Lots of beautiful patterns, thank you! Just one request... When you post pictures or comments in your videos, could you maybe show them about twice as long? I often find it difficult to see/read everything quickly enough. Especially because I usually knit while watching you, and I might just happen to be looking down at my knitting that very second when you show something. 😄 Thank you!
I see some other people in the comments have already noted that Haraboji is a Korean word, just adding on that the "o" is more like the O in "forest" rather than the O in "go". 😊 And "aegyo" can be pronounced like "egg yo". Love seeing all the patterns, the Haraboji cardigan wasn't even on my radar until I watched this episode, and now I desperately want to make one in the new year!!
I really enjoyed seeing both of your make nines. You both have a lovely style and it’s inspiring. I’m personally focused on adding wardrobe staple pieces this year. I’m looking to add at least 3 cardigans, 5 basic sweaters, 3-5 tees, and 3-5 camisole no 9 tanks. Then if I get anything else done I’d love to do a black and soft white stranded colorwork sweater, a nice big shawl and I’ll add socks in between larger projects.
Definitely gonna knit the Step by step cardigan hopefully as soon as it comes out ! I've been wanting to knit a cardigan with this exact yarn for over a year but could not find a pattern I was 100% sold on, but hers is just was I was looking for ! But my first challenging knit of this year will actually be the Maxine hot water bottle cover (never done colorwork before), and I can't wait to finally get started with it over the weekend once I'm done with my finals.
I’ll be joining you! Are you going to use the Noro yarn or something else? I love the look of it so much!! Ahh colorwork will be so fun! That is a beautiful pattern! 🤗
Just found your channel and love your content! I knit the Champagne cardigan out of Noro Madera in color 01 last year and must say it’s one of my all-time favorites! The yarn has held up so nicely with many wears and through multiple blockings. I will say it looks very similar to the Step by Step cardigan so you may just want to re-knit the Champagne since you have that pattern! Thanks for some other recommendations for patterns, can’t wait to see what you both make this year! 😊
Ahh I think I found your version on Instagram and it is beautiful!! I am highly considering doing this so I can use that pattern to decide what yardage I need 😊
That 50-10 Telemark cardigan is stunning! I'm excited to see what y'all make this year. I am going to add the Paul Sweater to my list! I really like that one.
I have so many of your make 9 patterns or similar on my wishlist including the quilt pillow. I’m also planning to find patterns for all the sweater quantities I have in my stash
Beautiful make 9 lists😍 Excited to see what you end up knitting😊 My knitting goals for the year is accessoires and blanket knits. (I already have to many garment knits in my wardrobe😅😂).
I knit the svenson but altered the pattern to knit it in the round. It was still bottom up which was a pain, but it worked. You just have to write the WS rows backwards and change the knits to purls. I also added more stitches to the saddle shoulders to make them wider as they looked tight in the project pictures. I think it turned out well!
Oh my gosh this is so impressive!! I don’t think I ever would have even thought to try to modify the pattern that way!! I’ll have to think on this because I think that design is so beautiful! If nothing else maybe it would be worth the seaming 😅
i’m working on the haraboji cardi rn and it is worked from the sleeve up to the shoulder then across horizontal!! it’s such a cool construction you will love it!
You two are great! 🎉 I can only recommend the Agnete Cardigan. I knitted it in the fall and I like to wear it a lot. Many people can't believe that it was knitted by myselve - which is the best compliment ❤
Lovely episode with lots of great knit goals for 2024. My goals are to send one of my jumper designs to a tech editor. Have a Ravelry shuffle/update and to embrace the ravelry project page more as a way to make personal notes too, instead of the many, many, many bits of paper and notebooks I have currently 😂
@@thosetwinswhoknit I really want a wine red one in my future. The one I have is very neutral and I love it! Now I want a bold colored one. I'm coming into this year with 3 cardigan quantities of yarn and two sweaters. But once those are done, I want to work on my wish list. 🤞
Love hearing your plans for the year! I'm planning to learn how to knit socks this year, and also bust through some stash yarn. I have a TON of old acrylic yarn from my crochet days and I've already cast on a blanket to use some of it up. I broke up my yarn onto three piles based on colors and I'm make one blanket for each of my kids.
