The execution on the manual swap is so well done it looks like it came from the factory that way. I believe if dodge were to build manual chargers they would sell. I'd buy one.
I didnt think the electronics would play well with the newer cars. I am 80% complete on an '06 SRT8 so I'm all for swapping the newer chassis!

Still waiting for someone to Hellcat manual swap a Challenger RT. They're AWD. AWD plus 800 horsepower seems like a winning combination. Little surprised it hasn't been done yet.

@@redhunnid5142 just because you haven’t had any good experience on driving a manual car doesn’t mean that you’re right my guy 😬 everyone has their own preference. But on a challenger and charger I think they’re good the way they’re definitely manual transmission gonna affects them so bad besides the fact that they’re already heavy cars so it’s just gonna make it more difficult.
Probably the loudest whine that I've ever heard and I love it. If that car woke me up 3 times a night I wouldn't even be mad.

Yeah my scat challenger is manual pushing 760hp but still a pain from a dig against the automatics ( I think I just need to find an empty road and see what works) 1st gear seems too short, starting 2nd is nicer but a bit slower off the line, then i worry about dropping it too hard and breaking something. Fun as hell though.
Manual used to be the shit from a dig purely because autos sucked and with a stick you had more control and more gears. Now that none of those things are true anymore, it's all about fun and what you like. Auto's have unfortunately taken over drag racing long ago.
I had 2 '90 model 5.0s back in the day. Both 5 speed. Drove an automatic 5.0 one time on a test drive, felt more like a Crown Vic than a Mustang. The difference between transmissions then and now is stunning.
@@scottskinner577 yeah these autos float through the gears like they aren't even there. The pause I get shifting they just don't have. Manuals to me make you feel more connected to car, there is a level of skill required, and way better in weather. Any kid can hop in an automatic and stomp on gas. No skill required. And im jealous, I test drove I think(could be wrong) an 86? 5.0 back in bank in the day, that car was mean, clutch was a monster to push in. But I had no credit back then, denied...
@@dieseljunker9234 I couldn't agree more. I been a truck driver for nearly 20 years. You said it well about the connection. In big trucks, I don't like the little movements and on slick surfaces. So far I've never been assigned an Auto though. Just a few temporary trips. But in my line of work, local delivery, in Dallas traffic, I'd still take an auto in a heartbeat.
Personal vehicles, I still agree with you. Although I'm way past the thrill of daily driver manual shifting. Certain purposes, hell yeah they'll still always have a use.
I asked my flight instructor if it's still useful to learn to fly in a *tail dragger* being that modern (commercial use) planes are all nose wheel steer. She asked me how I learned to drive, in an automatic or manual vehicle. I told her in an old 4 speed Ford Ranger. She asked "So are you glad you learned early to shift gears early on? Or do you think it was a waste of time?"
I was like "OK, point taken" 👍

Finally! I've been wanting to see a manual swapped charger! Even crazier that it's a hellcat but it just makes SENSE.
The fact it's a Hellcat makes even more sense to me. The Tremec is perfect for this

Pulley swap, injectors, tune. 800+ hp is pretty common with these cars. As you said, it’s the manual makes it Special...Rock On!

They should offer manual transmissions in all of their cars and trucks not all of us like automatic
I wish they would, but certifying a manual transmission in any lineup is expensive. They might also have restrictions in the transmission tunnel which would cost more to develop :/

Its more of a how much money would they lose to make xxx amount of manual chargers. Even with most sports cars the automatic is more bought over than the manual. Some companies lose money due to making manual models of cars yet no oje buys them

You can literally build it your self with adapters they sell all the parts aftermarket just by a tremec 6 speed and connect it to your Hellcat if you have a Hellcat or just take the tremec that was in the challenger and bolt it up to your Hellcat Charger it’s that simple it’ll bolt right up

It has been done before but not on that body style. There’s a few 06-10 model manual swapped chargers out there but even still this thing is one off for sure. Love it!

I need that stance setup asap! Looks like oem Demon wheels but in 20 inch with at least 315s out back.
You can run 315s on a 20 x11. I have the Factory Reproductions FR77 on the rear of mine in 20 x11 w +22 offset. You will have about .5 inch of clearance on the rear shocks.
Those Demon replica wheels are absolutely perfect on that car!

Wow the way this sounds the way it moves it sounds authentic. The way the car sounds just with the shifts how it drives it's completely different of how a lot of people car sound today. I think 500 hp and better cars should come with a manual transmission just to give you that connection.

I hate how ALL car makers forcing automatics on us, how awesome would it be to be in a world where you could have a manual option on every car/truck model made.
The reason they are making mostly only automatic now is completely the people's fault. People say they would only buy manual this manual that, but when it comes time to actually buy the car...they buy automatic.
@@pottersi Well fortunately some of us are serious about our manuals I looked at a fully loaded Mustang GT that had an auto versus a stripped out one with manuel and I definitely went for the stripped out manual. Also it makes me my skin crawl to hear people say well I almost bought a manual but I got the auto.
They arent forcing us. Nobody is buying manuals anymore itd be a waste of money for them to design new transmissions for new cars that hardly anyone buys

It won’t probably not sell as many needed to justify the cost for certification. Look at the CTS V type Caddy’s...just as bad azz but low volumes have jeopardized their existence

I think the car is just so big and has that wide stance it fools you as a very aggressive Car 💯 . They just ride so comfortable that the same set up in a Dodge Dart it would have gave you that very aggressive feel you were looking for 💯 , and this is a good Daily Driver on Pump Had !? It makes me wonder why he swapped the whole dashboard with the Challenger's. It would've been cool to see the stock Charger dash and modify the center console only.
Yea I'm not sure why he didn't just take a stock widebody hellcat and manual swap, just seems like he took the hard route to make it
He had to get the electronics in the CAN Bus to work right. All the modules like the instrument cluster are married together via coding. If one thing is missing the car won't run or run properly.
I assume besides the wow factor he likes the challenger interior dash and center con. I mean lets be honest to a lay man it looks like it belongs....

I got a 2018 widebody challenger hellcat manual!!and I love it.
Man when I was in my teens and 20s, everything had to have a stick. Now at 40, hell with shifting. I doubt anyone could match today's Auto technology anyway.
Auto is certainly quicker and for a daily I’ll keep auto but I still enjoy manual for the fun and connection to the car
@@AutotopiaLA well said. And I mainly say that as a 20 year truck driver lol So yeah I'm good on *daily* shifting. But I'll always appreciate the usefulness for maybe a work truck or a track racer. Drifting. Stuff like that.
You said "connection to the vehicle". Yeah that's important in big rigs too I've been stuck a couple times on job sites in a loaner Auto that I know I wouldn't have been in my typical Manual truck. You don't feel the ground under you with an auto the way you do with a stick, so yeah Connection is the right way to describe it. The ground AND the vehicle.

Yooo I've been thinking that,... the only problem I see is that it's a boat , good luck to the transfer case or axles.
The diff wouldn’t hold that type of power, nor the tranny, the axles, or the driveshaft. The whole car would keep blowing parts left and right
