I would use that sloped area, minus the trees, as your pumpkin patch, or for other vining plants, like watermelon…. That way, in the winter, it would be a beautiful “empty” lot for viewing the mountains. Also, the grassy area back there could be changed to a clover field…. Easy care and beautiful color in season, think crimson clover.
Watching you draw out possible plans for the new north property, if it was anyone else I'd be thinking, "You've got big pipe dreams!" But after watching you flip your front entry, rebuild your original front lawn, remove a block of road, completely change the front facade of the white barn, lay out a very impressive infrastructure, take the south lawn through a few lives, build from scratch the berry raised beds and cut flower garden and build an amazing Hartley greenhouse over the past several years.... ...this is just so exciting! I just can't wait to see what's next!! Color me waiting on the edge of my seat!!!
Yup. Even my own mother was that way. Dumps garbage(mainly bright red Coke cans) right out of her car in the yard, with garbage cans near the driveway, on the porch, and next to and inside of the garage... Then I moved to Ohio, and the neighbors kept every appliance and decoration they ever owned... In their lawn. Constantly bought and we're donated new things, and the old stuff got tossed outside. Called the city, but they wouldn't do anything unless it became a hazard... 🤨 Even when someone ODed, and died, because they couldn't access them quickly enough... Yup. Moved real quick.

Oh my! Your home is your business..can’t have neighborhood kids running around wild all day. (Oh, the good old days) Don’t even know why I made this comment..❤(KH)
We played baseball on our neighborhood tract house street! We must have fielded and batted okay, because parents trusted us (pretty much). Girls and boys, about 12 of us on any given day. Thx for the memories . xo

Truly a nice haul of plants. Loved it. The kids are getting so big and grown up in their ways. So glad you share them with us. They’re delightful. Russell looked so content. Always enjoy seeing him ever since you brought him home as a kitten. ❤️❤️❤️
Oh to be young again and have even 1/10th of your energy!! Looking forward to seeing all the wonderful projects you’ll use these GORGEOUS plants on. Your explanation of the beginning plans for the new property was great! Your “drawing” helped a lot and was so much better than if you’d walked around the area trying to explain it. I LOVE that you’re planting so many shade trees around the play area! I wish our city parks departments would do the same. So many have play sets plopped out in the sunniest areas that get so hot in our hot Utah summers.
Very nice! I love to see all the new plants! I understand it takes awhile to have everything ironed out concerning the new property. You have plenty enough already in progress to keep us busy. Yes, in degrees it is warmer here but if feels cooler due to the humidity.( 5:01 Zone four) Thanks for showing all of the lovely plants and explaining the new propeties. We are all hoping we can get our plants planted outside soon! Snowed some today but it didn't stick! 😊
Thank you so much for sharing the sketch! I am such a visual person and love seeing the plans you have down on "paper"! This also helped tremendously with visualizing how the dream stream will be laid out. Loving all your ideas, thank you so much for taking us along on your journey! I am looking forward to seeing how your property and plans evolve.
Gardening family, please pray for our friends at 'Gardening with Creekside' regarding their devastating weather-related issues the past few days. They have been featured on GA videos before.
Really enjoy watching your videos! I read in a previous comment that Cheddar is no longer with us…is this true? I am praying that it’s not true. That would be just too sad 😢.
And…on a sadder note, I’m praying for Creekside Garden. Poor things. I’m in Ga, and the weather has been CRAZY. But, not that crazy. Actually got teary.
Love your videos! You are such an inspiration. Wow, basketball court, kids play area, maybe Aaron can get the swimming pool he has wanted. Would be a great family gathering area. ❤
They have both mentioned many times in many videos that they do NOT want a swimming pool. Her parents have a pool and all her family use it. Plus not everyone has a desire to have a pool.
I love how considerate you are for your neighbors view, not everyone is looking out for their neighbors(ours, 🤨) I am visual as well, and you did a great job getting your point across. I just love your property!💚💚💚
Hi Laura and Aaron! What fun I had today watching your early videos and realizing how far your property has come since those days. Aaron I have always appreciated your choices of music - it takes the videos to another level entirely. Laura, thank you for sharing your beautiful smile.
The large slope at the very back of the property could be a good place for some tiger eye sumac-- you could let it just ramble and spread without having to worry about maintenance and whatnot. I thought maybe you had said you were gonna rock over it or something, but the sumac is an idea! :)
What a great delivery. I can see many hours of planting and enjoyment in your future. Yesterday I finally got tomatoes and peppers in the ground after all the stroms Oklahoma has goten over the past weeks. I actually understood your plans for the new lot. It will look so nice in the near future.
Behind the barn you should consider a clover lawn instead of grass. It gives the appeal of a grass with a lot less maintenance. Clover lawns are drought resistant, less expensive, no need to fertilize or apply pesticides/herbicides and it rarely needs to be mowed.
