  • This video goes over the assembly of an Amazon Sunwin 4050CM CNC laser engraver which is a rebranded Bachin 4050. I am running T2Laser software. Overall really happy with the initial impressions of this product.

Thank you for this video, it's been extremely helpful. I purchased this same unit to help with cardboard model building. It's my first laser.

Seems like a bit of work putting this together. Don’t they sell this already assembled?

Have you had any trouble with the wires being in the way? I hope you are still on here. Thanks in advance.

Very helpful! Thanks! Is it possible to upgrade the laser? Newbie here, and I bought the 2.5w model. Hoping to upgrade the laser down the road when I get proficient.

I am currently assembling this machine and it barely moves on the track when I try to push it. I've tried loosening the screws on the rollers and adjusting the tension on the timing belt and NOTHING is helping. It's like it's stuck. Ideas???

Hello, there will be resistance from the stepper motors, that is normal. Have you tried powering on the machine? It will probably work fine. I just checked mine before writing this, it has a good bit of resistance when turned off, when turned on it shouldn’t move unless commanded. The stepper motor will hold its position and not budge until commanded. Hope that helps!

@@TheGarageVlog Thanks for the reply! I actually powered it on this afternoon and it worked perfectly! So yes, the resistance was normal.

Hello, i have question. Is it possible with Bachin 4050 to cut printed paper? For example i printed some graphics on paper and i want to cut it out with laser. It is basically pixel art graphics with scale 1mm=1pixel and i need cut it out. But i am affraid that i would not be able to calibrate cutting route vs printed picture on this scale or am i? :) I dont want to buy laser cutter and then figure out that i am screwed :D Tons of thanks in advance for reply!

This laser is very impressive when it comes to accuracy. You would probably have to make two files. One to engrave the picture on a lower power, then a separate file to make the cut contour outline on a higher power to actually cut through the paper. If you have a link to a image you would want to try with a size, I could give it a try when I get some free time.

@@TheGarageVlog Basically i want cut out parts for shadowbox style art. So i have printed graphics on matte photo paper (220g/m2) and i want to do cutting by laser since manully it is time consuming and not perfect. Anyway there is a link on printing sheet which i think is self explanatory - everything white must be cutet out and cutting must be ideally pixel respecting :) imgur.com/a/VFmVgeI
If you are able to try it that would be amazing! :)

I see what you’re trying to do now. The laser isn’t the ideal tool for that. I’ve done this before with a machine called a Silhouette. There is an option for printing “registration marks” on your paper, then you send it through the machine, it’s uses a sensor to know where the paper and images are exactly at, and then it cuts out what you program. It’s around the same price as the laser, but a higher quality machine that is made to do for exactly what you are trying to do. You stick the paper to an adhesive cutting mat. It would be hard to line that up perfectly in the laser, there would be a lot more steps in the programming as well, the Silhouette software is really simple to use. It’s been probably 6 years since I’ve used mine, but check them out and let me know if you have any questions.

@@TheGarageVlog I encountered with this type of device when i was searching for solution for my task. I found Brother ScanNCut which is basically same as Silhoutte devices (they are not available in our region so delivering in from US would cost something). But i was unable to find solid info about limits of cutting regarding to details (if you know the limits, share it! :D). Like for my example i have pixels with dimensions of 1mm. Will it be able to cut it and preserve pixel detail? Only solid option is to try it, i guess somewhere. But then i found out that lasers engravers have small stepping, so they should be able to achieve this details in theory - regardless of calibration. In both cases there is not enough info anywhere, whether i am able to do this with cutter or laser or use something else:)

I just recently purchased the bachin version and i'm having some trouble with the engraver master software, is the T2 that much better? I'd love to see some videos on some of your projects.

The T2 is a lot better in my opinion, it's pretty easy to use. I haven't used the laser in awhile, I should make a few more videos on it. Thanks for watching!
