- How to clean a Magnaclean Professional 2 filter.
Turn off the boiler. (so it doesn't try to push water around the heating system.)
Close the two isolation valves.
Open the air vent at the top of the filter using a radiator key.(to release the pressure.)
If you are going to add inhibitor to the heating system,
Put a bucket below the Magnaclean to catch any water.
Open the drain valve at the bottom of the canister to drain the water.
Close the air vent.
Open the lid of the canister using the big plastic spanner.
Lift out the filter from the canister.
Remove the magnet from the sheath.
Clean off the sludge.
Insert the magnet into the sheath.
Close the drain valve, then use the small plastic spanner to secure it.
If you are adding inhibitor, pour it in to the canister now.
Insert the filter in to the canister.
Hand tighten the lid, then use the big plastic spanner to secure it.
Open the isolation valves.
Turn on the boiler.
Bleed the air vent using a radiator key.
Done.
Your Magnaclean filter is now clean.
Tip: If you are going to add inhibitor, before draining the water out of the canister, it may be a good idea to remove the filter then note the water level, so you can see how much inhibitor to add. If you put a whole bottle in, it may overflow when you put the lid on. - Навчання та стиль
It's amazing how dirty the filters get. I have had several boiler services done by so-called boiler engineers. None of them cleaned the Magna clean filter or added inhibitor. One engineer came, shone his torch under the boiler and that was all the service consisted of.
Unfortunately, not everyone is thorough with their work. Now you can save money and do this yourself.
For the warranty on one of my tumble dryers, I have to contact them to come and clean it once a year (included in the price) they have sent different people to "clean" it, and they have done completely different things from each other. I think they that they just do what they feel like. Thanks for watching.

This was the first time I cleaned it. I installed it just before I unblocked one of my radiators, so most of this sludge was probably sitting in the bottom of that before I agitated it with my hammer drill. Thanks for watching.

Scary, yucky but nice at the same time. Should it be cleaned more often or was that amount of sludge about right? BTW, 1 'l' here, too!
This was the first clean after installation. I will do it again in a couple of months to see how it's doing. I guess that if it was clean, then I wouldn't need a filter. Thanks for watching.

brand new magnaclean. wait till you try and get spares. they will sell you some parts not others. now make a video where you cant pull the magnaclean off the stop valves. year old clean install. try an buy them push fit parts.
Thanks for watching. If you register the magnaclean, they will send you replacement o-rings for free. Not sure what other parts you would need unless maybe you are removing the cannister and using it as a place to connect a magnaclense for a power flush, then you manage to damage something.