WOW! You have a lot of work cut-out for yourself, Laura, but how beautiful all your gardens will be! Loved seeing the whole family working in the green house. So hard warming. Lots of "behind the scenes" work that has to be done that you so graciously allow us to view. Helps us to understand how much work has to be done to achieve such beauty! So very lovely! Thank you!
Just got my order of proven winners supertunias and for 20 plants it was $180!!!! which for me is a lot and these will just cover a couple small areas for me. The haul of stuff shown in this video is really a crazy amount of $$ and plants. It's hard to wrap my head around getting that much stuff for a residential property.
Whoa! Do you ever catch your breath? Hoping you keep the back area grass for a while, for the kids. Russell is adorable! 😍 have you considered putting the high tunnels near your greenhouse? Would seem rather odd to keep them so far apart.? Hope you find some quiet time with the family, that seems like alot of work! I remember having that kind of energy when I was your age, enjoy it while it lasts.
So much fun to follow your future plans and dreams! The mention of a rec pond made me think of the natural swimming "pools" or ponds. I thought it'd be a cool little continuation to see that beyond the dream stream if kiddos are old enough that you feel safe about it. It'd be right next to their play area too!
I've been watching for a very long time and I'm just so excited to see the new property develop. Those plans are amazing! Just a thought, are you planning a small comfortable seating area by the swings for y'all to sit while the kiddo's are playing? Maybe a pergola with hanging lights and a table.
How about a pond swimming pool that will extend the fish pond to the creek bed and end with a pool pond that the kids can swim in! I have a friend who did this and it’s beautiful!
Samantha petting Russell with a paint brush was just the cherry on top of a very satisfying video to watch. What an amazing cleanup - I’d buy a bottle of that energy! 😂 Thanks for taking us along - the new plants are lovely and I’m really looking forward to seeing where they go in future projects. 🎉
QUESTION: Are you still thinking of getting horses, I thought you were thinking of placing them back there. 😬Great plans! I can’t wait to see them come together. 🥰
The space you are creating is going to be a treasure. Sometimes I see it, 50 years down the road, mature and shaded, a green jewel on the landscape. It is going to be a true masterpiece. Thank you for sharing this journey with us. It has been such a joy these last 7 years watching you and your space grow.
Having a gathering / bbq / covered area back in that grass area would be useful . Birthday parties, reunions, graduations, weddings.. ect... just an idea. ❤❤😊
Hey Laura. All looks great xx. I hope you don't mind but your friend Jenny at Gardening at Creekside could do with some love after the devastation of her nursery after a storm. Sure hope you could send some love down to North Carolina folks. It's heart breaking seeing her break down on her channel. Thanks Laura. xx
I am sure Laura and Aaron have reached out privately. Remember Laura's videos are filmed a few days in advance before we see them so today's video is before Jenny posted her update video. We have no idea what is being done when cameras are off so I hope people are not making assumptions Laura is not acknowledging her friends at Creekside.
Beautiful property. So much room for ideas! Love what you're doing with it. You could get some donkeys for the pasture? Or some animals that would keep the grass short? And provide valuable manure for the soil! Or a athletic pitch for soccer. You all do an amazing job keeping up with care taking for your gardens and the plants.
Laura, on this Mother’s Day weekend I want to honor your Mother. I do realize the difficulties in raising children as I had two of my own and I now have four grandchildren ranging in age from 18 months to 24 years. Your Mother has managed (with your Dad too) to raise a remarkable and cohesive family. When during your Father’s interview I was SO impressed when he gave her credit for managing so much of the discipline herself before he came home from work in the evenings. A critically important thing to do. I wish ALL the Mothers in your family a most HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY. What you all share with us is SUCH a gift! Thank You 😊
Morning Sweet Laura,Aaron,Children, and Crews, How exciting to be working on your new property, and all the new improvements. Stay safe, Sending my love and God's blessings to you all. Wanda In Bartlesville, Ok .
What about creating a labyrinth with boxwoods and annuals? Formal looking and very zen/meditative :) Love your channel with my morning coffee every day, but it gets me in trouble because I start dreaming and planning as big as you do!! 😅
@@JermaineGertse Yes, Labyrinths are similar, but usually not as high up as a maze, it's a tool used to help clear your mind, and sort of a walking meditation to follow the winding path. They are an ancient thing, and often found in temples and monasteries, very cool! I highly suggest looking them up on google and checking them out 🙂
Seeing you get your flood of annual plants, then watching Jenny at Creekside see her beautiful, hard work washed away by an actual flood was such a rollercoaster of emotions.
I personally think grass is a great idea in the area you are speaking about. Less maintenance than many other things and as you say keeps the dust down and the weeds. Exciting times 😊
Proverbs 12:10 says, “The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.” Kindness to animals is godly. In fact, caring for them is part of our purpose.
