I typed up the Gingersnaps recipe, then thought I'd share it. Gingersnaps 350° ¾ c. butter 1 c. brown sugar 1 egg ¼ c. molasses 1 t. ginger 1 t. cinnamon 1 t. cloves ¼ t. salt 2 t. baking soda Beat all the ingredients above until fluffy Add 2 c. flour Chill an hour Form balls & roll in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet 2” apart. Do not flatten. Cook for 8 minutes.
Benjamin melted my heart when he was telling us about how much he loves walking in the rain. He is such a precious child. I cannot believe how much Samantha has grown. She is so sweet. This video is the BEST!
I love to see when you follow family tradition, spend precious time with your parents, and include the kids in projects as it reminds me so much of my own family. The world need more of this! Instead of black friday shopping at big stores for cheap stuff, bake a cookie and visit a small business built by people who care about people and family. Laura you were raised right and it shows in how you are raising your kids.
Love this comment and couldn’t agree more. The way Laura is patient with her kids and allows them to help is a lost art and something I’d like to work on myself with my own kids ❤
I cannot even finish this video without committing that my soul is fed once again! How can I love Susan more than I do people in my circle? Susan is full of joy & love. She exudes all things amazing. Laura thank you once again for sharing your entire family. Sir Benjamin has gotten tall-he’s a sweetheart. Thank you for your shared knowledge & positive vibes with us. I am thankful that I have this channel in my life.
Thank you Laura and to your entire family.. I look forward every time you have a video and when this time of season comes around. All the seasons are special, but when we get to see all the traditions you all do together is so heartwarming and so meaningful. All the decorating at Andrews the Baking, when you go antiquing, shopping those are memories that will live forever with you all. The special occasions you spend with your family and you graciously include us along as well, how special it is. I would like to Wish you all and your viewers, a very blessed Thanksgiving and holiday season as well. May we all cherish these special times we spend together and celebrate everything we are grateful for, we are grateful for you all. 🙏🦃🎄✝️☃️❄️🧑🎄🎅🎉💫
Beautiful video! Your mother is so sweet and joyful, and as the quote goes, “The apple didn’t fall very far from the tree!” You’re just like her! Her home is amazing, with the floor to ceiling windows and open floor plan. I so enjoyed seeing the different trees and such special ornaments, especially the older ones that were saved from childhood. I have a tiny, miniature paper chain that was made by one of our children, and I tuck it into the tree every year. It’s all faded and down to about 3 or 4 inches long, but I can’t throw it away! Thank you for a lovely video……..I’m glad I found your channel! Jackie🪷
I love to enjoy Garden Answer every morning with my coffee to start my day. For years I thought it was feeding my gardening love... but I have come to realize that it is for the Love of your family,
I'm 73 never had a sister, mom died when I was 26, three sons, no daughters, no daughters-in-law, one granddaughter that's too busy and only visits once a month or so, so seeing your activities with your mom and sister brings me much joy. Thank-you for sharing.
😘 im so glad you can fill some of your hearts void through Laura's videos. I too enjoy her mom and sis time because I don't have a sister and my mom and i do not share interests.
I'm surrounded by girls, three daughters, but this baking morning brought me to tears. Thank you Laura, for sharing the beauty and love of your family.
This video felt like a warm hug on a cold winter’s day 🤗❤️ Please thank Susan for sharing her home and the wonderful memories associated with each of the trees and ornaments. Thank you for doing this. 😊
When my husband and I were starting out my father gifted us an oil painting that he bought from a painter in the park. He paid $20 for it. My husband and I didn't have much back then but we wanted to get the painting framed. We took it to Michael's and picked out the type of frame we wanted and the color it should be. It was so much fun until we went back a few days later to pick it up. We ended up paying $185 for the frame. Back then that was SO much money to us. We paid for it and left feeling stupid for not asking what it would cost. We still have that painting 22 years of marriage later. I guess in the long run it was worth it. We still love it and it's hung in our dining room.
