    Thank you for sharing this information. I have a background in media and I slow travel as well, so I have considered the possibility of making UA-cam videos. The truth is I like my beer, I like my wine, and rather than record everything for posterity I choose to destroy the evidence. At least that's what my Dad taught me to do when we were sitting in the pub with half a dozen empty pint glasses in front of us! I can tell you why I follow your adventures though - I appreciate the emphasis on travel, on food, on drink and also the cost of everything. Basically though I'm here because you seem like really nice people. Cheers and good luck with your future travels.

    Love you guys! You're killing it and you come across with an authenticity that is lacking in so many other "more showy" videos. It's lovely that you take viewer comments to heart, but no need to apologize!, you guys are great. I hope you guys never get "too slick" because I'm loving the reality and truthfulness that comes through your videos. I read the book Home Sweet Anywhere a few years back and it made perfect sense - that world travel is often waaaaay less expensive than simply "existing" and paying rent/mortgage in the U.S., and now here you two are, doing it! WooHoo. Love it.

    I just discovered your channel last week and have been bingeing your content ever since. I love how real and accessible you are. Just two normal people on a budget, trying to make the most of their lives. It’s a welcome change from many travel influencers out there who seem to have unlimited funds, which makes the experiences they share unattainable to most of their viewers. I was so excited to see that you had made a video explaining the mechanics of how you blog. Thank you so much for sharing your process! I wonder what you resources YOU have found the most helpful on your journey as full-time travelers and vloggers. Thanks again for your informative and entertaining content! This is by far the best video I have watched about vlogging and you tubing. I initially thought about starting a channel in 2018/2019 but didn't have the courage to do so, and then Covid..... My wife and I are blessed to have been able to travel, and as we approach retirement, want to continue to travel as much as possible. We are currently up to 13 countries. I really appreciate your insights and explanations. We don't want to do the 20-something influencer content as that doesn't seem real. Like you both, we do a lot of research prior to and during travel. That is one of the main reasons I have wanted to start a channel. We want to provide insight and practical information to viewers about how we do what we do. I currently have an HP Pavillion X360 and a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra that we use as our camera/video set. I have realized that I have not been getting the correct type of content in our previous travels. I am currently using a borrowed GoPro 7 and DJI Pocket 2 but plan to purchase a Hero 11 and am anxiously awaiting the Pocket 3 release. Thank you so much for being down-to-earth and inspirational! I hope to be posting soon and you have definitely provided the boost I need to do more than just Google, Trip Advisor, and Expedia reviews.

As a native English speaker with Eastern Europe travel on my mind as well as other countries, I have wondered what the challenge level would be but it's not something that I have been able to easily find on the vast amounts of travel videos out there. Great video. Thanks for the content. We've traveled a lot but have neglected to get the right content. Of course, we werent being intentional about creating that style at the time. We've watched a ton of your content, but its on the TV where comments are possible, so have to throw them out when on computer. We went to watch your very first video. Awesome improvements in a short time since. We needed that inspiration. We are on take number 4 of video #1. "Just push record" is not a good plan. Over-scripting isnt a good plan. Bullet points is the way to go. Appreciate the snippet that you included here that showed this method. We've learned a lot about locations from you guys. We've been travel agents for many years, and travel ourselves. We've added some great new places to visit from your content. Again, thank you guys so much for the content.

      It's a learning process for sure, but I guarantee with time it gets easier. Finding the style that works for you is key. We need bullet points just to know we havent skipped anything important, plus it gives us focus. Thanks so much for watching 😊

      Great question!! We only do 1 video a week for two reasons. First, we want to enjoy our travels without always shooting videos and, the second reason is that we want to do our best on each one. We don't believe we can do our best travel-style video by doing 2 or 3 a week. We are getting better and find that we are having more time. Thank you for the question and for watching our channel.

Otherwise, I use Peak Design straps, the same Rhode mics, etc. We use cell phone stabilisers a lot. They are small , cheap and phones have great video. Awesome! I might even get an assist in the box score on this video. 😅 Thanks so much for sharing all this info and the process that you use to create all your videos. Like you Brian, I am also anxiously awaiting the release of the DJI Pocket 3. I hope DJI doesn't screw it up (like they did with the Osmo Action 2), but if they do I'll be getting the Pocket 2. I have a GoPro Hero 9 and thought about upgrading to the 10 or 11, but the Pocket 2 is so much better in low light situations. Thanks again, and keep 'em coming! Cheers! 🍻

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  2 роки тому +1

      You absolutely get an assist on this video! I was sold on the Osmo Action 2 until the focus problems started coming out. I do like the low light ability of the Pocket 2 and the audio is much better as well. I just wish it was waterproof. Maybe the Pocket 3 will be, I just hope it is released sooner rather than later.