You got this! Jess knit sweater no. 18 a little while ago and wears it all the time! Since it’s all knits and purls, it’s not much more complicated than any other drop shoulder pattern. ☺️🤍
I just cast on the Charlie Pullover by Moreca Knit and I'm really enjoying it so far! I've never done one of her patterns before and I was deciding between this one and the Elisabeth blouse. Landed on the Moreca pattern because I wanted to try a saddle shoulder
Hi ! I plan to make the salty days sweater by Kutova Kika and also her pride and pearls cardigan ( like pride and prejudice lol) from the same designer ! Happy knitting
Creabea - Rebecca Clow said her Billie sweater feels constricting, the honeycomb cable on the front particularly. Also I think she mentioned the sleeves being tight too? Maybe l’m wrong though. I wrote it off since unfortunately. Aegyo’s patterns are all named after Korean words, I think that even though she’s in Denmark she’s Korean.
Thank you both for correcting me! I meant to say “Korean” and got mixed up! That’s interesting that the Billie Pullover might run tighter… I didn’t run into that issue with the Billie Cardigan, but I also didn’t use the recommended yarn so perhaps that played a role in how the sweater fit. We’ll see if we can find the podcast where Rebecca talks about it. Appreciate the heads up! :)
😮😮😮 Jessica that cardigan is gorgeous!!! I’m attending Vogue Knitting Live at the end of January and signed up for a steeking class, I’m terrified and excited at the same time 😅
Have fun in your class!! That’s honestly such a good idea for diving into steeking. Having someone to guide you will hopefully be so helpful! I kind of wish I had thought to wait for a class before giving it a try 😅
So many inspiring plans! The motif of the color work mittens was so cute! If you need help with understanding the Swedish pattern don't hesitate to reach out. /Malca from Sweden
Love this video as an inspiration 🥰 Your plans always set me to watch at other patterns. Thank you for sharing. If you want to knit a bag, you maybe like the Boulevard Bag by Lily Kate Makes.
Great podcast as usual! Rebecca Clow of the Creabea podcast just finished an episode on her Lauder sweater/vest/ cardigan. It is in test right now but the details are amazing and it is cables. I think you would appreciate that one.
I was actually a little sad I missed that test call!! The cables are so good!! Rebecca has so much talent as a designer, I really hope to get to one of her patterns this year!
As always; gorgeous patterns! I love the streeked jacket (or kofte, as we’d say in norwegian). I’d be happy to help with the pattern for the mittens, if it’s written in Norwegian/swedish/danish. If it’s charted it wouldn’t be too much work translating the rest of the instructions 😊
Great episode! The Aegyo patterns often have Korean, not Japanese, names. Her husband is Korean I believe. They are quite terrible on the size inclusivity front. That cardigan has three sizes, with finished circumference of only 55" for the largest size, so accounting for an "oversize" allocation of 10 - 12", that would mean maximum inclusivity to a chest of about 45".
Thank you for correcting me! I will address this mistake in the next podcast as I meant to say Korean! I appreciate you letting me know! I agree, this pattern is horrible on the size inclusion front. I didn’t realize how off it was until after I purchased the pattern this week. The pattern mentions it should have a positive ease between 7-48 cms, which is a huge range and very confusing as to how it should actually fit… I haven’t decided if I want to move forward with it since I have all the things needed, or if I need to find another use for this yarn. It’s unfortunate. :(
I have about six projects in common with you two- I guess great minds think alike. I also think it will be interesting to see how many I actually get to before I’m distracted by something else .
Hi Ladies really enjoyed your goals video today,it has very much got me thinking 🤔 about mine.My fist job is to go through my stash and pair up with my patterns. From another podcast I am planning on “busting my balls” as much as I can this year and be more intentional in my buying and making, hopefully learning with some new techniques on the way.I was laughing to myself when you said you may meet Taylor Swift, I was actually thinking she maybe lucky enough to meet you both 😁Happy knitting to you both 🧶🌺

I recently found this channel and I love it. I’m also a twin! but my twin doesn’t knit, I wish she did lol Also I LOVE the color of Rachel’s cardigan, I love the cream tone
That’s a good question! We’d have to count as i really have no idea! Probably not as many as you’d expect since we tend to give away things we find we don’t reach for too often and also it took us a long time to get to the point where most things turned out to fit us and were our style!
Love love love all your ideas! And your podcast! Do you have Sandnes Garn available to you locally? (I’ve never used it and would like to). Just wondering.
Yes we do! The store Unwind Fiber Arts carries several of the Sandnes Garn yarns so that’s where we get a lot, but we’ve also ordered from Wool and Co online too. :)
I just joined your channel and didn’t realize you are in Kansas City! I grew up there and most of my family is still there. Which yarn store do you typically go to? I didn’t start knitting until after I moved away, and I’ve only ever been to the shop in Lawrence. I’m really enjoying your videos so far!