It is a keepsakes. Love is priceless. $185 could of been spent on things forgotten and thrown away. But here you in 2024 and the $185 is more loved that ever in memories of your life stories. It will not be forgotten. Lesson learned and faith made it possible for you to have and to hold dearly.
I attended the Open House and was especially impressed with Benjamin. He was so adorable asking everyone if they wanted Apple cider. Such a sweet young man.
Isn’t it beautiful!? And that looooong countertop has to be such a joy for them to cook and bake together, esp after their stories about having to schooch around each other in the old kitchen when her dad wanted to get in the fridge. 😊
I must add, Samantha helping out at the garden center is a joy to see. She is growing too quickly! I'll say it again, thank you for sharing your family with us!😊
I'm sitting here crying as I remember Christmas baking with my mom! Those recipe cards, stained, ripped and loved. My mom has been gone long, but I still pull out the recipe cards each holiday season to make our traditional cookies, cakes and breads. I have most of those recipes by heart, but to see my mom's handwriting and smell her kitchen. Treasure the time with your mom and sister because I lost both of them too early. My sister when I was 39 and my mom when I was 40. Here I am 55 and letting the memories pour down my cheeks the day before I spend cooking and baking in the kitchen for my family for Thanksgiving! Laura, hug them tight and treasure these videos!
You brought back the sweetest memories in this video…..Benjamin brought back a precious memory….. my momma was in her last days and it was raining softly. She asked us to wheel her out to the patio so she could feel the rain on her face one more time. We did! She loved rain, too Benjamin!!! And the pumpkin bars…. Grandma and me made so many over the years!!!! Have fun, very special memory with Benjamin helping. Trees are stunning!!!!🎄🎄🎄
I also 💕 love 💕 your parents’ relationship. All the stories of how your Dad expresses his love toward your Mom touches my heart every time I hear a new one. Just love it so much. What a precious love. 💗
Benjamin and Samantha have such kind hearts. Walking thoughtfully in the rain, helping at Andrews. Just really good kids. 💕 This video was a feast for the eyes. Such pretty things! Your mom's house is such a happy place. Also, is there anything better than old discolored hand written recipes? I could swear they wouldn't taste quite as good if they were retrieved digitally 😊
My oh my! What a heart-warming vlog..🎄.Please thank your mom for letting us into her home, the gorgeous Christmas trees and autumn arrangements were done with so much flair, love and talent (plus showing us the family recipes)❣Samantha Grace and Benjamin were so darn adorable....Benjamin under the rain and Samantha helping you place the Poinsettias under the tree...so happy you and your family will all have this to look back on as they grow up.xxxxx It‘s always a pleasure seeing you lovely ladies together.Thank you Monica, Susan and Laura
As you can tell by ALL the comments we all loved this video !! Susan your addition to your home is just amazing !! It would take me too long to mention everything I liked about this video BUT, THANK YOU SO MUCH !! ❤❤❤ 😊😊😊
Love Benjamin and his "old soul" personality. Your mom's much-loved recipes are just like mine. Stained, wrinkled, spilled on... And full of memories. Such fun to join you ladies in your holiday baking. The story of your dad breaking down the bird seed in manageable packets for the older lady is priceless. No wonder Andrew's has been so successful. Your mom's trees are glorious. Again, there are many memories in the ornaments. That is what makes Christmas so special. Thanks for sharing your special day with us.🤗🌲💕❄🍪☕
It's always a delight when you invite viewers to family activity days 😊 Your parents new Kitchen looks well thought out to support 3 baking stations simultaneously and, it is lovely 💚 I just kept smiling watching Samantha Grace place Christmas plants with you at Andrew's as joy was radiating from each of you. This was so generous of you Laura to share this day with all of us 🥰
I love watching all Garden Answer videos, but the ones with Susan in them make me smile. Thank you, Laura, for sharing your incredible mother with us! She inspires me to be a kinder, more joyful person.
I always enjoy your videos! But today, I felt like I was there baking with you guys and it brought me out of my "holiday funk", so thank you for that. I enjoyed this more than I can express! ❤
Loved watching Samantha being Mama's helper placing the poinsettias. She is such a doll. And Benjamin loving the rain so much is precious. Beautiful plants for Christmas really sparkle up the Garden Center even more. That red with pink poinsettia is so unusual and I love it.
