it cost very valuable time I went to the hardware store and bought something simple a hammer loop to place my hammer in every time I used it. I got to where I was up there in timing first year on the job I was as efficient and fast as the guy that was there doing the job for 20 years. All because of organization and looking for solutions rather than bitching about the problems.
My hard hat had a light on it I had a light on a lanyard I had to be out there in any weather sun baking pouring rain you name it I had to be out there and doing this work. So I had to carry things that had to be there or it interrupted the job.
A miniature survival kit (including button compass).

you are missing a lighter, True Utility makes a keychain one, they also make a expandable pen. Both super useful.
