  • Comparing two workhorse acoustics with history. The Gibson J45 and the Martin 00018 have been around for decades and seen on stage, in the studio, and on front porches of pickers all over the goshdang world. The J45 is a Slope Shouldered Dreadnought with a Sitka Spruce Top, Mahogany Back and Sides, and a short scale length. The 00018 is an Auditorium size with a Sitka Spruce Top, Mahogany back and sides, and a short scale.
The key difference between these two is the body shape/size.
Both guitars are 2020 production. As always, I'm not trying to prove any points, I'm just a nerd and I think this stuff is fun.
    How do they stack up?
Recorded with Shure KSM32, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Logic Pro, no additional processing.
