The YJ springs on my samurai were roached when I got it because the dude removed a spring and it just sat at a weird angle so it leaned in the back. The springs looked new, and still have the paint and part numbers in them. I just bought a whole lift kit from rough country and now it sits up like it should.

Leaf springs live a hard life since they locate the axle and support the weight. I was thinking I would just skip the experiments go get new springs

The BDS spring is an excellent spring on these YJ’s. The springs will settle a bit and work better with time. No need to pull the lower bottom leaf.

Bds is excellent ive been running 5" leafs for many years. I cut my military wraps off they told me it wont void warranty. More flex with them cut off.

I could see how that might help. Since mine is still shackle front orientation, I'm going to keep the military wrap for strength purposes. 💪🏻

How do I know what size of leaf springs to get ? Meaning you shared yours are 3.5”. ? By removing the ones I have would it tell me the size ? Sorry i’m new to all this. Thanks in advance, great videos!

You have to know the size of the ones you have to replace them accurately. Otherwise, you can do the research and find out what size lift spring you need for the tire size that you want to run.
