    Is it weird that I already have all this in my survival kits? Excellent items for sure!

      Thank you. That's nice, that you have all of this stuff inside your survival kit. It's been a while that I made this video, but some of the items are somehow still up to date. 🙂

    I like your selection of gear. Some I had not seen before like the flashlight. Nice job on the video! Like the music!

    Nice little kit. Thanks for the links to the components. I love that little crank light and have never seen one before. I'm now gonna order a couple to put in my get-home-bag, and on my carabiner kit. Peace.

      Yes.. It is perfect to put in a get home bag. Please share if you have made one. I am curious. :-)

    I would suggest adding a p-38 or p-51 style can opener along with the rest. Some of your tools might work to open a can, but either of those are very good for it, and dirt cheap.

      I just watched a video about them. Very powerful! Thank you for the tip.

    I have a waterproof pill carrier, u can put petroleum soaked cotton balls &/ or twine..anything that will hold a small flame 4 tinder..I wrapped about 3-4' of duct tape around it. U can always find a use 4 it & u can wrap some around ur lighter. Good luck.

    This is one of the best setup that I saw so far but to add even more functionality my recommendation would be a Tupperware Stuffables Container Keychain Pill Container.

      That is a good suggestion. Thank you. I can imagine that you could put water purifying tablets inside..

    What was the type of keyring you had? The 1 with the 5 keys 'screwed' onto it? Do you know if it's sold in the USA? Very cool idea!

    I would replace the true utility pliers with a Leatherman Squirt Ps4, smaller and much more functionality. Torch is a good idea, love the pen. I don't see the point in a compass unless travelling at night, it's nice but takes up a lot of room. The Squirt could also replace the Victorinox if you don't mind a smaller knife.

      Yeah leatherman squirt ps4 is awesome

      I have found my perfect edc setup is a Leatherman Juice S2, the sheathe is brilliant, you forget it's even there, and I use an omega key for my keychain. Keychains have always bothered me, too noisy, too bulky and really awkward, but now I have all my pockets completely free barring the omega key which takes up practially no room. I also carry a thrunite for obviously light and self defence, the keys also work for self defence, works perfectly. I've never come across a situation that I can't handle with all that. Sorry for the essay.

    i can recommend my victorinox ct41 for replacing many of the items. but it can not replace compass, light, fire.

    • @VisualHiker
      @VisualHiker  9 років тому

      I like the Victornox CT41. It does have a lot of tools that are on this keychain in one product. But it is not that cheap. I checked online and it was around 100 euro.

    @TheCreationer: Which of the tools are you referring to? I had no problem with any of them breaking. Some of them, like the fires hash will get a bit damaged on the outside and the coating will lose its shine.

      I am talking about the multitool with the pliers. I was really awkward and cheaply made. It broke when I was using the pliers for a simple job.

    • @VisualHiker
      @VisualHiker  10 років тому

      I didn't like these pliers as well. Replaced them with Leatherman Style PS.

    Personally I'd get rid of the keytool as the other tools do the same jobs a lot better.

    Try to checkout on the webshop on the True Utility website. You can select USA.
    www.trueutility.com/pocket-tools-store/true-utility-tu45-keyring-system.html
    I also see that the dealer page has some information: www.trueutility.com/pocket-tools-store/true-utility-find-dealer.html#america
    Now I'm starting to sound like a sales person from True Utility, which I'm not. :-)