Thank you! We love Yarn Barn in Lawrence, but Unwind Fiber Arts in Lee’s Summit and Yarn Social in the West Plaza area are both a little more convenient for us locations wise and have great options!
Hello :). I am Norwegian, read Swedish and Danish, and can help you translate the colourwork mitten pattern - if you should need assistance. I have never come across a colourwork mitten pattern that do not come with a diagram, so it is usually easy to understand. Some Norwegian patterns only come with the diagram for one of the mittens (left or right), and then you must remember to mirror the thumb on the second mitten, so not to end up with two left or right mittens (this happened to many knitters I know 😄..). Thank you for a nice podcast with a lot of useful «knitting nerding»! Yours, Kristine
I just looked and their website is showing 3 skeins 🙊 was I too slow?? I am thinking I’ll need 5 or 6 but I bet if there is any yarn I could mix dye lots it would be this one! 😅
I am so excited to watch the year unfold with your Make 9's! All beautiful choices and would look stunning on you. I wanted to mention that the "Wildwood Shawl" by Melody Hoffman is very beautiful and elegant. It very well may compliment your personal style.
Maybe a Swedish speaking viewer or podcaster could help you if you get stuck on those mittens? Those are gorgeous. Fun to hear your thoughts for the new year/new knits!
Hi from Rachel! I think Jessica has a similar technique to me (or maybe lack thereof lol) but for colorwork, I drop the current color, pick up the new color, and just work as normal in english style knitting. I know continental knitters usually use both hands and are way faster because of it! But I am just not there in my colorwork skills 😅 I think personally cables can be a little slower, but I find the gauge of a project to be the biggest impact on how long a project is going to take. 😊
Any new yarn stores in the KC area? I used to go to one in Overland Park but I think a couple of the others closed. My KC relatives have gotten used to me saying I’m going yarn shopping before I head to Manhattan that lost their yarn shop:0(
We don’t know of any in Overland Park right now either! But Yarn Social in KC is beautiful and we love Unwind in Lees Summit! I’m not sure if Yarn Barn in Lawrence, KS would be on the way or not but it’s always a fun visit as well. :) they have a lot more commercial yarn as opposed to indie dyed if you have any sort of preference for one over the other!
@@thosetwinswhoknit lol - someone else beat me to it - I was also going to offer to translate from Swedish to English as I can knit in both. But may I also suggest you have a look on Ravelry at the designer Kristin Drysdale - username "Scandiwork". She has so many beautiful Scandinavian style patterns which are similar to Vanten Judith. And Kristin's are in English! 😊
I know since I’m watching this so much later than when you filmed it you may have already made them, but I do have a suggestion about the color work mittens you were interested in. Ieza Ozolina has a series of books called Knit Like a Latvian. One book has mittens like the ones you mentioned. If you didn’t find anything you were interested making in the book, it includes a free “mitten recipe” that you could make with your pattern. I checked it out free at the library, but it’s also for sale at Amazon and The Wooly Thistle. a.co/d/dJnbxCm
It so lovely to watch you two talking about knitting. It makes me wish I had a sister! 🥰 I’d be happy to translate the mitten pattern from Swedish to English for you. Just let me know and I’ll give you my email. It won’t take me long. ☺️

My LYS carries Noro yarns. Are you sure your LYS doesn’t have it?
Yarn social in KC does! But they’re sold out of the Saki color, I think it is a very popular color in the madara base 🥲
I’m Swedish! I’d love to help you with the mitten pattern if you need help! ❤
Ahh that is so kind of you!! Please don't be surprised if I take you up on this 🙈 I love the design so much!
It so lovely to watch you two talking about knitting. It makes me wish I had a sister! 🥰 I’d be happy to translate the mitten pattern from Swedish to English for you. Just let me know and I’ll give you my email. It won’t take me long. ☺️
That is so kind of you to offer!! Thank you! 😊
I love the Japanese influence cardigan.
Where do you guys shop for yarn in KC? I'm from there too.:)
GO CHIEFS!
GO CHIEFS! ❤️💛 We really enjoy Unwind Fiber Arts and Yarn Social in the KC area, and also the Yarn Barn if we’re in Lawrence!
Just a side note, "Haraboji" means grandfather in Korean, not Japanese 🙂
Thank you for letting me know!