Again, as usual, you are inspirational. I need to get up, get dressed, and get outside. Time to plant and clean and water. Oh and set up my new GreenStalk - going to fill it with strawberries and flowers this weekend.
A picnic table out by the kids play area would be sweet. Sitting on a blanket is fun but as we age a table might be nice :)
Yes and shelter or canopy for shade?

I love your video's, with the whole family interacting together is the best!, and hearts for Russell he is the best cat ever!♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
❤❤❤
Go Laura, what an amazing life you two have made for your family🎉❤😇
🙏🙏
🙏❤️
Just heartbreaking
They’re fine and back open! Thank goodness! With perseverance and the help of great family, employees and friends, they got through it!
@@greenrockgarden2851Oh good. I enjoy their videos as well.
Your enthusiasm for the plants is so nice and for all the projects you have going on
It's lovely to see someone so happy with what you do
Really enjoy watching your videos! I read in a previous comment that Cheddar is no longer with us…is this true? I am praying that it’s not true. That would be just too sad 😢.
Right! Haven’t seen him in a bit
42:22 minutes of Garden Answer galore. What a treat! 😍🙏🌸
Hi Laura and Aaron! What fun I had today watching your early videos and realizing how far your property has come since those days. Aaron I have always appreciated your choices of music - it takes the videos to another level entirely. Laura, thank you for sharing your beautiful smile.
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤️
The large slope at the very back of the property could be a good place for some tiger eye sumac-- you could let it just ramble and spread without having to worry about maintenance and whatnot.
It's their business though, not just a residential property. Plus these annuals will also be used for projects outside of their place.
Your plants that you started from seed look beautiful!
So fun to see the kids and cats out helping you. Reminds me of my younger days.
Wow! I have loved this channel for years. WTG Proven Winners for picking the right representatives.
🌸🌸Way too fun! And a lot of work! Looking fwd to the projects. Don't worry about the plastic - wasn't loud at all!🌼🌼
A wildflower meadow sounds wonderful, and no mow until you decide what to do with it.
Thanks for taking us along - the new plants are lovely and I’m really looking forward to seeing where they go in future projects. 🎉
Russell found a good spot to take a nap.
Where does Cheddar take his naps now? He is never seen anymore.
Oh a wild flower meadow would look great back there with walking paths that are just mowed throughout it. So many possibilities.
QUESTION: Are you still thinking of getting horses, I thought you were thinking of placing them back there. 😬Great plans! I can’t wait to see them come together. 🥰
Apparently that area is too small
The space you are creating is going to be a treasure. Sometimes I see it, 50 years down the road, mature and shaded, a green jewel on the landscape. It is going to be a true masterpiece. Thank you for sharing this journey with us. It has been such a joy these last 7 years watching you and your space grow.
Mercy.. a bunch of busy beavers! I'm pooped...g l ad you had a lot I'd help. The plants are gorgeous
Thanks Laura. xx
I tried to comment on this yesterday. My comment was deleted three times.
@@ritasicari7518The top comment on yesterday's video is about Creekside.
I am sure she is aware. They are friends. I don’t think she needs to be reminded in her videos.
@@Meg_Davis I wonder why my comments were deleted.
Or a wildflower meadow with some logs scattered around as balance beams for the kids?
Russel in the potting tray! At first I thought “what kind of cutting board is that”?? It took my brain a bit to realize it was a cat. 😂😂
Thank You 😊
OG here, all I could think during the unloading was "Laura, back in the townhouse days did you EVER?!" Truly living the dream!
Like a maze?
@@JermaineGertse Yes, Labyrinths are similar, but usually not as high up as a maze, it's a tool used to help clear your mind, and sort of a walking meditation to follow the winding path. They are an ancient thing, and often found in temples and monasteries, very cool! I highly suggest looking them up on google and checking them out 🙂
Happy Mother's day! To your mom and Monica too! 💜😎
Seeing you get your flood of annual plants, then watching Jenny at Creekside see her beautiful, hard work washed away by an actual flood was such a rollercoaster of emotions.
I love that with all the activity, there was Russell taking a nap. Beautiful plant load!
When you said “red car” I thought you meant the Cozy Coop at first 😆
I personally think grass is a great idea in the area you are speaking about.
Thank you for this message. How true it is! 😊❤️
Thank you for sharing 🙌 😊!!💛🐈⬛
Amen sister 💕
Absolutely!
I agree and I have been concerned. Where is Cheddar?
Again, as usual, you are inspirational. I need to get up, get dressed, and get outside. Time to plant and clean and water. Oh and set up my new GreenStalk - going to fill it with strawberries and flowers this weekend.
Russel: "oh hey I wasn't napping, I was just mixing up this soil for you with all my extra toe beans" 😂
