Nice. Just wondering how is HQ's color matching quality
Bro, I'm in Texas tambien! We can do a collab!
How you do cover up the glass with the plastic instead of paper
great video...i have seem u use auto bahn paint have u used the ebony black ..?..is it really dark black ..?....and have u used high teck paint in ebony black aswell ,?...thanks
Looks great! Just purchased a gallon of Autobahn Victory Red to respray my 95 GMC Sierra. $110 with free shipping! Can’t beat it!
Why don't you cover the tail pipe and chrome steps?
Great job😀 Cheers from Vancouver 🇨🇦
Another killer paint job in the GT Performance book. Standing by for the next one sir.
A bro I'm happy to see you doing good you came a long way bro from where you started I started watching you like 10 years ago dude keep up the good work
What grio did you send with
Another awesome paint job and video. ✌🏻🤘🏽✊🏾
I just checked the price. $350 for paint and clear. That’s pretty good. I would just need to buy a paint gun and compressor. And hose and primer and sand paper and filler. Jaaa maybe I should just pay someone since I don’t have a paint booth. But then I won’t be able to tell people I painted it. Jaaa
Im sorry man..suffering from extrasmallis tictacdic must be so hard for you..
Very good job
Great work bro 💪🏻
I used to paint and do bodywork for a living. Now I just do it for myself. But I tell you what maybe some day we can do a couple of Vlog together my friend. I have seen your channel for a long time you are in providing every vlog!!!
I started braking the areas down on truck on the last three I've done it makes it easier on me and I don't have to be concerned about getting me or the hose on any of the edges of the door tops or fenders, I hate dragging a ladder around a vehicle just to be able to reach.
That's a big boy paint job right there! Nice job brother !!! As always 👍😉
Nice work
Very nice brother. I been following you for a while and am a neighbor to you. Really enjoy your vids. I would like to see if you could paint my old f-150. Needs some body work but man, your work is really good. Hope to speak to you soon.
Thanks man . Slick
Wow! That covered quick. Looks like you probably could have gotten away with just 2 coats. PPG isn’t anywhere near that strong. At least from what I remember. It’s been awhile since I’ve sprayed a car. Nice job.
Nice job. Are you painting the running boards and tail pipe?
That truck looks freaking nice GT. How’s about some before and after so we can see the change/transformation.
Once the truck is complete, I'll upload a full build transformation video. 💪
@@GTsPerformance how much paint do you need to paint a whole car?
Nice job what would you charge to repaint same truck no jams and same color is white now just want a fresh white paint job
I hope I can pull something like this off. Looks like you put coats of clear. I’ll be painting a vw bug so I will need less paint.
How well does it match OEM? My paint supplier swore up and down theirs was a 99% match but it's so bad I'm embarrassed to drive it. So I'm looking for another brand.
Never said how many coats of clear coat u put on
Why no more rustoleum paint jobs?
Do you wash your projects before the sanding starts; if so; what do you use? Wanted to know about removing grease from underside of the hood.
When I paint cars I usually wash them with some dawn dishsoap and a grey scuff pad or use a prep clean paste. Either are very good at removing oils and dirt and preventing fisheyes in your paint
my man, how do you get all the trash out of the paint afterwards? I'm not saying there is trash in the paint, just wondering how you get the bumps out? thanks for the videos man i appreciate it.
So you added 5 coats of clear? 3 coats, sand with k800 and two more coats clear?
3 max at a time. If you end up with bad orange peel, block with 600-800, and flow coat.
So what's the reasoning for painting different sections at a time. I like that idea more than painting the whole car at a time. I'm just curious
This was a big truck to do all at once and I didn't want overspray landing on what I just sprayed. Especially without a paint booth. Also leaves less room for mistakes to happen.
Another thing, since this was a solid color paint, everything would match no matter which way I painted. If it were candy, it would be different.
What type of gun do you use and pressure setting?
Great video, thanks. Repainting 99 Silverado with same color this spring. Very little bodywork needed .
How long do you wait between coats?
Also, is there an advantage to doing it in sections as opposed to all at once?
How much base coat did the truck take
how many hours did you have in the prep of the hood and roof ?
What Texas city are you in? What do you charge for single stage paint jobs. I'm in El Paso. Love your work and videos have a 59 amc rambler I will need painted this summer
Would I just need 1 gallon of paint for a single cab truck ?
Yes!
If it's basecoat + clear, it comes with a gallon of reducer, so you have 2 full gallons of paint.. plus 5 quarts of clear.
I've done several single cabs with 1 paint kit, painted them inside and out, and still have paint left.
A single stage paint will usually give you 1 ½ gallons total.
@@GTsPerformance oh okay thank you mad and how much psi do I spray base and clear coat at ? And
Two gallons or more to paint that truck ?
1 gallon paint kit!
The kit comes with a gallon of base and a gallon of reducer, which after mixed makes 2 gallons of base.
Spray as much as you like
where at in texas are you located i would love for you to do the body work on my truck im in dallas
I'm down in the Rio Grande Valley
Long live your hand, a tidy job. I am from Iraq. I would like to work in another country because I have a little job, and I have experience working in car paint. If you want to communicate, I come to you. I am 22 years old. Thank you. Greetings to you
Thoughts on the base coat ?
??
Bro I was going to ask you. My truck SUV is white and I want to paint it a blue color. Is it easier and cheaper to do same white color it came with. Or go for the blue I always wanted. I'm saying If I ever do get the money. I want like a blue with black theme.
Changing the color is a lot more labor. If you change color you have to do the door jams, inside the trunk, under the hood, big job ! White is the cheapest paint to buy usually, and it hides imperfections the most. Color change is like double the labor time. I Hope that helps you, go for it brother. 👍😉
@@michaelbristol6467 ... Well if I ever get the money I will change the color. Thanks
Yeah definitely
Dude that’s a Sata 3000
It’s call a drop coat that’s what I was told. I do that with every car I do . Pull more back young cat . Lei it drop on there
Also called control coat or orientation coat. Lol
👍
