    This newer version of Demitra's recipe is much easier to do than the earlier versions using a sheet pan. Her spanikopita recipe is so yummy delicious and easy to prepare. I have made this numerous times and the family just can't get enough of it! I do make this often!

    Bravo Dimitra! This recipe is a cracker. I added 300g of ricotta, 250g of cream cheese and 150g feta and the rest exactly as prescribed. I used one packet of Antoniou pastry (Australian brand) and made about 15 tiropitakia with the leftover mix. Perfect 🥰
    It tasted and looked amazing. Will definitely do it again. Thank you for sharing your recipes and making our wonderful cuisine accessible to the world. 😁 😁

    Wow Dimitra! I’ve never been to Greece 😢 It’s one of dream places to go to since I was very young. Maybe one day. Just want to let you know that I love Greek food. I love the way you explain your recipes. I’ve made your spanakopita two times and it came out delicious. I’m going to make your tzatziki sauce very soon.

      Yes, fresh is best but I always have dried dill in my pantry so I end up using that. Dried dill still has lots of flavor :)

    This looks great. If I were to make a half-sized version of this using half the amounts in a smaller dish, would the cooking time still be 45-60 mins @ Gas4? Or less?

    Two ways to achieve spinach pie:. Allie Lewis of the old Everyday Food series placed the filling into a springform pan then topped it with phyllo cut in ribbons. The second way is Austrian influenced---making a savory strudel.

    Hi dimitri. Can I freeze spanikopita filling and use at a later date?

      It's best to use it right away but it can be frozen. Keep in mind that it'll end up releasing lost of moisture when thawed.

    "For whenever I need it"-- EVERY DAY!
    There's a local market chain and the one that's only 1/2 from me sells it....$3 for one that's about 1/2 lb! (Tube rolled into a snail shell shape).
    I treat myself to it every few weeks. And I buy 2. And usually eat a whole one 😋
