I have the 1720 and either the Engraver or Engrave Master software is causing all kinds of grief. Some projects I have done work out ok, but there always seems to be a glitch. I would never trust this engraver to go directly to a project without testing the entire burn prior to engraving on the actual item. Even then I'm wary as I've had the engraver stop in the middle and had to re-sand to get the surface prepped again. Project loads ok into the Engrave Master software, adjust all settings as described and test size, start burning and then part way through the laser just stops. Software does not install like normal apps as it doesn't show up in the app's section of control panel. Reinstalled, but not sure if it's even reinstalling cause you can't uninstall first. I've used engravers many times before at work and this should be dead simple and the machine is making it a nightmare to work with. Not sure if it's the software or or laser that's the problem. The key is it starts to burn and then just stops....Unless this can be fixed I cannot in good faith recommend this unit to anyone or provide a positive review.since the machine is only a few months old and has probably done less than 15 small jobs

I have this machine and I can't work out how to get the lasor to start cutting at a certain place. How do I ensure that when I put the work under the lasor that it puts it where I want it. Because at the moment I Place the work under the lasor and when I press start it moves and starts cutting. I want to be able to make it cut where I want it to cut not wherever it likes.

Hello, I bought the D8-4050P in July 2019, however due to a move I was never able to use it. I downloaded the software on a dedicated laptop (with Win7). I installed the software and drivers. The laptop recognises the device, the light is green and the softare says CLOSE (means it connects to the device). I turn the power on, however if I try to test the machine movements or power up the laser nothing happens. Any idea of what I can do to make this work? Thanks
hello friend ,the software is no problem.It is estimated that there is a problem with the power supply.There is a blue light on the control board. When the power switch is pressed, the blue light is on, indicating that the power is on. If it is not on, it means that there is no power. It is recommended to change to a 12V power adapter
@@bachinmaker6004 fixed. I am only ashamed I did not check the power supply. So now it works. I did test some carvings and they come out very burned despite focusing the laser and reducing the intensity. I will look if I am doing something wrong and try to get cleaner and more defined carvings

If the Y-axis still not move, check whether the motor cable is not properly connected, and whether the bearing screws connected to the motor are tightened. If the X-axis does not move , it may be that the drive on the control board is not work

@@patriotu.s.elections7879 It depends on whether the laser port of your control board is PWM or 2 wires. If the port is the same ,the laser maybe suitable. 4050 machine can go with higher laser module ,like 5500mW ,7W and so on.
