nice to see silicone protecting and maintaining the seal !! Don't forget on the bottom of the inner shroud there is another filter that catches any large particles; This also needs cleaning
The video really helped me when my filter started sipping water through the cap. Didn't really know what it is and if I can open it. But cleaning the seal fixed all my troubles. Thanks a lot!
I fitted one of them for the first few weeks the crap that came out of it was terrible but now not much at all and the radiators r working great now 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the nice and clear video. Going to do this on ours now. Been calling the guy who fitted it to come do a service but he doesn't seem to want to do it.
The caps on these and similar are often seized quite tight, so you have to hold the body or you'll break the thing. Good tip about putting silicone on O ring.
Thanks, very helpful, but at the end you said get the power up a bit more on your boiler, how to you get the pressure up a bit more on a boiler? Have no plumbing knowledge at all, but might try this job at home.
When I do mine, I turn the isolation valves off, release pressure on the TOP valve, undo, clean filter, put back and tighten. Tighten top bleed valve. Then open valves and bleed via top valve. That way you loose minimum CH fluid and don't need to re-pressurize system.
Good video and very helpful. In a way, it would've been better to see a dirty filter to see how you would go about cleaning it and in what acceptable condition it should be in when putting it back.
Hi Allen I got worchester 42 cdi classic boiler with tf1 magna filter. Easy enough to follow cleaned it few months go .but issue got is water pressure low from hot tap checked pressure gauge bottom of green ,basically all im supposed to do turn off boiler at the spur . And pull blue lever down ,originally all I had to this but could hear the water hissing as lever was pulled and pressure slowly increased .but now cant hear hissing. If it does it only does it for 1 to 2 seconds after 10 minutes pulling leaver erratically Bearly moved .but water increases its flow .but if turn a tap on down stairs whilst some one is showering then drastic drop of water from shower head .I got hive went to community section waiting for reply .to be honest I think its choked up with chalk or some crap .I'm in South waters hard here almost as hard as us northerners lol 😆. Hope give me idea of whats wrong .got service coming up 7th December hopefully sort it s under warranty. Also is they anything I should put in central heating to stop it getting chalked up ? And where would I put it and how 🤔 , like an inhibitor?
Good video, I was going clean mine out but I wasn't sure how to do it, I'm confident now on how to do it , thank you 😊 , how often do you need to clean it ??
Would of been a good video but it looks he didn't actually clean the filter by running it under water when the magnet was out which is the whole point of taking it out. I know it only had minimal fragments on it but if it's off anyway it should have been cleaned properly to bring it back up to 100% efficiency. Looks like he just put it back in straight after adding the silicone grease, unless I'm missing something?
@@AllenHart999 maybe the video should be renamed to how to apply silicon to the o ring of a Magnaclean pro 2 filter as unfortunately no where do you mention the actual process of cleaning the filter. i.e. remove the magnet 1. clean the debris off the outside, then 2. clean the inside of the bottom part of the plastic filter which comes off to catch non magnetic particles and the 3rd bit that should be done is clean the top filter
Rocky Kanbi Sorry my time and effort Isn’t upto your standards, feel free to do a video and upload it or even send it to me and I will add it on my channel 😂😂😂
My boiler kept losing pressure every few days and then i found my filter is backed up with sludge and was dripping from the top. Is this probably why my pressure was dropping ? Thanks for advice
Prob expansion vessel mate, would take a while to lose pressure from a dripping filter imo, check prv outside and see if wet, then more likely expansion vessel needs re-pressurising. NOT a DIY job btw.

Thank you so much for pulling me up on that, You are absolutely correct, The bottom does have a filter for larger particles. Thanks again 👍
@@AllenHart999 no pulling you up Allen as we are all there to work together with help and support
Glad to see your still doing well Allen. Stay safe.

Thank You.

Great video very professional Allen

Thanks for showing me what to do, cheers Alan
Any time!

Allen, would the silicone grease wash out eventually?

Perfect mate thankyou👍👍
Hi.
Why didn't you clean the grey plastic sleeve. I dismantle and wash through with hot water 👌
If only you were closer to me I would employ you for my boiler work for sure. Allen Hart, Yorkshire's finest :-)
So did you clean it? It looked like it still had stuff on, how do you get the stuff off
Do you have to bleed all the radiators when you put the radiator back on ?

Great thanks do mine at the weekend I think
How often should this cleaning process be done?
Every year when you have the boiler serviced is fine. They can also test the water at the same time. ua-cam.com/video/3VcMnZEbrpg/v-deo.html

Rocky Kanbi if you don’t know how to wipe it off if needed then unfortunately there is no helping you😂 have a lovely evening 👍

Yes but it's to tight I've ha3 now is it a common fault don't forget your using brand new equipment
We do not have those here in the states.