I love everything about this video. Christmas trees, baking and family time is just so much fun. I laughed when I saw Laura vacuuming - just so Laura. To the editor, thank you for including that little important piece.
Benjamin is precious talking about the rain. Loved hearing about your dad and the bird seed deliveries. And the ornaments he bought every year ❤. Those poinsettias are HUGE! I love the Christmas traditions with your family. Thank you!
Ok who else waived from their couch when Benjamin waived at the beginning of the video?😆 Susan's house is so very lovely. Something for the eye everywhere you look and lots of sentimentality...LOVE IT! ❤
Laura I am 80 years old it makes my heart with happiness seeing you girls helping your mom, then Samantha, helping to, three generations working together,it touches my heart, that’s what family is all about.Happy Thanksgiving, and A very Merry Christmas to you all. That includes you Erin 🙏👍👏👏🥰🌹
When I was Samantha’s age, we made “snow” and glitter walnut shells with a red velvet string at our Church nursery and I still have them all at the age of 59. My parents are gone and and hanging the Christmas ornaments is such a lovely, emotional, walk down memory lane! Thank you for sharing your traditions!!! PS Love your Mom’s Kitchen Aid Bowl!
I have to be honest. I don't know a thing about gardens, plants etc, I live in the Welsh valleys, my garden is all pebbles from the previous owner with only the occasional weed. Sevaral years ago I happened to watch the Dollar Store Christmas Tree Challenge and ever since I return every Christmas to watch the holiday content. Your family just warms my heart.
Yall are so blessed to have each other! I have 3 adult sons, 2 daughters-in-law but I will never experience what you 3 enjoy. Love to watch y’all together.
Your parents home is just beautiful. I remember you baking in their small kitchen a few years back….What a difference. This new one is just a dream. Thank you so much for the tree tour and seeing the Garden Center’s new shipment. Samantha Grace is going to be a real asset to her grandparents. She seems to love to help and I can picture her working there in the future. This really put me on the Christmas mood.
I started collecting the White House ornaments a couple of years ago, they are so well made and charming! I loved hearing Susan telling us about the woman who gave her Christmas decorations because you all had been so kind to her🥰🌲
I love the handwritten, much-loved recipes! Some fun ways to preserve and enjoy the recipe cards are to make some color copies to frame to hang in your kitchen. My mother-in-law made a collage of handwritten recipes from her mother and grandmothers to hang above the stove. Another idea is to make a family cookbook with color images of the recipes and food.
You have no idea the joy you and your family bring to me. The love and joy you exude is so contagious. Brings back sweet memories of mother baking and letting us sop the bowl. She was a marvelous cook and baker. Your children are so sweet. Happy birthday, Happy Thanksgiving, and Merry Christmas. God bless you. Linda from Georgia.
@@mammahoney29Well, it can’t cut you like a table saw or something, so power through and make something! 😆 I’ve wanted one for years and years, and finally got one in 2014 - my very favorite kitchen tool!! If you can put beaters in a hand mixer and twist the cup onto a blender or food processor, you can absolutely run a stand mixer! I kept wearing out hand mixers, good quality ones, and this has also allowed me to continue making bread even with arthritis - it’s been a wonderful investment for me. I promise you can do it!
Thank you so much to your Mom for sharing all her decorations with us. I love seeing how they all fit in the new house. She is an absolute gem. She is so lucky to also have her grandkids so close by they can come over anytime. I hope she will do another Christmas tour later.
@@saraw8503 Nothing like family treasures. I can remember everything about them, who gifted it to me , the family connection. When our elders die, it’s so gratifying to share the memories with others in the family, especially when there aren’t many of us still alive.
Your gingersnaps were a huge hit. Three batches already! Such a lovely and loving home to share family gatherings. Will you share info on your Mom’s mixer, please?