    • @oldachyrunner
      @oldachyrunner 2 роки тому

      @@BrianandCarrie Did you mean the Osmo Action 3? The original Osmo Action was a really nice challenger to GoPro, then they came out with the Action 2 which was that ridiculous modular design. I had high hopes for the Action 3 when I saw they returned the design to the original Action, but yes focusing was an issue and I thought my Hero 9 had at least as good or better overall video quality. I'm just hoping DJI doesn't make the Pocket 3 some kind of funky design trying to incorporate the failed modular Action 2. Please DJI, keep the Pocket 2 design and just give us a larger sensor, removable battery, built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi without having to get the Do It All handle, and yes, at least water resistant (for rain) or hopefully waterproof. Fingers crossed!
      And if this video underperforms, you can change my assist in the box score to an error. 😅 Cheers! 🍻

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, Osmo Action 3 is what I meant. I just wish the audio was better on the action cameras.

    Hi Brian and Carrie, wow, this is an excellent video and well-timed! We just completed a week in Romania (completely inspired by your travel videos) and another week in Oman (really great). I was home in Miami today with some rare downtime and sorting through way too many photos and video content ( I have a Canon EOs 90D and iPhone XR) and want to try making my first videos. The task seems a bit daunting at the moment. I was going to email you with questions about what software you use to edit and produce the UA-cam videos that we love to watch, and then I noticed this video. Excellent! Can't wait for the next videos. Ken and Vanessa

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  Рік тому +1

      Very nice! Hopefully, you enjoyed Romania as much as we did. UA-cam doesn't have to be daunting if you already know how your camera works. We had such a learning curve when we started that it just took a little longer. You can start out using a basic video editor that you probably already have installed on your computer. After learning the basics you can start adding other elements. The key is to just get started, your first video does not have to be good, it just can't be bad. Have fun and thank you for watching!!

    Your down to earth approach is so appreciated. We live p/t in Europe and p/t in the USA and would love to do a UA-cam channel just as a way to record our travels. A personal question - but - just wondering can this be considered a way to earn a modest living, or is it more about all the other rewards - and the hours put in far exceed any monetary compensation you receive? I still dont really understand exactly how UA-camrs are paid? Or even IF they are? Happy travels! Linda

    Thanks so much for the video about the gear you use. I now understand how vital stabilization is and how a gimbal can be a pain in the ass. I cannot decide between buying a Canon M50 and the Sony ZV-E10. As much as I like the Sony, I think I will go with the Canon for ease of use and the lower price. As for filming in markets and crowded places, I agree with you and am going for the DJI. The gimbal stabilization it has is a big plus.
    I am looking forward to the Southeast Asia videos, but in the meantime, if you feel the urge to make a video, it would be nice to see what it is like in your hometown.

    This is awesome. I have two quick questions just for curiosity. Do you capture many short clips and merge them or longer recordings then cut out clips. Second question is about music, I notice when you have a scene change the music immediate change to suit the new scene, like magic. How is that done? Thanks 🙂

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  Рік тому +1

      We do both long clips and short clips, but we usually cut down all clips. For the music, we use Epidemic Sound and pull files over to our editing program and just fit them in where they fit the best. Hopefully, that makes sense. Thank you for the questions and for watching our channel.

    First! Please do try to find some time for getting semi retirement in there too. At least you’ve got your casting side of your productions down pat.
    Yeah, I’ve been in some media centers with some larger name, worldwide traveling, UA-camrs, and again they have dedicated large teams, and editing staff back at a homebase. Takes a lot of work. I’ve been parts of some productions as well as my wife. What I find is when I am writing and directing a video. I try to get as many nuanced shots that I can slide and slide out and slide around the timeline. But I’m usually doing semi scripted stuff.

      @@BrianandCarrie I’ve reached acceptance with the current acting casting situation😂 really any suggestions would just be nitpicking at this point. You guys are knocking it out of the park. I personally and in particular love the expense, reviews dollar for dollar and all the surrounding elements of that from currency exchange to budgeting dining out versus eating in. If there are any events near you, live streams of those or even live streams of subscribers/Patreon‘s live chats are usually what people throw into the mix at some point as well. This video is very well executed and I learned a lot from it. I watch a lot of content creation straegy and technique, in order to understand what to do.
      There's so many insights in this. I hope there's a follow on edition of this video.
      Interesting that you knew at the time that the views on this would be moderate. Though, some of that may be due to the algorithim showing the videos to the interests of your current audience. However, the algorithm did show it to me, and that suggests if there was more content in this vein, there might be a parallal audience.
      For example, I am going to now watch a couple of the travel videos, even though I am not interested in areas you've visitied. I want to see how your produce them.
      What brought me to your channel was the medical tourism video and now I'm looking for all the content as to how you go about what you do. Creator techniques (this video;) how you pack. I've subscribed hopijng there is more to come.
      My point is that the algorithm might show your channel to a new interest set. You never know the overlap. In my case, medical tourism + carry on and travel strategy + video creation strategy and methods.

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  Рік тому

      Hi, Logan. Correct, however, the stabilization on the higher-end cell phones is getting a lot better as well. Audio is the biggest issue on cell phones and action cameras.
