- This is the Omni One VR Omni-Directional treadmill by Virtuix which was used in the Ready Player One Movie. It supports standalone Pico content and best PC VR games through Meta Quest 3 and Bigscreen Beyond letting you play Roblox, Pavlov, Arizona Sunshine 2, VRChat, Bonelab and many others.

Here's an exclusive sneak peek at the Omni One, an upcoming VR treadmill that launches in 2024.
That looks so amazing!
No support for the 2 main vr platforms... psvr2
What a miss
The Omni company has been evolving the treadmill for so many years now. Kudos to them for keeping with it!
No Quest support is HUUUUGE L. I even decide not to buy it because of that. And told that Quest is closed - strange when we know that KatVR + Nexus work with standalone Quest games.
Neat product, shame it only supports people up to 6.4 inches tall.
Wait - 6.4 FEET! FEET He just made a verbal typo - no biggie
We need that treadmill floor to be even bigger so no one worries about longer strides
Funny i keep reading that but having tried a bunch of these never seen anyone take some weird long step. Just doesn't happen. I mean... you can run... so what Monty Python walk are you doing. Lol
@@laartwork its cuz you're short. 🤓
I'm with you, just a hair skeptical about the size. It seems neat though.
6:00 - "It's good to know that it can be adjusted in height supporting someone that is up to 6.4 inches" - Wow - Quite the niche market! :p
Wow the future of VR is looking good
Honestly, that looks terrible compared to the Katwalk C2. Katwalk has full Steam VR support, has a seat, has haptics and looks much sturdier than this since the backplate is made of metal and not plastic, plus only 900.00...Seriously, no Steam support and just in house games is lame...
@@kthanks8240well pico is dead now what?
kat walk looks horrible, have you ever seen anyone trying to walk it normally? really stiff and hard movements
I don't get your comment, they are clearly going to support Steam VR, they just don't have it ready at the time of the video.
Steam VR compatibility is coming at the end of the year for Omni One.
They will also have native games developed SPECIFICALLY for Omni One which Kat doesn't have.
Native games will run MUCH better than games ran with an emulator.
An Omni directional VR treadmill for the VR games, huh? An ready player one type, right? Cooler than ever before! One question is when will it be available to the public? I’m stoked! 😊
I think pre-orders start around the years end for US customers
Wow that nice I really enjoyed watching your videos your away make my day 😂😂😂😊😮
as someone who owned a omni the software and support for it was god awful. I simply don't trust this company to support their product
Whatever happened to Infinadeck? Would rather throw money at what they are building. This virtuix omni looks nice... but a bit sad they are running outdated hardware (Pico) and don't have their software up-to-date working with PCVR.
First
Edit:vid looks sick
Based on Your Katwalk review and Katwalk new software this looks like Kat is in the lead with a system that's already out and works with all headsets. Still I really like the backpack system on this.
Seems like a more expensive Kat Walk treadmill.
Wow the future hopefully playstation makes or adds support for treadmills in the future for psvr2.
4:50 - Sadly no for now.
@@paulct91 yeah I watched the full video.
Wow! I am just amazed at how fast technology is improving. The ready player fiction is about to become a reality. The future is now
If only we didn’t have the dystopian climate coming our way fast 💀
Great first look. I’m not a treadmill fan though. Happy for those that are.
Seems to me that there has to be a better way to make one. Even being super slick that the surface of the treadmill will wear out.
So, can you not just buy a new surface topper?
@@paulct91 I guess they can make that way. It seems to me that one made using rollerballs would be easier and better at being omni-directional.
Let us know when you come up with something.
@@diamagus2512 I have two, one is the same shape but with teflon balls in surface that will roll when you walk or run on it. The other is small hexagons that rides on a track system. With that shape the small tiles can move forward, backwards, and diagonally. The track would have to be a sphere for it to work and that might cause a height problem.
