Haha cheers Adam. It’s a great walk, my fave to date and sure I’ll do it again too. Hope the video gives you a good idea of what it’s really like as honest throughout.
Yesterday I got to the Lion Inn at Blakey Ridge - 2 days to go. Brilliant walk (although my feet have suffered badly - no giving up now). Great video - looking forward to the rest of the walk.
Aah brilliant well done. That’s a brutal section to Blakey Ridge and for me was the hardest day. It’s a long slog isn’t it! Did you get the driving rain and strong wind too up there? I pitched my tent near the benches outside the front. Best of luck with the rest of your walk. If you haven’t got there already head to Intake Farm it’s a great place to stay and cheap.
@@krisgleave had the rain on the journey through the Lakes and through to Kirkby Stephen. Tomorrow should be our last day. Doing the trip as a "slackpacker" - leader, hotels and bus transfers between start/finish points.
Aah you’re still doing the journey though. I hope your weather improves tomorrow. Remember to grab yourself a pint at Wainwrights bar at the end. Well done and keep plodding.
Thanks Andrew. I know, so lucky with the weather. It’s well worth doing and I may do it again next year. Although whoever we I do it I know the conditions will be worse and can imagine it’s far more difficult in poor conditions. It’s a great route.
Thank me Daz I appreciate that. I manually plotted the wrong on OS MAPS from the Coast to coast A-Z and saved it as one full route and transferred in to my Garmin Fenix 6X Pro watch. I did take the A-Z and only looked at it at night in my tent to see what I’d achieved. The whole route I used my watch and it was perfect
@@dazwalkingman yes really highly I use it literally for every hike. Always plot my routes on is maps and transfer to it. Battery lasts for ages. The X is the biggest size. They’re on offer on Very at the moment super cheap £329
@@dazwalkingman if you get a Garmin watch you should also buy and install talkytoaster maps. Google it. It’s about £13 one off and we’ll worth it. Adds contours and other things to the existing map and needed.
Great video. I had exactly the same issue with the atom pack rubbing against my neck, I cannot recommend Waymark packs highly enough - the shoulder straps are super comfortable, just a shame about the import costs
Hey Nick hope you’re well. The pack was perfect after the first couple of days and used it lots since and literally so comfy. I just think I wasn’t used to the pack and the weight and the walk at first but after a couple of days it was great. I really rate the pack and it’s super comfortable. Guess I just needed a day or two to break it in haha. Yeah import costs suck. Although I’ve just got the Durston X-Mid 1P Solid from eBay US. Managed to send to a friend in Vegas who shipped it to me. Significantly cheaper 😉
I just admit I liked going back over the footage as brings it all back. Glad I got around to doing them now after deciding to leave it. Yeah Dent is a good climb through that woodland too. It’s further than you think too from St.Bees as in most videos people are there in the first 30s haha
@@krisgleave I know its a good 14 miles to ennerdale Bridge about 16 for me with my walk bys 🤣 I still look back at my past hikes brings back great memories that will be there for ever something for your kids and grandkids to look back on when we're long gone 😁
Exactly the reason I posted, for the memories. Yeah it’s a long way for sure but such a lovely walk especially with the weather. Wouldn’t have fancied that weather on Haystacks you had 😏
Cheers Chris I appreciate that. In the video I meant it’s the statue on the walk everyone highlights on the Coast to Coast route. Wainwright was also a guy who didn’t even bother with a rain jacket and never wanted to carry a bag either haha. Just read his autobiography it’s a good read. Also yes the weather was awesome for 95% I was really lucky.
Hi Kris. When you said your bag was about 11KG, Is that with or without water? I’m starting it at the end of the month andtrying to organise my bag. Mine is roughly 13kg with 2 litres of water.
Hi Mark, that will be weight without water I think or maybe 0.6L can’t really remember. I don’t count water weight as don’t really carry it as I have a filter. So I tend to top up and drink when I see a water source. I often just carry 0.6L in a bottle with electrolytes and drink as I go. Your weight sounds fine. Honestly the best thing is don’t worry about weight so much. Have a local walk with all your bag packed and see how it feels. Obviously the less weight the easier it’ll be on you. Definitely take a water filter as always points to top up so you don’t need to carry as much then.
Maybe next time if they’re not for you then there are plenty of other videos out there but not really a need for the negative comment and criticism but each to their own. #BeKind
🎉AMAZING Kris so inspiring. Another great watch, thank Lesley
Cheers Lesley I appreciate that. Back then this was such a tough hike but honestly it was the best experience I’ll never forget it.
Great video mate! Preparing for my attempt in may! Looking forward to watching rest of the series! Yessiiii

An awesome adventure. Tough…but well worth it. This is still my favourite long distance hike to date.
Great video Kris! Looks like you had beautiful weather for it! I sure would like to give this walk a go some day! 🌞

I camped at Emmerdale water on the C2C, loved it, apart from the midges!
Yes they’re a nightmare aren’t they. Also I’ve recently watched your coast to coast too and enjoyed the videos brought back memories for me too.

Thank you. It’s well worth doing if you get the opportunity next year.
Sweet that mate

What form of navigation did you use on your walk mate fantastic vlogs all of them