Some of the new Poinsettias are so extravagantly coloured - perfect for Christmas! Thank you so much for sharing your day with us, and please pass on our thanks to your Mum and to Monica, too. ✨🎄✨
Spectacular transition! From fall to winter's slumber ! I wish I lived closer to your folks store. Just pets and me left now, and the kitties just love testing out everything, so it's quite the waste for me these past years to decorate. Enjoyed the cookie production because I've lost my recipe of soft ginger snaps and mollasses, and you've got it! Please laminate those precious babies! WISHING EVERYONE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON PLEASE CHERISH EVERY MOMENT, as the children were doing, boy I miss those days of wonder and visions.
Your parents remind me of mine with there retail business, my mom had greenhouses and sold retail for many years and the customers loved her . She’s been gone eleven years now , you will treasure all the things you do with your Mom . I took some lessons on being a neat baker , I’m a slop in the kitchen 😅.
I started my day watching this and found myself watching again this evening. So joyful , your mum & Monica are such happy people and I smiled the whole time through . Love it
Oh Laura, what an absolute delightful video. It’s is ALWAYS so fun when your mom and Monica can join in on the fun. I think I enjoy these types of videos more than the actual “gardening” ones. LOL. Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving.
Did anyone else get emotional watching Samantha Grace helping her mama put out the beautiful poinsettia plants? I flashed back to the video where Laura put three little cactus arrangements together to let us know Benjamin was on the way… and now to see Benjamin enjoying his cookies with grandma and Samantha Grace helping mama at the store. Laura and Aaron thank you for letting us be on this journey with you all. Have a blessed Thanksgiving day. Zory in Katy, Texas.
How Fun!!! ❤❤❤ Tis the season for festivities lol. Wonderful to see your momma enjoying & utilizing her new kitchen area. Cooking & baking are so much more enjoyable when you have adequate space, equipment and Wonderful helpers. ❤❤ The garden center looks awesome!
Samantha is just so wonderful. It makes me think of my granddaughter when she was that age. Enjoy all the hugs and kisses and the help. What a wonderful age she’s precious.
I love your mom; she is the sweetest person and a wonderful grandmother. Monica is a sweetheart and so hard working. You are blessed with a wonderful family. Loved seeing you bake together. I love the tour of the Garden Center, It looks so festive and beautiful. Have a blessed day everyone.
I remember last year your Mom’s house wasn’t finished so glad she can enjoy it this year! First year on our new property we lived in a camper with 4 dogs while we built our house! Happy Thanksgiving
I know remodels can be frustrating and hard but gosh it was so worth it Susan. It’s gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. I used to do hair and a lot of my ornaments are from dear clients so totally understand how sentimental they can get. Live the story about the older lady and the five pound bags of seed.God Bless you All!
Oh Laura i Absolutely Love when you three get together to bake. It warms my ❤ so much. This is something you don't see much today. Oh my those cookies look delicious . Oh my Benjamin and Samantha are getting so big. Oh i Loved when Benjamin said he loves the gardens so much that he wNts to keep them forever. Samantha sure was having a good time with her purse. Thank you for letting us visit you ladies for awhile and I enjoyed every minute of it. So until next time God Bless you all and have a Blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving and stay safe my dear and Special Friends ❤❤❤
Benjamin's quote about being out in the rain: "I just love it so much. I just want to keep it forever." Ben, I agree whole heartedly and have since I was your age. Walking in a gentle rainfall brings me a peaceful contented feeling that everything is as it should be. I'm 73 now and still love being out in the rain, but with my rain coat on and the hood up !! Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
Thank you to Susan and Mike for welcoming us into your beautiful home! What a warm and inviting space! I loved listening to Susan explain the stories behind the ornaments. Laura, I hope you will feature your mom and sister in more of your videos. If I may suggest a video, I think it would be fun if you, Monica and Susan made and sampled holiday cocktails in the Hartley.
What a magical video! Tell your Mom, thank you, for sharing so much with us! We just love her so much. You're so special to have such a wonderful Mom! I just love seeing Benjamin helping some lol and Samantha Grace looked like she was having fun too. I loved it when you see how Samantha pinches mommy's chick, such the love!
