Great info and great timing too. I've been eyeing up a used shorter stroke crank for a BMW project in the last week or so. The crank(s) will most likely come from a breakers yard, so now I know to ask them how it's been stored and get it checked for warpage before the return window closes. @@starfox_wr-45e93 no probs mate. Very easily overlooked and although it may “look” straight, it won’t be until it’s balanced or fitted inside the block that you realize it’s possibly warped. Alternatively, giving it to a machine shop prior is probably a better option. Definitely make sure bearings are correct along with conrod journals (ask me how I know 😂).