And of course he vanishes after his snide comment about you coming up with one. Good job on seeing potential with VR slidemills and good luck.@@Datrebor
Looks AWESOME! Can't wait
But the kat walks newest model is 800 bucks and works with quest standalone and pc support. Works with every games pretty much. So this company is not only pretty late to the party. But others less ten ten % of the game support for more that three times the cost.
KAT is not all-in-one and they are most likely in violation of Virtuix patents. Difference is night and day. You pay for what you get.
@@tomburks5627 So you're saying it's Virtuix's advantage that they are pushing down your throat a 2 years old (will be 3 years old next year when the treadmill ships) Pico Neo 3 as an obligatory part of your purchase? And that you have to purchase games on their own game platform?
I fail to see how this all-in-one really works for my benefit as the user in this case. So far as I know the first consumer treadmill from kat released months before virtuix announced the Omni One (which is way more similar to kat c1 than kat c1 was to the original virtuix omni from years ago. So I am pretty sure Virtuix violates KAT VR's patents as well. Probably the reason why the 2 companies are not going to legal war).
Either way, it's an $999 purchase or $2600 purchase for very similar thing
skyrim VR (modded, obviously) will be a workout. hahaha I will definitely enjoy this
What are those shorts? LMAO
Not allowed on planes that's for sure
What about KatVR? They are the
complete OG’s! And $899 vs $2,600!
exactly, this looks no different to what katvr has been offering for far less.
Have u tried a KatVR? It's almost unusable
Virtuix was definitely doing this before katvr
@KidBrooklyn the c2 is very much usable compared to first gen kat vr. It literally feels very natural, I've tried the c2 core recently and it's very much similar to real life walking once u get used to it
Man, the next generation of gamers are gonna be JACKED
6.4 inches = 16 centimeters
I think there's only one part that fits
giggity
Should I add treadmill support to Sail VR???
add the one piece first dawg
Will Dolphin Hunter VR work ?
Is so cool
How would you compare this to the Cat C2?
Good to hear someone actually mention the Quest 2 updates that are causing a lot of users grief including pixelation in the Right Eyepiece. Meta help refuse to acknowledge the issues and their only suggestions are Factory Reset or make a return for a refurbished replacement.
So if it can be fixed by a factory reset, why not do it. Like a phone or PC factory reset fixes some issues and therefore is a reasonable option. To not want to do that is pretty dumb.
@@AverageEveryDayLayman Because a factory reset does not fix the issue, neither does requesting a replacement headset. There are 26 pages of people with the same issue on the Meta Forums. The issue has been happening for around 6 months after Meta released update V53
@@AverageEveryDayLayman It wont let me post the link to the Meta Forum but google "Flashing white/colored pixel artifact problem (introduced around v53)" if you want to read about the issue that so many users are having
I'm sorry but nobody is going to talk about his ridiculous liefield cargo shorts?
SWEET. My oldest son said he pre-ordered his back in March.
if this gets a good pc thing going and i can just get the Treadmill without the headset i think this would be more appealing that's just me tho
2600!? Eh I'll stick with the kat vr
Me too. Once I will purchase it.😊
I tried this Omni in Las Vegas and I got massive motion sickness.
W video 🔥🔥
Love your videos have a good day
How high is the platform itself? My basement is 6'10" high and I'm 6' tall. I am trying to make sure that I would have enough headroom to use this.
It's about 1' and you need headroom. Your basement would be a no.
thanks for the response. My wife is going to let me put it upstairs now. 😁@@pixelfairy
Well, pico is dead… now what?
Until the majority of the VR gaming development industry gets involved (especially the big guys like Valve, Meta, etc), it is best to just save your money and wait before throwing away 2 bands and halfs at them.
Just buy quest 2 and go outside :D
I like the street
Nice and smooth
Thanks for this detailed review.
