I have the same laser as you, the problem that you are having with the lines is becauseYou need to tighten the motor bands, also it seems that the capacitors that the laser haves are not enough and then sometimes the laser lose power, to avoid that you can pause the laser after 1 or 2 minutes of work so the capacitors can refill again, you can use a keyboard/mouse control program to do that automatically.
the other way is to use less power in your laser and move the motors slowly

Hey I'm doing a uni project in which I'm required to etch/engrave onto the surface of a pre-made box. I was wondering if this laser cutter could engrave onto a box about 13cm deep if I set it up higher than the box on another stand? Thanks:)

hello i am curious can this machine engrave a plastic magazine like for a m4 etc.? i only saw you do something that is thin in size. the magazine sits about an inch high when laying down would this be an issue?

I bought a laser cutter, only a small a4 one to start with, and I spent a whole day fiddling around trying to flash Grbl and get the steps/mm correct. I nearly bashed it against a wall but I held back and succeeded

Hello, I bought a car with a le 5040 field. installed everything, but the native program on a large field, gives only a small picture. I want to make a big one. What program do I need to increase. thanks

Friend ... I was trying to use the program to test my 550mw laser cutter and the laser light went on ... I hit a metal bar and the room lit ... I did not see it directly but I could feel the blue light ... do you think he hurt me? I did not have the glasses on ... it was only an instant and I know that it takes a millisecond to hurt ... I'm afraid that it hurt me.

Tried the link you listed for the US version. Pop up says "out of stock" then I get directed to 3d printers. Customer service seems to be completely nonexistent.
Great video.. Does the laser lose any engraving power if height is extended over an object? I want to engrave wood object that cannot fit in engrave area, without raising the engraver. Thanks.
Andre Jacobs Well you have to have flat object and laser in focus to be able to engrave precisely and even. For example if you will engrave round(ball) object laser will go out of focus down the curve and it might not engrave at some spots at all or very week You can add more power but then on areas where laser is in foxus it will burn it way to much then on non focus places. I hope i explained it right.
Nice unit, I'm looking forward to getting one, the main use would be to cut 5mm white foamboard, have you done any test with this material? I would like to know if it would do a nice straight cut, without melting the foam away under the paper layer.
Also, are you able to control the power of the laser, so you can either cut & engrave on the same process?
This laser has cut everything I've thrown at it with the exception of some metals. The power level can be adjusted and you can also increase the speed of the laser so its not in one place for too long. Just make sure you have extra materials because you will need some to practice on.
how thick is the plexiglas from which the pieces are made?

I had to put mine together using the photos of the unit from the Amazon pictures. It was a real pain. It took me about 4 hours. I also wish they had instructions included. I'd think that it would be nice to add the instructions on how to put these things together. Good luck friend.

The main power to the whole Laser engraver is Adapter with Output DC 12V 5A and on back on adapter is label saying input AC 100-240V so you can go easy with EU plug and save money. :) Use provide links in video description and coupon to save even more money :) You will get better price. A lot of people make their own custom dice. Can you engrave on acrylic dice?
What kind of software is supported? It support "ai" (illustrator) or something from vectorial files?
It likely uses SVG format with upto 300DPI. That being said, any vector software should work fine if the export is correctly scaled and set to RGB. Inkscape is highly popular since it's cheap. But I prefer using corel over all others.
How do I install the software if I have a Mac???

mine does not control the laser :( its got an off/on switch ontop but the software control does not work..
The Hot End - 3D Printing & Technology Look for the buttons on top of laser module. Find right combination and it will be accepted in software. Practically you need to click on each button couple times until you turn laser off or swich it to low power mode then you flash it using provide software and then try to turn off or on laser using software.
Theres only 1 button, low power mode - tried it both off and on and reflashed software. I think the arduino nano is dead/faulty as the pin does not switch voltage when software is telling laser to be on or off

Balsa may need 2-3 passes with 2.5w laser. 5.5 should do in 1-2 passes. Up to 1/4 plywood cuts in 3-5 passes usually. It won't do it in one go. It's an engraver not technically a cutter. But can do it

@YN Photography look for low power or low light laser in software or might have button on top of laser, makes it nicer so won’t engrave and can line up the part

hai, it's possible to cut MDF wood and clear acrylic ? I usually cut MDF wood using CNC router, and need to know if I can replace it with LED laser
A diode laser isn't for you. A CO2 laser will reluctantly cut MDF--when cutting plywood, lasers have more trouble with the glue than the wood, and MDF is largely glue. Clear acrylic is transparent to blue light (you can see blue things through it, after all) so it doesn't absorb energy from a blue laser. Infrared lasers like CO2 lasers cut through clear acrylic beautifully.

Assembly video is done with AZ1VR Action Cam and rest of video is record with Samsung S7 edge with advanced camera settings. Lights is 4 neon standard lights 36W mount on ceiling. I could take everything in 4K but video editing takes ages. :D

I‘d personally use a 500 mW 405nm laser because it‘s a single mode diode and produces much better engraving results

when you want to place a drawing at an exact place. How do you manage that? Can you position and tell the engraver where the x=0/y=0 point is?

Yes, you can turn on the low powered laser as a guide when positioning the laser. Just make sure to turn off the low powered laser before making the actual cut.

Is it possible to burn a logo directly into a table top or slab of wood larger than the unit while the unit is sitting on that slab? I have been looking at branding irons but do not like the limitation of having just one brand, or having to purchase over and over ...vs the flexibility of putting unique or custom designs onto cutting boards, coasters and tables I have made. Thanks in advance.
ptmagrath Yes of course! There is planty of power for engraving the table top or slab of wood. I agree, that sounds like good idea. P.S. In video description I place even larger unit check it maybe it's more suitable for large surfaces.
Can you laser mark metal using this machine? Metal marking with cermark or any dry moly marking sprays?
Joseph Liu This laser engraver can not engrave or cut metal. You need way more power for that type of work.

That depends on the fabric (like if its fire retardant) but a 3000mw should be plenty for it. If it doesn't make a cut on the first pass, try slowing down the speed of the laser and increasing it's passes. Eventually the laser will cut it.
Same requirement for me as well. These are chinese machine rebranded. Looking to buy one for my factory purpose to cut fabric. I have the same question which laser should I buy to cut polyester. But considering the fact even 500mW will also do I think.
Correct. Laser cutting fabric doesn't require a high powered laser at all. just make sure the work area of the machine is large enough for what you're trying to accomplish.

Yes of course there is plenty of power. You can do it for hours laser diode has very good cooling fan on the top of heatsink.

Yes Mark! With 300mm/s speed you can cut through 3mm plywood in 3 pass. I you slow down even more you can cut through in 2 pass but it's going to burn maybe to much. It's cutting 3mm plywood pretty good. Possibly you can cut through even more thick plywood or similar material by just let the laser pass more times cutting line.