I’m going to try the recipes so I saved the video . It’s the perfect weather. Your mom’s house it’s beautiful and comfy. Thank you for sharing the recipes. 😊
What could get me in the Christmas mood better than a tour of your parents' home and garden center and baking cookies? Those poinsettias are spectacular!! 🎅🌲💮🌸🌺
Fantastic addition! I absolutely love it. For YOUR family, having space in that kitchen for 3 cooks and 3 recipes (at least) happening at the same time is perfection! As our days are getting shorter and there is snow on the ground, I'm finding myself looking at old videos from years ago. It's fun to see Benjamin back then and now. All those garden changes in such a short time.
I had to look this up ... love love love this model of KitchenAid mixer, 2024 Artisan model with walnut wood bowl. Though, sadly bowl is not available for MY Artisan, or any other, according to KitchenAid - this morning. I had to call and order one but nope, only if I buy the mixer too ... dang. Google "evergreen artisan mixer with wood bowl". It's absolutely beautiful.
Your mom is like a warm hug. ❤
This whole video is like a warm hug! Loved every minute!
Legit ❤
So true!🥰

Benjamin melted my heart when he was telling us about how much he loves walking in the rain. He is such a precious child. I cannot believe how much Samantha has grown. She is so sweet. This video is the BEST!
Walking in the rain voluntarily is one of life’s treasures.
Whoever designed your Mom’s kitchen did an awesome job, so beautiful and so functional!
You must share the cookie recipe!
I love to see when you follow family tradition, spend precious time with your parents, and include the kids in projects as it reminds me so much of my own family. The world need more of this! Instead of black friday shopping at big stores for cheap stuff, bake a cookie and visit a small business built by people who care about people and family. Wonderful comment. Small businesses have been hit so hard with covid and inflation. I hope there will be a resurgence of them. I hate black Friday.
Love this comment and couldn’t agree more. The way Laura is patient with her kids and allows them to help is a lost art and something I’d like to work on myself with my own kids ❤
amen!
"Huge following of elderly women." 😂😂😂 That is so funny, and also so sweet! What a good guy!

Once a month is great. I never got to visit my grandparents to far no money no cell phones so no calls because they charged for long distance.
😘 im so glad you can fill some of your hearts void through Laura's videos. I too enjoy her mom and sis time because I don't have a sister and my mom and i do not share interests.
I’ll be your sister in heart too ❤

Love, love, love your mom’s remodel and especially her decor style.
In 20 years you’ll love to have these memories captured in video. Time goes by so quickly…cherish it.

But here you in 2024 and the $185 is more loved that ever in memories of your life stories.
It will not be forgotten.
Lesson learned and faith made it possible for you to have and to hold dearly.
Even in today's money, $185.00 for a frame would be too much for me.
I know! I’ve been there! Framing is so expensive!
Regret be damn! You've gotten every dime back these 22 years, it's all gravy from here forward.🎉❤
I good trick is to thrift artwork with nice frames and switch them out with your own artwork. (Note to self!) 😉
I attended the Open House and was especially impressed with Benjamin. He was so adorable asking everyone if they wanted Apple cider. Such a sweet young man.
So joyous to see Susan in her new addition at the holiday seasons. Festive and so much room for family gatherings. It turned out beautiful.

Samantha and her whimsical joy over her chapstick! That twirl! 🎀 😊

Perfection 👌 handed down thru the years !
To me, recipes from the elders are more priceless than the frames.
Both are treasures.
Thank you, Susan for allowing us to visit your beautiful home😊❤

Yes❤ precious 💞

Laura I am 80 years old it makes my heart with happiness seeing you girls helping your mom, then Samantha, helping to, three generations working together,it touches my heart, that’s what family is all about.Happy Thanksgiving, and A very Merry Christmas to you all. That includes you Erin 🙏👍👏👏🥰🌹
Monica’s hair is adorable!!! I love it.
It is so kind of your family to invite us into their homes and yards.