I would not pay $2500 maybe $500
The big question is are they selling the treadmill alone without the headset for a discounted price so people with VR setups already don't have to shell out for a headset they won't be using?
no u get all of it. doesn't sell separated which is dumb
Sweet video! ❤ I'm in Texas a lot and had no idea they were there. I've still never tried any of the "strap in" treadmills like that. Would you use it regularly if you had one?
No chance with that price. Not even close.
This is what I'm keeping my eye on. Want to see this added to all vr headsets though and no be exclusive to theirs. Also need to see compatibility in games and other applications.
I'm not going to buy one if they keep it exclusive. That's the same reason i don't buy apple products.
That is an expensive and frankly noisy coat and hat wrack. What the hell is going on with the noise? That was SO loud! nah thanks I'd rather push forward on the left stick.
It is ridiculous, and unnatural, they walk and run as if they were drugged, drunk or have some motor problem, the only treadmills that work and feel natural are like the infinadeck
really cool. but it seams to have the same iusse I have will all treadmills like this you cant walk normally. I get that right now a consumer treadmill will not be perfect but why couldn't them make the base larger so you can take a full step and your stride length would net be an iusse.
The running base should have a proper moving belt, similar to those running treadmills have. Sliding on the soles of your shoes is not running!
“Consumer friendly” it costs almost 3k and you have to pay a 200$ deposit for a spot in line
What happened to Nathie? Why is he so bony and skinny hes not like how he used to be im kind of worried (:/
6.4 inches?
Room setup tour please and tips for playing vr like your circle on the floor at home
Still have to slide feet rather than walk. No thanks. Not even actually a treadmil
you see the games? garbage!
No lol this is not the future
Nice... I'm gonna pass
Yes. Because that’s how people walk and run…………
how many treadmills this guy build?
Counting this one ?
Uhhhh 2
Hi ^^,
Will you make a Freeaim shoes review ?
they are free to contact me
Love to but neighbours would lynch me!
bro is wearing a short made of pockets kkkkkk
Conveniently store his pills
6.4 inches? 😂
It's not just ready player one. This dates back to a 1994 film with Michael Douglas called disclosure. Ready player one probably copied it from. That film
games are garbage
pre built*
I have neighbors next door
crap
Shame it doesn't work with oculus quest
It is definitely a good step forward
6.4 inches? Only suitable for Mike, then.
haha yep
I would assume that since it wasn't mentioned, virtuix still has no plans to have a standalone treadmill option available for purchase.
Yes, they have the dev kit for about $900 iirc
@@kthanks8240 That's a 'no', dev kits are not consumer products in fact I just checked their site and I don't even seen an option to buy a dev kit. Someone from their company posted on reddit about a month ago stating that they have no plans or intentions of offering a stand alone product. I guess my only hope is that they have a plan in place to quickly pivot away from that and offer a stand alone product. The fact that they even made the choice is a bad sign in my eyes and makes it less likely I would be willing to spend money on a product they sell.
Virtuix or kat-vr?
Is there support for psvr2??
Just make a felt shoe
One day… one day…
Built for small people and extremely loud…..no thanks.
7 feet people DO exist Omni….
The increase in immersion is just not worth the downsides. Like it being really hard to aim in an FPS when you're shuffling around on those things..
It would be cool for walking around in World of Warcraft VR or something.
At the end of the day, stick move while standing and turning with my body is already enough to trick my brain.
Not as much of a problem for that "Vehicle Hub Expansion" or (flipping seat attachment) that Kat VR introduced... probably since you can sit down to aim with it.
Hopeful wish: Apple vision pro development/integration with virtuix Omni one. Now THAT experience will accelerate, and make “Real Player One” into reality!
"cult classic"
Ready player one is a garbage movie at every turn lmao
Far too large, far too expensive, and obviously unnatural in the way it limits your movements.
I want to sweat quite as an exercise if possible while playing a game with Omni One. Can it come true?
Nah... that ain't it. Way too bulky. There will be something more manageable I think
Eyy texas
