At the fourth year with them, when you click the Send button, it redirects to a page asking for a base payment of $25. Click on the $25 number and you will be able to modify it to 0 or other amount, and this way you can send everything for $0. I have to say it's not a perfect software, my govt did correct and gave me back significantly more than the software result.
@@AbdullahiAhmed-sv6is The site is definitely tricking us. Myself I had already printed it on paper ready to send by mail when another UA-camr pointed to how to change the amount down to $0
they've already fixed this bug, if you change the amount to zero as soon as you click send it takes you back to the payment page and forces you to go through everything again. it won't submit to the CRA without the minimum payment. this sucks, after spending an hour on this i will have to file my return by mail now. it's a very dirty trick because at the beginning when i started my return it said we could file for free, and then right before you try to submit to CRA it takes you back to the beginning of the return unless you give a credit card payment. If they had just been honest and said the efile service isn't free anymore i wouldn't have wasted my time
@@leevanwesterborg7805 it is free...I did exactly what @Peppermint1 said and it went through and I got instant notification from the CRA that it was received. It's donation based which means you can put $0 too if you want
omg thanks a lot sir! I'm an international student who abruptly be reminded I may be responsible for filing my taxes, for the first time and only have myself to rely! when I just came here from a totally different country and haven't touched anything about taxes before. And because I'm all the way busy for my final term till this just week before deadline, your video just helped me out so much.🤩
I am a newcomer from Ukraine. My first time filed taxes in Canada! Made it by myself! I am very proud! ehehe Thank you so much! Loved Wealthsimple and your video! You are the best!
Hi Griffin, great video. As a newcomer in Canada this video was helpful. I would really appreciate if you helped me understand the following 2 things: where do i input gig (uber) earnings and where to input TFSA Stock investment? Thanks
TFSA stock investments don't need to be reported on your tax return the same as returns in a taxable account. And your uber earnings would be personal business income (T2125 form)
Hello, can you please advise how shall I submit my annual tax file if I lived in Canada only 15 days then moved back to home country? Currently, I am PR card holder. During my stay in Canada, I did not receive any governmental benefits, insurance and etc. We lived on Airbnb. Looking forward your precious advice. Thank you in advance!
Hello @Griffin Milks, thanks for the video, it was very informative. I have filled my tax for the first time, I filled for 2023. I am not able to create my CRA account because i need to - Enter line 15000 from your 2023 income tax and benefit return in the 'Tax information' section while trying to register for my CRA. How can I get my NOA, thank you.
What if I already have a wealth simple account for investments and RESP, but I also worked different jobs. Do you file the other jobs separately and the investments on wealthsimple separately?
Your FHSA provider should give you a specific tax form. www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/first-home-savings-account/reporting-fhsa-activities-income-benefit-return.html
Is it possible to file taxes in this program without access to a CRA account? When I fill in all the information, it turns out that I have automatically filed taxes, did I understand correctly? Thank you
@@GriffinMilks as a newcomer I guess I know what Olga means. You make PDF file on Wealthsimple and then you have to send printed version physically to CRA. Before that sign it with a pen :) Only when CRA recieves it we will get the digital signature (netfile) Please le me know if I am wrong. Thank you one more time!
Hi.. If I try to file on my own through one of the supported softwares and somehow not able to do it, can I still go ahead and get it done by a professional or I need to mandatorily complete it on software itself?
Hey I have filed my taxes but now It says t1 return requires additional processing time. it will be completed as soon as possible When can I expect and what is the reason for the delay ?
I reached canada on Jan 11th, 2024, currently over with my first semester at Ontario Tech University, as an International Graduate Student, can I apply for tax refund if I paid my residence fee and tuition fee with my international credit card?
You'll be able to claim your Tuition fees paid to Ontario Tech, as a tax credit, in 2024 tax year. So when you file in 2025. If you worked in 2024, then you can get up to 15% of the Tuition fees back from the income tax you paid on your paycheque. if you didn't work, the amount will roll into next year.
Hello, thanks for your valuable video. I got a question though, What should I do if I worked in Ontario for 3 months and I moved Afterwards to Quebec, in which I have been working and living to this day. What should I do in this case, fill all the T4 for both provinces? Thank you
You can do 2 returns for free. Don't know if it's lifetime or annually. I did 2022 & 2023 for free using wealthsimple the first time this tax season. I think UFile is $35 last I checked so $25 really isn't that bad.
@@GriffinMilksOk...now I see what you mean. You can erase the suggested $25 and put in the amount you want to donate which INCLUDES $0 if you want. The system was so easy and amazing that I actually wanted to donate something because of the ease of use but I truly am broke so I put it at $ 0. Also, @griffinMilks fellow Quebecor here (living in AB now)...you're videos are awesome.
yes it is...at the end when you're about to submit it says $25 but you can delete that and put $0 if that's what you want to pay. When you select basic in the beginning it's based on donation so you can pay what you want including $0

Hey Grifin, If wife and husband both are working and have a kid, but all the expenses are taken care by husband, does wife has to add dependents too?
Does wife and husband share the account the payment is withdrawn from ?

Unless you made income, I doubt you'' have to file any type of return. Call CRA and ask!
Hey thanks for this great video may i know please how can we can our moving expense I moved from qc to ontario
My only question is, as a person on a work permit, what is my residential status knowing that was here for 7 months in 2023?
First time CRA registration is the BIGGEST problem and no one is providing solutions !!!

Hi, Griffin! In my situation , Do I need to declare my kids in dependants section even if they are not here in Canada? Merci
I'm actually not 100% sure on that one. I would try to look online if I were you. Thanks for watching and best of luck!

I’m having this issue right now, what should I do ??
If person work with Uber or insta cart how he/she can file tax return for that
Personal business income - T2125 Form generally
Is there a section where I can fill FHSA contribution amount?
Yes, there should be as it's a new registered account and contributions will count towards reducing taxable income.
Hey,
Where can we put our rental expenses?? As we are living in shared house, so we paid our rent via interac.
You don't get to use rental expenses for where you live for a tax deduction.
Welt simple does not allow non resident people to file anymore ... sucks. Back to Ufile I guess.

Highly doubt it

You have to submit or update it with the CRA directly.