Yall are so blessed to have each other! I have 3 adult sons, 2 daughters-in-law but I will never experience what you 3 enjoy. Love to watch y’all
together.
The story of the making up bags of birds seed brought a tear to my eye, so kind
I admire just how much Monica does for the garden center. Happy Thanksgiving & Merry Christmas!
Love seeing the old stained and worn out recipe cards, lots of love there. Your mom’s trees look so pretty especially in the new space.
Your mom!!!❤ just so thoughtful of everyone. Specially you kids.
Laura this is the best video! Gives you the warmest vibes. Many thanks to your Mom and sister.
I am sooooo jealous of Susan's new model Kitchenaid with the fabulous walnut bowl!🤩
I had to look it up because it is so pretty!
I wish I had that pull out shelf to store mine.
I'd be scared to death to use it!
Wasn’t it gorgeous?!? 🤩
It was very generous and accommodating of your mom to show us her Xmas trees and home. Please, thank her on our behalf!! Greetings from Germany.
Oh my heart is so full, watching 3 generations together!!❤❤
Thank you so much to your Mom for sharing all her decorations with us. I love seeing how they all fit in the new house. She is an absolute gem. She is so lucky to also have her grandkids so close by they can come over anytime. I hope she will do another Christmas tour later.
I lost my Mother in 2010. She gave me a bunch of her hand crocheted snowflakes. They are so precious to me.
@@saraw8503 Nothing like family treasures. I can remember everything about them, who gifted it to me , the family connection. When our elders die, it’s so gratifying to share the memories with others in the family, especially when there aren’t many of us still alive.
I’m thrilled to see you let Samantha help. It’s a valuable lesson some parents are too busy to see. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Susan's trees are gorgeous..
I especially love the main tree and the little owl tree...thank you Susan for sharing your beautiful trees with us.
WISHING EVERYONE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON
PLEASE CHERISH EVERY MOMENT, as the children were doing, boy I miss those days of wonder and visions.
Love it
in my 7 years of watching garden answer videos I've never been this early 😊 now I can enjoy with my dinner
Oh Laura, what an absolute delightful video. It’s is ALWAYS so fun when your mom and Monica can join in on the fun. I think I enjoy these types of videos more than the actual “gardening” ones. LOL. Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving.
Everything is so beautiful. I wished I lived close to attend your mom’s open house. I just love her store . And miss these cute stores in our town.
How Fun!!! ❤❤❤
Tis the season for festivities lol. Wonderful to see your momma enjoying & utilizing her new kitchen area. Cooking & baking are so much more enjoyable when you have adequate space, equipment and Wonderful helpers. ❤❤
The garden center looks awesome!
Samantha is just so wonderful. It makes me think of my granddaughter when she was that age. Enjoy all the hugs and kisses and the help. What a wonderful age she’s precious.
This video is simply “Magical”. ✨
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤🎄
Benjamin is such a sweetheart...growing up so much...Mom's got a beautiful home.
Live the story about the older lady and the five pound bags of seed.God
Bless you All!
So until next time God Bless you all and have a Blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving and stay safe my dear and Special Friends
❤❤❤
Oh now my heart is melting over Samantha hugging momma and squeezing her face. My youngest is 7 and I'm hanging on to that innocent baby. Oh 💔
Use paper napkins to decoupage with. Its a big thing now. You can get beautiful paper napkins.
Oh my goodness your mom is so precious! What a blessing to have a mom like this
Her renovation just turned out amazing! The extra space - just love it! And what kind of bowl is that for your mom's mixer?!
I asked the same thing!!!
i thought it looked wooden, but didn't see it on Amazon!
I believe that particular bowl is sold along with that mixer, the Artisan Design Series Evergreen.
@@thegrowshow thx!!!
SG is so adorable and stylish!! And a wonderful helper. I love that she gets so excited about chap stick. It's the little things in life!!
Your Mom is so precious and love her new addition - it is so.open and bright. Love seeing you all together!
Lil Samantha helping her Mama so carefully ♥️♥️ so precious 💖
